HORRIBLE--NEVER AGAIN. Placed an order with CSR on Friday, checked inventory and paid EXTRA for shipping to have by Tuesday. Didn't arrive on Tuesday so I called Van Dykes CSR to check status. "I show this on backorder". WHAT? We checked inventory at time order placed AND paid extra to expedite...why would i pay extra to receive when you don't even have it, much less being able to ship out? Van Dykes never called to let me know. Carpenters wasted 2 hour drive each way to install that evening. Utter bunch of unprofessional hillbillies--i will NEVER rely on VAN DYKES RESTORERS again. They are inept and unprofessional.

If I could click zero stars I would have. Their restocking fee is not highlighted anywhere on their page. Charges 10% 0-30 days and 20% 31-60 days. In the land of shopping online this seems inappropriate.

I'm learning you need to check the reviews of the online websites. YOU WILL MOST LIKELY REGRET BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY. I was sent 2 damaged items and I've been getting the runaround for a month now on getting the return label. Their Customer service team are liars. I will write a negative review every day I have to wait to get my money back. This may turn into a soap opera

Worst customer service I have ever had. Missing a backplate from pkg with knob. They adamantly demand that I send them various pics from the order in order to give me what I ordered. Customer Service Rep put me on hold when I stated that this was ridiculous. I am referring to 1 pkg of 6 that I ordered. Cost was under $5 per pkg with $8 shipping. This is not worth the hassle. Will go without the 1 backplate.

After a recent order, they sent me a coupon for "$10 off your next order of any amount." Before I inserted the coupon code, the shipping cost for my order was $6.99. As soon as I inserted the code, the shipping cost jumped to $13.99. I wrote to them to try to obtain an explanation, but never received an answer. This is totally dishonest and immoral. Nice way to treat your repeat customers, particularly at Christmas!

took a while but I was fully credited my return. turns out the day I submitted it was the first day on the job for the employee. she handled my claim very professionally and satisfactorily. they have great products!

I Purchased some oil rubbed hinges and gate hardware and put it on my gate. In a short amount of time it began to show black run streaks and rust and cause damage to the wood on my gate. After this happened I looked up the product and read that those types of things can happen with the oil product. I re-ordered the black powder coated product to replace it with. After placing the order on 7/3 I found out that part of it would be backordered And not available until July 30. I called to find out when it would be shipped and found out that part was now backordered to August 30 and they were holding my whole order. Why no communication? I talked with someone who said they would split the order and ship the parts that were in stock now. Two weeks went by and nothing arrived. I called this week to find out what was happening and how I could get the parts that were in stock shipped to me. Someone told me they would check with a supervisor and get right back to me, again it’s been several days with no contact. I am very disappointed in both product and service. The icing on the cake is that I got a catalog in the mail today. It’s unlikely I’m going to order any more products until this is resolved.

We are not first time buyers,so where is my order , they (VDR) rely on their vendors for shipping and tracking . Meanwhile, the customer sits in limbo for two weeks wondering if his order is processed or returned or shipped or just forgot about . My suggestion is to get better service from your vendors to better serve your customers or you many not have any customers. Merry Christmas I think not for one of my best customers. You have made me look like a fool to my customer. Just send me a tracking order number Please.

I purchased an iron hook to create a swag on a pendant light that needed to be moved a bit. I liked this one much better than the options at the hardware store- a more industrial and contemporary look to go with my transitional style kitchen.

Ordering was easy, a real person answered the phone when I called with a question. Everyone I spoke/emailed with were professional, friendly and helpful. When I left a message, my calls were returned promptly. Unfortunately the items I ordered did not work with my current project so I had to return them, but it was so easy! I will always look to Van Dyke's, you may pay more, but you get great customer service and their products are beautifully constructed and made to last another 100+ years!

I was unable to cancel an order I placed night before, $65 shipping for $6.60 merchandise I was first unable to locate in Canada.Sent email back to company that night to cancel but automated response was to talk to customer service rep. 8:45 next morning called to cancel, but the rep said it was already committed for shipment although wouldn't physically ship until the next day. Had already unsuccessfully tried to appeal the shipment cost since shipment cost for same product was $25 six months earlier. Really sucks, if you place an order don't expect to be able to cancel at all.

I am editing my review because I did receive a call from Van Dyke's and they were very apologetic and wanted to straighten out the mess that was made with order. They did refund my money and also gave me a credit for $50.00. While the buying experience was not the greatest for me and it was my first time buying from them, I must say that they did what companies should do that have a customer service model that includes trying to retain unhappy customers. I am willing to give them another chance.

Ordering was easy, question answered satisfactorily and delivery was quick. One item was not as ordered (black finish instead of rust). I could still use it so it wasn't a big deal, but I subtracted one star because of this.
