Poor craftsmanship where welding was done to add the ramp and lift, improper paint prep causing corrosion issues.
Plastic body not designed for freezing temperatures, cracking and breaking when frozen.
Very poor quality rear wheel well where the lift has been covered up by a piece of sheet metal and a couple screws, looks terrible.
Road noise is aweful.
After purchase vmi customer service is non existent!
Vehicle must be serviced by vmi once a yr or your warranty is void.

Owner of 2010 Honda Odyssey converted by Braun. Very noisy and bumpy ride. Test drove a 2018 VMI HONDA PILOT which was much quieter and had a smoother ride. Even the 2019 Braun minivans were horrible. Still loud and bumpy ride.

We purchased a 2018 Honda Pilot that was converted by VMI. I will just say if you read all of the poor reviews listed here, we have experienced everyone of them. The company has horrible customer service, they don't keep you informed on progress of repairs, they are in Arizona I live in northern California it was a nightmare getting the vehicle to them, then after they had it, they only fixed one item, returned it with a chip in the windshield, dent and scratch in the rear drivers side door, nail in the tire. We have not even had this Pilot 1 year. Passenger door only closes after multiple attempts, rust, water leaks, squeaking in rear area, screws were left loose in wheelchair floor seating area, missing brake clamp, loose interior moldings, passenger seat belt doesn't extend all of the time. Fortunately for us this vehicle if for our disabled son, I can not imagine what this experience would be for some one who IS disabled. I can't speak for BraunAbility, if they are anything like VMI,the disabled community is in dire straights for transportation.

Issues with the Honda Pilot. Taking a very long time to get issues taken care of. Rust/very loud cabin. Weather stripping done poorly.

We got a VMI Toyota Sienna Manual ramp and I love it! We test drove a few vans and fell in love with the height of the VMI vs it’s competitor. I just wish a manual ramp could be installed in the XLE OR SE version instead of just the LE. We got the flip and fold seat installed so that my daughter could easily transfer in and out of it during long trips which is great and very convenient, But the comfort not so much. The seat is a little more upright and stiffer than a normal seat and it doesn’t have arm rests. Which is a bummer because my daughter feels like if shes sitting too straight with a slight forward tilt and can’t really grab or rest her arms on anything. Also since the floor is lowered her legs are just hanging. I also don’t like that we lost some storage and extra cup holders. The ones that are available are very flimsy and don’t fit a large cup. If there were better cup holders and the flip and fold had arm rests and had the ability to recline a little like the 3rd row this review would hands down be a 5 star review.

JUST AN UPDATE !
I returned the Honda Pilot to the dealership. The dealership took it back and traded it in for me. I purchased a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica, with rear entry. So much better and no issues so far it is not V.M.I. But BRAUN !
I purchased the Honda Pilot vmi for the simple reason it can accommodate 2 wheelchairs
Initially the radio didn’t work. It took VMI 6 months to authorized my local Honda dealer to fix it . The Honda dealer took three weeks because the parts that vmi sent were wrong and the dealer had to lift the floor, I do not feel safe with the floor being replaced again. In addition the ramp undercarriage is rusted already. The other issue I had was the piece that held the door broke off and the heavy door slammed on my husbands arm. Vmi refused to allow my local dealer to fix it ,so I had to bring it to the actually dealer I brought it from ( in another state ) they fix it beautifully ,thank you Fun Trucking Mobilty 👍. The shift is in an Unsafe place, if the passenger moves or wheel chair moves the shift CAN move while you are DRIVING! Seat belt doesn’t have any stoppers so the clip constantly falls down and the passenger seat belt gets caught in the ramp door handle. The protective cloth/felt is already becoming unglued! And who looks at the roof of their car , the roof is damaged and dented! The Honda dealer and my mechanic states that it could only happen when vmi transported the vehicle in an autovan because it is from the top !
I really do not feel safe in this vehicle, and am waiting for a response from VMI, let’s see it been two weeks . We pay a lot for these vehicles , and it is horrible that I still have to pay for this car !!!!

I have 2019 Northstar360 Toyota Sienna.
We just took delivery of it and upon inspection we found a few problems with the VMI portion of the build. First after a fairly lengthy rainstorm the driver side B pillar, headliner and floor was soaked with water which after checking for the source we found a partially installed weather seal at the top of the door. After pushing it into place the problem has not showed itself again. Second, when checking the vehicle for other partailly installed seals, I found a utility knife left on the top ridge of the rear hatch. Rust spots were beginning to form where the blade was touching the paint. Third now we started to look around the vehicle for other potential fit and finish problems. We found that the floor modifications had some issues with paint and rust in the weld seams on both sides of the access doors. The paint on the driver side lower interior well is cracking. I very much hope that these issues will be resolved.

My wife is thrilled with this vehicle because of the new found mobility she now has. We've had it seven days as of this writing and she's been out five of those days. Couldn't be happier.

Super friendly staff. Love the vehicle! Only complaint with dealer was pricing was unclear and difficult to clarify. Multiple requests for details finally allowed us to solidify the correct purchase price but the initial vague process and incorrect pricing was a little concerning. I would just advise others to ensure their price is correct before purchase. Otherwise, we couldn’t be happier with our new car and totally recommend VMI!

We purchased the vehicle already modified from SilverCross automotive. the VMI system worked great with just a push of a button. One piece of advise is to always brush it down before putting the ramp in (under the floor). This way little rocks and debris will not get underneath where the ramp is. Our son loves to go for rides in his new van and explore more scenic options.

Mark strand is an excellent salesman. He has a great knowledge of how to work with the VA. Would strongly recommend going through Mark for any of your Mobility needs.

We like a number of things about the Honda Pilot conversion. We like the the design of the entry door and entry LED lighting and the floor system. However, some items to consider going forward.
1. There is only one useful cup holder up front. We understand that the SUV console had to be modified to accommodate a wheelchair. But you really need to find a way to fit two useful cupholders for driver and passenger.
2. You should offer the Honda Pilot with the Honda Sensing technologies.
3. If the Honda is parked on the slightest incline, the floor just comes out when you don't want it to.
4. Our new Honda Pilot came with a non-functioning radio, it took almost two weeks to find the root cause which seemed to be a wiring harness that was damaged / cut during the conversion. Please test everything before shipping.
5. The rear seat had a center console that is bolted in. It cannot be easily removed which prevents you from folding down the rear seats. This should be a removable center console. This is really a dumb design.
And lastly, our dealer Mobility Works seemed to know less about the SUV than we did. We learned more by watching YouTube videos and visiting the VMI website.

We love our new van. It has so much space and is easy to turn wheelchair. The restraints are also updated and they stay in place better than the older ones. My sons chair doesn't move while traveling.

I am very happy with my experience! Car buying is often a pain, but our salesman Gary Richards was awesome! He made me feel that my questions were important and he answered them all swiftly and professionally. I would recommend Gary and VMI with out reservation.

Vantage Mobility listened carefully to my needs and suggested a solution that was both different to what I was expecting and an excellent solution. They also spent as much time as I needed customizing my unit for our particular needs.

Total unprofessional conversion job on a $75,000.00 vehicle. Out of alignment. Water spaying through the misaligned conversion door. Just an unbelievable mess that has to be seen to be believed.

VMI claims to hold high standards but after hearing what they have done to all the employees in the other states including their own (so cut throat and dont care) why would I refer anyone to this company again? if you dont care about the employees HOW can you care about my family, your employees are suppose to be your family and you fight to keep them unless they are doing wrong. Never EVER again! BRAUN HERE WE COME AND HERE COME THE REFERALS~! VMI you need to figure it out
