My experience at Yellow Box Shoes ecommerce/marketing department was disheartening, traumatic and frustrating. I was in charge of many aspects within the e-commerce department and have witnessed many situations that were not only suspicious but also demoralizing and wrong.
The department lacks numerous simple business practices. The most important is structure. Structure within the department seizes to exist. There is no workflow or process that occurs day to day. We constantly shot from the hips with marketing, images and discipline with no true direction from the head of the department.
Another was our goals and metrics. There was no purpose in collecting data to evaluate in order to measure what our next steps were. We never had an overall goal to reach or observe if what we did within the department was appropriate. We were constantly changing our business plans with no true driving force due to the lack of experience and knowledge from our department head. His tactics were inconsistent and brought no true value to marketing the business.
I witnessed numerous situations implemented by the department head that would be liable for termination at any other businesses yet was allowable to happen at Yellow Box E-Commerce without any repercussion or accountability. A hostile working environment developed due to the nature of those actions.
The head of Yellow Box e-commerce was inadequate to lead. His inability to stay focused and professional was detrimental to not only the department but to Yellow Box Shoes as a whole. His business disciplines and process was far from what any true business professional would practice. His lack of empathy and inability to work with others within the department and the company was an issue with multiple employees. Yellow Box Shoes never handled those issues properly thus resulting in employees developing trusts issues and poor tendencies to work. This lack of discipline allowed unethical and humiliating situations to occur by the e-commerce department head towards employees within Yellow Box Shoes. E-commerce department head’s appalling and lack of leadership disallowed many progressions that could’ve advance the business. He constantly used conniving tactics to cover up a multitude of mistakes and to disguise his inabilities to lead within business.
I hope this review finds you and it alters your opinion in taking a job within this department. It was hard to grow as a professional with no true leadership to guide you or inspire. You gain no experience working within this department. Your hard work goes unnoticed and unrewarded. Truly it was a horrific experience working with not only the department head but also some other employees that had to react to such poor working conditions and leadership.
