I am absolutely disgusted at the customer service at Wet Seal. I have been shopping at the store for up to 12 years but only did so once in a blue moon because I always found the quality of their clothes to be complete *** however certain times are acceptable (socks, hair accessories and even some shoes considering they carry some known shoe brands that I am familiar with).
Well my days shopping here are completely over. The shoes not only looked much cheaper and poorly made than they did online but were also about two sizes to large. They were marked an 8 (I am always a true 8) and the shoes were said to be "true to size" on the website (I always make sure to check these things first). I received the shoes and tried them on and they might as well have been a 9.5 or 10.
I am quite familiar with the brand of the shoe because we carried it at the boutique I worked at for many years. I was always an 8 in this brand and never had any issues at all, particularly with sizing. This pair of shoes was obviously defective (maybe why they were on sale I don't know and of course no one over there will admit) and they gave me beyond a difficult time with returning the item. First, they wanted me to pay $12 for shipping to send the product back even though it was THEIR mistake.
I refused and they ended up surprisingly covering the shipping. I went out of my way to package up the shoes and ship them out. This whole process took about a month because of the quality of the customer service/going back and forth in email. Weeks are going by and I am hearing nothing of the return.
Finally I reach out to THEM and they tell me that they will not be refunding after all of this because of the "condition" of the shoe. First of all, had I not reached out they probably never would have gotten back to me based on their reliability through email from the start. They claimed that the soles of the shoes appeared to be slightly worn and that the shoe had a "foreign odor." I am reading their email to me laughing at all the trouble I went through and the nerve that they have to say I wore shoes that I did not. I was honest with them and told them about trying them on around the house and even leaving them outside to get rid of the funky smell I noticed when I unpackaged them.
The shoe was ONLY tried on in my own home as I walked around the house trying to see if I could get away with wearing/keeping them. I could not because they were overly large. When they arrived, they also smelled a little funky but nothing that disgusted me and from prior experience I have experienced this before with Wet Seal and even some other random companies and figured it would be due to packaging, traveling, many things. I wash the clothing and go on with my life.
In this case, I left the shoes outside on a beautiful day for a few hours to air them out and it seemed to help. AGAIN, I am trying to "better" the defective shoes that THEY sold me. I was extremely patient throughout all the waiting despite how annoying it was. It was only 25$ pair of shoes however, it is the principle of it all that truly urks me.
Whoever I was speaking to actually continued to argue with me and ignoring the fact that the shoes were defective. She even eventually got rude because I was not backing down and was so appalled that a huge company would be making such a big deal over refunding at $25 dollar pair of shoes that shouldn't have even be sold in the first place. I will no longer be shopping at Wet Seal and have not heard a decent thing about the company in quite some time. I should have trusted that and not even bothered giving them business but as I said, I had been shopping there once in a while for years and the shoes were a cute bargain.
I will be spreading the word to others although I don't know many people who still shop there. I predict that the company will fall sooner than later.

Placed an order and I was missing an item. They no longer have a phone number so all communication is via email and with a nameless employee "from Wetseal". I told "from Wetseal" of my problem and was told that there was nothing they could do, that the "warehouse" said the order was sent out fine. When I asked for the warehouse proof... I was met with "go to the post office", Which of course did nothing. I sent several emails following, hoping to speak with a supervisor and get a refund. No luck. No answer. Very impersonal and indifferent company. The products are all cheap and you get what you pay for. Dont order online. They are grossly incompetent. I Pretty much was scammed out of $20 -_-

Do not buy from here. They did not send me two items, now that I’m emailing them they take days to reply and say I need to send items back that i never received!

I ordered a few items back in October, and returned two of them a week later and I noticed my money had not been returned to the card. I have been emailing and calling customer service and have been met with the same response of we will have to verify so and so and it will take three days! It's been a month and a half and I have not gotten my money back and they keep going in circles and asking for more and more info !

For cyber Monday wet seal online had 40% off the whole site, awesome right? Placed a large order, and because my shipping and billing address are different (because i just moved) my order was placed on a hold. Called wet seal and the girl said she had to be on the line while I called my bank to verify I placed the order, I told her that I shop online all the time and I've never had this problem... Calling my bank while the girl was on the line, the bank wanted my information as usual to verify who I was. I told her that I didn't feel comfortable giving her the information (part of my social and other information that someone could use to gain access to my accounts) because a 3rd party was on the line. So on both ends we weren't able to verify anything, for wet seal or my bank. Even the girl from the bank though it was unusually for wet seal to be doing this, she said there was no reason to involve the customer and that if there is a problem wet seal should call the bank directly. The girl from wet seal basically said there was no way to verify I placed the order since I wouldn't give out my info and my order would not be processed. So I told her to just cancel my order. I will not be receiving my order and I missed out on all the other cyber Monday deals... great. I NEVER leave bad reviews, but the HORRIBLE service I just received deserves a bad review. I wish I could give 0 stars.

I've been shopping at Wetseal since 2009. I can always find something I want but its not the same online. They use to have great promos and a decent variety/selection, its a Juniors store and maybe that's an issue because sizing can be off, its mostly clothes for teens and hardly are things restocked when they sell out fast. Wish they had more sophisticated clothes or clubwear...I loved this place at 19 but now....not so much.
I suggest going to the Wetseals at the malls.

I have had two bad experiences while shopping online at Wet Seal. Both times I checked out smoothly only to later recieve a confirmation email stating that half of my items were out of stock. Now it seems to me that the best time to inform a person an item is sold out is before checkout not after you take their money. I emailed them both times and both times got the same email word for word, they were sorry for the inconvenience and are looking to fix the issue. Neither time did I recieve the items I had in my cart at checkout. If you are going to shop at Wet Seal online just BEWARE that checking out and paying for an item does not guarantee you will recieve the item.

I love this store but was upset when I got to checkout and handed ladie a 100 dollar bill and she said they didn't take them unless u spend 80 dollar's. Is this store for real I was spending 40 dollar's!!!

I've done two orders from wetseal. The first was for a single t-shirt, which arrived quickly and the right size. The other for a dress ad belt- both correct sizes, fast delivery and all great condition! I would not hesitate to buy from them. My only flaw was that they didn't ship to Canada but now they do! So a perfect review from me!
