What an appalling company this is. It is no more theft that they take your money and do not supply the goods, surely they should be in court and made to return all the money they have taken from so many people. Avoid Van Meuwen (Thomas Morgan) they rip you off, and just don't care.

Anna Craig Responding their offer on 29 January - 30 giant fuchsias+2hanging baskets and fertilizer I paid £17.94 by card and since then I haven't heard from them (promised delivery by the end of April). When I tried to track my order there was a message "we don't have any records about this order". I tried to phone them and after 20 minutes waiting I gave up. What shall I do now?

I ordered 100 plug plants from catalogue in January and told dispatch would be early march. revised to mid march. I didn't receive plants and after several phone calls and unanswered emails I have finally heard that dispatch will now be mid may. customer service appalling. I thought they were a big enough company to be able to fulfill orders and have staff capable of answering queries - obviously not - I'll never use them again

I have bought from these people before and generally, not brilliant but not too bad BUT, last month I spent £24 + postage and was really disappointed with the appalling condition of the plants. one group of 5 arrived first - a bit dry but looked fair - sadly after 2 weeks only 1 1/2 still surviving. next day 5 more daisies + 20 various - 5 daisies arrived so wet many had rotted away - of the 20 only 11 still alive........... complained to customer care, very nice lady said sorry and would send some more daisies, they duly arrived and were in worse condition than first lot another phone call (At a silly rate) and was told, fairly abruptly, to send some pictures via E:mail to verify the condition of the plants, which I did see some attached.........I quickly got an E:mail reply apologizing and giving a full refund. However, still not too happy as I do not have any plants as now out of stock

I placed an order with Van Meuwen on 8 March 2019 and was told that delivery would be within 7 days. Nothing has arrived despite me sending them 2 emails asking them to confirm when they would be delivering the plants. I have today tried to check the status of my order on their site and it says there is no record of my order despite receiving a 'Thank You' confirmation of my order saying that it was completed successfully. I have today spoken to someone at Van Meuwen this morning who told me that a letter was sent out to me stating that due to unforeseen problems, my order was going to be delayed. Today I have been informed that my order will be sent out in 10 days. I have dealt with Van Meuwen by email and have not received any correspondence by post or email from them whatsoever and I am sure they are lying. When I tried to check the status of my order on their site, it stated that there was no record of it. I would not advise anyone to order plants from this unreliable company.

After my order was delayed, I phoned to say I wanted it cancelled. The person on the phone told me I would get a refund. When a week passed and I didn't get it, I sent an email. I got no response to this. When I raised a complaint with PayPal, I got a refund within twenty minutes. This is a totally dishonest company who were just sitting on my refund request and doing nothing. I will never use them again.

Bought 5 bare root hellebores. Roots looked healthy, although I won't know until the autumn when shoots should appear whether doing well. Well packaged. Would have been useful if roots were labelled as to variety name, colour or with a photo. Cost could be increased with this extra. Information extremely poor regarding delivery, hence only 3*.

My bamboo plants eventually arrived on 3April, having ordered them on 8 March and which were supposed to be delivered in 7 days. Please see my previous review. The plants arrived in a small cardboard box in pots clearly marked 9 cms. My order was for two bamboo plants in 3 litre pots. This company is fraudulent, not supplying what they are supposed to be supplying. Once they have your money, they just don't care. I will never order anything from them ever again.

Ordered on 25th March. Firstly some items came up £7 more expensive on order than on the item page, so removed them and chose again. All items said dispatch within 7 days. 8 days later no sign of them or email advice. The tracking from the order confirmation cannot find the order. Ring customer services - on hold for more than 20 minutes while they repeatedly play a recording saying how wonderful their system is. Eventually get through to customer services who identify themselves as 'Thompson & Morgan'. They tell me they know tracking isn't working. My order hasn't been dispatched. It will be another 10 working days. Not impressed, and I haven't even received the plants yet to know what they will be like.

I ordered a gerbera collection which arrived today, but the plants were weak with huge floppy leaves (and looked more like lettuce) which makes me think they had been well forced. This is my first experience with VanMeuwen and it will be my last. The price I paid was exorbitant for the results I received. My local supermarket (Morrisons) had better ones at £2 each.

very poor customer service, long delay in replying to emails and sometimes no reply at all. I was promised a replacement for a 5 pack of plants when only 4 were received, the replacement never arrived. Eventually someone answered the phone and I was promised a full refund, more than 2 weeks on and still no refund. I used to order from Van Meuwen quite often as the plants always arrived in good order but I will no longer order from them

Will not buy from this company again. Got an email saying plants had been delivered - no parcel had been received and no calling card left. I emailed Van Meuwen, after trying, unsuccessfully to phone them for half an hour and just received an automated reply that they would get back to me - in 14 days. The plants actually arrived three days later - some dead, the rest very dry and leggy and I doubt they will survive... Once bitten twice shy!

Everytime I send Van Meuwen an email, I get an automatic response and nothing further is done. As stated in my previous review, my order was for 2 plants in 3.5 litre pots - Umbrella Bamboo. These were ordered on 8 March at 12.18 p.m. The plants did not arrive until 3 April. They were delivered in a small narrow cardboard box which had two 9cm pots and one of the tiny bamboo plants had come out of the pot in transit and the plants were in poor condition. The Consumer Rights Act makes it an implied term of the contract that goods be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. The order was for 3.5 litre pots and not 9cm as supplied by Van Meuwen. They obviously don't care about the Consumer Rights Act. I have sent them emails to this effect, but they don't even bother to reply. Don't buy anything from them is my advice.H

I received 18 Hardy Gerbera plants around 26 April. Although the leaves were a bit floppy they soon perked up after the plants were potted on into 5" pots filled with John Innes no2 compost. I kept the 18 pots under polythene cloches overnight for a week and stood them out in the rain / sunshine during the daylight hours. The plants now look nice and healthy and I shall plant them into my flower bed by the 3rd week of May. Be aware though, contrary to advertising, Hardy Gerberas (Garvinia) are NOT as hardy as made out. I had a bed of about 20 plants in the autumn of 2018, of which about 14 were lost to the frost during the relatively mild 2018 /2019 winter in the SE of England.

I can understand peoples frustration. I ordered some plants a couple of weeks ago and a week ago I emailed them. Still waiting. They can keep sending bargain prices everyday to your email but obviously cannot DELIVER. Shocking ,should not be aloud to get away with it

After feeling great that my order for several types of bedding plants had been accepted, it wasnt long before i became disillusioned withe the company. They stated 21 days for delivery, wrong, it took up to 45/50 days before the plants arrived. Then when the final trailing geraniums didnt arrive i contacted them by email, but received no reply. I then rang them to be told the remaing part of the ordered would arrive by the end of June 2019. Once again lies, as i then received an email saying they couldnt supply the geraniums and i would be credited in my bank account. Not bad after placing an order at the begining of April 2019.. They never respond to emails and the delivery process is appalling. I would advise people to shop eleswhere as the service is very poor. I wasnt even offered a substitute. Steer clear as half the plants your order come from other nurseries such as Thompson & Morgan. This is advertised on Van Meuwen site.

Ordered my 5 plug chrysanthemums on delivery two were completely snapped and one damaged at terminal. I had sent email and no reply and the following day phoned twice but did not get through and after reading most of your reviews I can understand why I am having problems although I will continue to send them consecutive emails write and send them a photograph of the damage plants.
