I have been shopping at SteinMart for awhile. The accessory department used to be so organized and clean but the last few weeks that I have shopped there it has been a mess. I want it to be like to used to be, I don't know what happened to it but it seems like there is someone new working in that area and they don't know what they are doing. I'm not going to shop there if this continues. And I will be sure to let my friends know this too. Please train your associate better.

I bought a bag from Merchant name is
STEINMART and returned because it wasn't the right size. I paid $ $61.82 and received $ $45.80 Refund. When I call to inquire about the difference, they say I had to pay for return delivery and they claim they can't return the taxes you paid. This is BS. Stay away from these assho;*les. You can buy the same bag in many stores for the fraction of what they charge (Burlington, etc). Stay away from these crooks.

#NincompoopUpdate: Poor Customer Service/Pr After the sale @Stein Mart corporate customer service. I have purchased 4 sport coats over the spring and summer. I needed three of your Stein Mart plastic bags with your logo on it to keep the sport coats fresh in my closet. The clerks at the Lakewood store told me they can't give those bags away I should buy something else to get a bag. This attitude should be filed under needs employee training for a nincompoop update... Stein Mart has a huge advertising budget to endear the community, and when an existing customer asks for a $0.02 trash bag with "STIEN MART" printed on it you treat them this way?
I'm highly offended at the stupidity of your employees and feel I'm being discriminated against due to being a senior citizen.
I suggest these employees get some "sensitivity training" because public relations is a concept that's way over their head.

I go here once a year for my wife at Christmas, since it *WAS* her favorite store. It was bad enough that I waited 5-10 minutes for 2 cashiers to each work on one customer! They are so slow at the Huntington Beach CA store, always, every year. When I got to the counter, the rude cashier said that if I was 55 or over that I could get a discount! I'm only 52 and normally people guess 10 years younger! I told her in a normal voice (some how holding back) that I am offended and that was the rudest thing anyone has ever said to me my whole life. It ruined my day and I will have my wife return what I purchased since I would not trust myself to be civil if I see her again. I will never step into a Stein Mart, will not accept anything bought there and I'll strongly urge my wife to also do the same, though it will be her choice. thanks SM for making my worst Christmas ever! WTF

I am a disabled, mid eighty year old guy. On Oct 11, 2019 at 4:40 PM I purchased, using my Stein Mart Credit Card, a box of packeged MK mens underware # 69194108, size M. When I got home, I realized that I should have purchased size L. On October 15, 2019, I returned to the store to exchange the underware for the correct size. I was told by the cashier at the front entrance that I would have to go to the far left corner to pick up a box of the correct size and then take both boxes to the desk at the far right rear corner of the store. I explained to her that I could not walk that far, and would she please take care of the matter. She was very unpleasant and told me that was the rule. Finally she called another person who did the paper work. The cashier then told me that she was making an exception for me, but to never do that again. I assured here that I would never do it again, as I would never enter a Stein Mart again. This is a shamefull way to treat any customer, not just me.

On your website you state that with an Elite credit card shipping is free with $500.00 charged per year. I have this card and have far exceeded the limit. For the third time, I have placed orders and the shipping was not removed. Each time I had to spend time calling customer service to have it reversed on my card. Today I called them again, they kept telling me it is a Synchrony Bank issue. With the Stein Mart rep on the phone I conferenced in the bank. They did say it was their issue, but when they checked with IT, they said it was not, and sent me right back to Stein Mart customer service. I then called the corporate number for you and spoke with the woman in Human Services. She gave me the name of Jenine Ramsey. I have placed a call to her but have not heard back. I was told by Kelly in customer service that neither she, nor her supervisor could address this. Also, Dwayne in IT, who was rather rude on the phone, would not even try to address it. Both Ulta and Kohls have this program and as you check out your cart online the shipping charge is removed when using the proper method of payment. This is a website issue that noone seems to care about trying to fix. I am a good customer of Stein Mart and am rethinking my loyalty. I will continut to put complaints on any web site I can find about Stein Mart until this is resolved.

They were having a buy one, get one 50% off. I ordered several sets of the same bowls. 2 hours after I submitted my order I received an email informing me 4 of the bowl sets were sold out. They refunded me the 50% off price for each set and gave me no discount on the remainder of my order. I would not have knowingly purchased these full priced. They bait and switched after they had my $. I sent an email requesting the entire order be cancelled. I was told that they can't, it's already shipped. Really? After 2 hours in the middle of the night? Interestingly, those bowls are still available on the website

I just wanted to send a huge Thank you out to the Stein Mart store in Chapel Hill,NC. The store managers Kaleigh and Betsey went above and beyond to support a charity Golf Outing that will benefit the UNC Children's Hospitals.The kindness and generosity from these managers was over the top! Keep up the good work ladies. The Chapel Hill community is so fortunate to have a company that gives back to the people that support them.

Purchased a purse online because I fell in love with the one my daughter bought at a Stein Mart in another city. I received the purse promptly. But, it arrived in a plastic sleeve parcel bag. The purse was folded over to fit in the bag - crushing the form of the bag and the leather product. Based on the packaging the postal service rolled it and placed it in my mailbox. It looks like it had been used and came from a thrift store.
I called customer service and they said there was nothing they could do. It could be returned to my local store or I could pay to ship it back to them. Unbelievable!

Stein Mart is my neighborhood clothing go to. Spend a little spend a lot, your choice. Great sales on everything from shoes, to clothes, to household, to accessories. Clean, well lit especially when you need glasses to read a price tag! Fitting rooms are comfortable and private. Northern visitors love Stein Mart.

Stein Mart credit card and Synchrony bank is by far the worst company to deal with when processing payments. I have been in dispute with Stein Mart Credit Card for close to a month now in reference to their claim of not receiving monthly payment. I checked with my bank twice and they claimed they sent the payment to Stein Mart! Stein Mart states they returned to bank said payment due to incorrect bank account. I have a confirmation number for the payment from the ROBOT CHICKEN at Stein Mart. They put late charges on my account and refuse any responsibility for this mistake. Do not deal with these people or Synchrony Bank!!!!
