Very bad service provided at cookstown branch this morning. Waited half hour and was told by member of staff to move from where we were standing as they were going to see someone else. Another member of staff then said we might have to wait 30-45 mins more to be seen by staff member. They don’t care whether they get new customers or not. Never going back again.

The worse Bank ever stay away from them was with them for 15 years they just sent me a letter just say they are closing my account in 60 days and they won't say why . I'm a working class person nothing wrong with my account .

Enough is Enough. All of the other bad reviews have said it all. I thought I was talking to a human being until the 'stock response on short loop' policy kicked in along with their 'rely on the customers apathy' ethos. I'm closing my account asap.

This bank I have been with since primary school, not only now am I being charged for my overdraft I am also be charged interest. Keeping in mind every month I’m technically paying the overdraft in full. Now on top of that I have to go through 3 security checks. It’s ridiculous online banking was supposed to be simple.

Can I not give ZERO stars.....they deserve it! I am 40 years banking with them and in recent years they have gotten to be no less than dictators. They have now blocked my account because they have not got some proof of identity paperwork. I am now in the horrible position that I have no access to my money. What are they some kind of 2 bit Police State.

I am in the middle of lodging money to ny account. The machine has malfunctioned and staff are trying to locate the cash it accepted. I have no complaints against your staff. I must however ask, in whose benefit is it to install these machines and reduce your counter staff? Certainly not mine. A complete waste of my time. Branch is O'Connell st Limerick.

Over the last few years this bank has been decimated. Branch closures galore... limited staff in branches, rubbish online banking and apps. To top it off Ulster Bank will often send you a customer survey after a visit to the branch. Upon filling it out you are contacted by a branch manager who seems set on talking over you and trying to suggest better ways to get round the problems listed rather than engaging with them head on. I have another account with another well known high street bank and the difference in service is astounding.
I will be closing my Ulster Bank account shortly as they are not only the worst bank around but possibly one of the worst High Street experiences you can have. Did I mention they still close for lunch? Right around the time customers are likely to be on their lunch hour and want to use banking facilities? Like going back in time to the 1970’s...

I agreed a 2.90%, 3 year (36 month) fixed mortgage with Ulster Bank, however when the ESIS arrived the rate and term were both different (2.99% and 39 Months).
Despite repeated attempts by me to get to the bottom of this, nobody has fixed this error, or explained why it happened.
I have phoned Ulster Bank 10-12 times asking for a call back. They have never once called me back.
I informed the rep that I wished to make a complaint about this and specifically asked her whom I could complain to, and she did not respond. Ulster Bank Rep consistently does not respond to emails and inquiries.

Absolutely terrible bank.
My girlfriend and I we're travveling to Australia. She ordered dollars threw the bank when we called in to pick it up, one day before travelling, they told us they forgot to order it.
As if that wasn't bad enough, I transferred my money to her account because they had told us we could use her bank card for 90 days while we are in Australia. However last night they have decided to block her bank card and not allow us to use it. So we are now stuck in Australia while they sit and refuse to give us access to our money. Called their customer service to try sort out the issue and was just repeatedly told they can't do anything. What a terrible bank. Useless bunch of w*****s!!!

I had accounts with them for 15 years - branch service poor to middling with policies from the middle ages. Country branches much better than Dublin. Enquired about a mortgage and it took 4 weeks of emails and phone calls to get an answer. When I finally closed the account I got an email notification that my final statement was available online. But I can't log on to view the statement because they have removed access.

From 4 euro a month to 12.. that is extortion. Have a new account set up and will be swapping this month. Charging me on my minimum wage income for one direct debit and a few transactions. Ridiculous. People aw crippled enough as it is. Now to be charge am indeterminate amount anywhere from double to trouble to triple your usual cost is just too much to allow to happen. I hope many like me leave yous in light of this.

Horrendous, absolutely horrendous service. If you have even the most remote expectation of being treated like a customer then I implore you to seek help elsewhere. I'm a long standing customer (25 years) of ulster bank and an ex employee and they have completely lost their way. Its genuinely sad to see what used to be a good bank turn septic. I tried to use the online loan application service and was treated like crap for over a month before being told my application had expired. Have since been approved in 2 days with no nonsense whatsoever. Pathetic.

The worst experience with the customer service in Ireland so far.
I applied for a current account online and went into the bank to prove my ID. Looked well at the beginning, the lady said 10 days for the card.
After 7 days I get home an envelope with the same documents I signed before saying that I need to sign them and go to the bank with my ID.
I do that no problem and later in the day I get a text that I need to go to the bank and show them my ID.
I ring customer service to see what is the problem and the guy says that they can’t accept my ID card because I am from Romania.
The second time I went to the bank gave them my passport. Still getting texts to prove my identity in the branch.
Never again in Ulster Bank.

Simply awful. Was locked out of my online business account for a full month and no-one could work out why. One epic phone call of 1hr 40 minutes, talked to eight people, put through security multiple times. I was lied to - one woman obviously frustrated told me she would send out an activation code, the next woman said "no, we don't send out activation codes, i don't know why she would say that?" Obviously to get me off the phone because she didn't know what to do! Promised call backs on two occasions but they did not do this. No trust at all in this bank!

Opened an UB account to get paid then switched to my old account. 2 weeks ago I said I’d start using it, lodged money into it & taught that’s great went to buy something & card was declined after phoning customer care found out they’d closed my account after it was not used for 4 months. I’m told I can get my money back in any branch but one branch in south Dublin are saying no I’ve to go to the other branch I’d lodged the money in & the inside lodging machines accept cancelled cards & staff know about this. After returning to the branch I was in last week I’m told they don’t transfer money from other branches & ive to go back out to that branch but I can’t cause they’re closed at 4:30. I asked so if I lodged that money in Donegal or Kerry or Galway would I have to go back there to get the money back, there answer in this branch was yes I would. It’s 2019 not 1901 so out of touch with reality & don’t want to do any work. This receptionist said they can email them but wouldn’t call & expected me to call the other branch. After 2 weeks being told various answers & lies I’ve had enough with these.
Stay away from this bank, their a scam & their staff is so dreadful & dopey.

The most useless shower of w****** ever walked the face of the earth!! Far too many bad experiences with Ulster Bank including rude staff, silly transaction mistakes, failure to send me paper statements, to name but a few!! I had an account review arranged as advised by counter staff who informed me that it had been over a year since my last one, I’m self employed and arranged to leave work early that particular day only to receive a phone call from a girl in the SAME BRANCH telling me that if I wasn’t interested in a mortgage or loan then she was “just gonna cancel that account review”! Half a days wages lost for f*** all!! Well stupid move it was as I was considering applying for a mortgage in the very near future! I then told her what I thought of her manners and the crap service from UB in general and after having enough of their crap service, went straight to my local Danske Bank branch to arrange to switch to them!! Absolute world of difference in the services, facilities and friendly staff of Danske!! Recieved what I assume is the usual letter from UB in the weeks that followed to say they were “sorry that I had chosen to leave”, well I am anything but sorry, I’ve banked with them all my life and should have been away years ago!! The business account (along with several of my mates accounts) are soon to follow as I want to cut all ties with this excuse for a bank! Think I speak for everyone on here when I say I hope all their customers get away from these useless greedy b******* before it’s too late!!

I have banked with Ulsterbank for the last 10 years. It has been the most unpleasant experience I've had banking with any bank. The ammount of mistakes they have made whilst processing my transactions is incredible.
Every time I paid a bit extra off my mortgage I had asked them to keep the regular repayments the same yet they did not do this, instead reducing my monthly repayments (something I didn't want so my term could decrease). I questioned this multiple times as I went into the branch time and time again. Every time I was fobbed off by inexperienced staff.
When applying for a mortgage recently I was the one telling the mortgage advisor what info they required. This particular time the advisor really thought he had got it right, but a day later called me up and requested the extra payslips that I told him he would need in the first place. I supplied these and never got them back. Despite requests for them it appeared they lost the origionals after they copied them.
I have walked in on numerous occasions to find the teller desk understaffed and have been told to wait with the other customers until a standing advisor becomes available.
I've recently made the switch to Halifax and the experience of banking has been excellent in comparison. Though I'm sure any of the other banks would be easier to deal with than Ulsterbank.
And before you think, this guy has a particular issue, read the other comments. The general feeling is the same.
I'd have given them 0 stars if I could

I applied for a loan through the bank and received a pack through the post stating I had been accepted and needed to send through bank statements etc. So I went to one of the branches and had everything certified and sent off. I decided to call the following day as I was unsure of what would happen next to get through to someone on the sales team who was quite blunt and rude. He asked the normal questions to verify my identity which was normal and put me on hold to find out my answer. When he came back he asked if I was an ulster bank customer which I’m not and he told me because I don’t bank with them I can’t get a loan through them. All I asked was why was I sent a letter saying I’d been approved if that was the case for him to be very blunt saying ‘I’m only a human being I only know you can’t get one’ I was not rude to him, nor did I raise my voice I just simply asked a question as I was now confused. Poor customer service.

So far, our experience with Ulster Bank has been awful. We applied for a bank account at the end of January and had to supply basically everything about our lives just to get the ball rolling. Then we had to go to the branch to get it verified - twice. Following this and about a week later, I had a text message asking me to call them so I did and had to supply even more information - some of it duplicates to what we had already supplied - but then heard nothing for an additional week. Then, I had another text message asking for the information again...
What on earth are you lot doing over there in UB HQ?
After providing the requested information again I got a text message a few days later saying that my application had expired as it had been made more than 28 days ago and I now have to start the application again. Erm...
We did everything we were asked, everything was legit and provided very promptly, and due to UB dragging their heels, my application has expired?
You know what? You are not deserving of my money and I'm grateful that your flawed system was able to help us dodge being your customers.
