I ordered some shipping boxes and packing tape on Monday October 28. 2019 and their carrier, Prestige, which was an unmarked rusty van, delivered them Wednesday October 30...cardboard boxes delivered in the rain, unprotected, and at least 3 or 4 of those boxes in the bundle were already somehow mechanically destroyed...I have no idea what happened but I refused delivery. I called Staples and they agreed to reship on Thursday October 31...but when 6pm arrived and my order didn't, I looked up my order. The shipper lied and said I refused the Oct 31 order! Chat reordered and said they go out ASAP...but the email confirmation said Monday November 4th. I just told Staples chat to cancel the entire order but I'm not sure I got through to the guy so I responded to the confirmation with a cancel order as well...and included an explanation. I'm done with Staples and no $10 courtesy coupon is going to change my mind. Perhaps they shouldn't rely on slugs driving beat-up child molesting type vans to make their deliveries. Never again.

Puchased two desks by Techi Mobili. Attractive, fair price, heavy enough for office use BUT each arrived banged up in boxes about to fall apart and missing assembly parts which prevented assembling the desks. Many types of office furniture use parts available at Lowes, Ace, and others, but not TM -- they use a cross-dowel that is smaller than all the others. So, call Tachi Mobili, expecting them to ask my address and send the parts. No. They send me a form, demand proof of purchase, photos (of the missing parts I guess), details from the product, etc. Wow. Missing parts is a good way to bring my review from 5 to 1. Good customer service can mitigate that BUT, in this case, I would choose minus 5 if that's possible. Ordered from Staples because of reputation. Will just use Amazon in the future.

I purchased a heavy duty HP laser cartridge for one of my HP printers that will probably outlast me. This is a big cartridge that prints thousands of pages. After a few months of printing approximately 350 pages, the printer indicates TONER LOW. When I called customer service, they denied accepting the cartridge back and indicated that the package must be unopened. Plus, the tine limit of 90 days had expired to return the product. So let me understand the policy of Staples - they sell you a product that is defective. The product fails to print the number of pages, in my case under 10%. They they turn around and say it was opened so that cannot accept the product back. Over and above, they take no responsibility and walk away because the product failed to deliver its promise just over 90 days.
This is outright scamming customers and charging them for something that is defective and then walking away with their fake policies. How do you justify this.

Awful. I deeply regret ordering my business supplies from them. They promised to deliver the item by 18.00 the following day, so I waited around all day for it, and nothing.
Then I call the next day, and they say it will arrive today or tomorrow, and they don't know what time, or if it has even left the warehouse.
I would not recommend them at all. They are using TNT for their fulfilment, and so, I can't recommend them either.
No compensation for breaking their promise, no gesture to try and apologise.
I should have stuck with Amazon.

I had a return and was told at one store they would not accept it because it was past 14 days but it was not electronics so therefore I should have gotten the 90 day return policy. I went to another store and was able to get my money back I was extremely happy thank you so much store in Woburn ma. Associates mike and Darrell!

This is a review for Staples, but it also applies to Office Depot, in that they are both exceedingly dull and uninspired big box stores for office products.
I am leading with Staples though, as it is near me and not out on "the strip." Also, I bought my computer from them.
You will find the most run of the mill supplies for your business or home office at Staples ... but do not expect anything that is the least bit fine or inspired.
Frankly, I miss the privately owned paper goods store, where one might find Cross pens, Italian papers and those wonderful cardboard office files that tied up with a grosgrain ribbon.
The "sales associates" are usually listless high school students who have no idea what you are talking about or where things are located within the store. At check-out, they will barrage you with a million questions about becoming part of their corporate club and BS like that.
All in all Staples is adequate yet dreary.
Three lackluster stars.

Service at Staples is usually pretty good and they'll almost definitely have any office supplies you need in stock but their prices can be a bit high. Just make sure to compare prices with Amazon and other office supply stores before you buy.

Every time I want to return something from Amazon you are supposed to send them an email to print your label. Some how every time I send it they never receive it. The staples employees here have the poorest attitudes ever. They are not willing to give you any information on how to solve your problem nor do they care. I work in the service industry as a server and bartender; if I have the displeasure of waiting on any of these people i will give them the same service they have given me. I would give you a glass of ice with no beverage and a very cold meal and a oh well attitude as well, and yes I remember what you look like.

Sadly transport and call centres let them down- received goods damaged in transit - still waiting 10 days later for them to collectt-same which I had to request- umpteen emails sen they Kindly told me I could keep the large plastic box damaged all sides and top - one cheap way of getting rid of rubbish- we live rural no transport and it won't recycle thus we asked them to take their rubbish away- still waiting - not enough space to explain the TNT delivery fiasco- If anyone wants this damaged plastic thats been left out for 10 days as they told me to do ?? then its free- for collection only sorry

Rockwall, TX store. Terrible customer service. Staff not trained in printing services department. Also, don't even think about going there with bulk shred unless you want to stand there and feed your documents ONE AT A TIME into their shred barrell (not the shredder, just the barrell that contains items to be shredded). Thanks but no thanks. Office Depot offers a proper shredding service.

Dreadful service. I ordered some stationary and 2 office chairs. The stationary arrived next day but the chairs were still outstanding 2 days later. I phoned to ask when they would be delivered and was told they were in stock but had not been "picked" and sent out with the other items therefore it may be that the computer stock level is wrong and the stock is not physically there. They would get a member of the warehouse to check but that would take 2 DAYS!!! to check, beggars belief. They had of course sent me the invoice AND taken the money out of my account. To rub salt in the wounds I was on the phone to them for 21 minutes and I paid for the call. Service levels are a joke, it was my first order and will also be my last, take my advice go somewhere else!

I ordered a calculator for my son. The item was not delivered on the promised date, or the following promised date. If you are in no hurry then order from them. But don't order if you actually need the item.

My bad for not reading all the reviews of this desk chair because numerous people who bought it made mention that the arm rest holes aren't even close to matching up. So wjy continue to sell something with such poor quality control?! Then, although it delivered the next day, the return had still not been picked up for 9 days despite calls and promises so I had to lug it to the store myself (elderly). They wanted me to keep it outside my house for pickup so every day I had to worry about it being stolen and rained on since I have no overhang. Thanks for nothing Staples.

Don't try to return an item and expect to get a refund anytime soon. They allow 14 days for a return and then promise to mail a "gift card" within 7-10 days that never arrives. Called customer service, spent 45 Mins and found out they mailed it to one of their own stores. Real Intelligent. They refuse to refund the VISA card used for the purchase. 21 days later I'm still chasing my refund and now they want to take another 10 days to mail the second gift card. What happened to the first one? Now I understand why I get the feeling they'll be out of business soon when I'm in one of the stores. You won't see me there anymore.

Jackson Hole, WY Too bad I can't leave a ZERO! Went in the store to try to return some toner cartridges that I purchased online from staples for a laser printer that puked (which I also purchased from them in store). When I didn't have my receipt the lady at the till REFUSED to look it up by my rewards number to see when I purchased them. She argued with me several times because it was too hard for her to look it up that way. (EYE ROLL)! So I told her if she wasn't interested in helping me I'd come back when someone WOULD help me. I walked away but my daughter in law stood there and she had the nerve to say that if I was going to give her attitude she wasn't going to help. The man standing behind her overheard and proceeded to try to help my daughter-in-law...HOWEVER, he informed us that we could not return something we purchased online. WHAT??? He said its a different store...EXCUSE ME?? You can now take amazon returns back to Kohls....but you cant take Staples back to Staples? Goodbye staples - HELLO OFFICE MAX!!

As an office product need this is my all time favorite place to online shop. Great products, price and shipping!Their delivery policies and service are very good. Their store sales folks could be better informed about location of items in their own store. A minor frustration.

Looked to match bins previously purchased from Staples - as they need to stack so the base needs to align with the top of another bin.
Did research online and found a few stores which were 30+ minutes away so I ventured out. When arriving, the bin matched the style number online but the product in the store did not match the online pic. Both had the same model numbers though. (Oh, and different online price which was more expensive... but of course, the staff said to ignore it.)
Sales rep called another store and cited the other store had 20+. I asked for them to confirm it matched the pic. Sales rep said they cannot do that. Spoke to manager who then asked rep to call other store and get a visual to see if items in store matched online pic. After doing so, they confirmed the item in the 2nd store did NOT match online pic. The manager remembered the bin had an upgrade 6 months ago - though it no longer allows stacking with the previous model. Online pic was not updated.
No worries... emailed customer service asking to find the legacy model. Their response was:
"I am sorry for the inconvenience. You can place an order online for the item. (Add info about how to order the item - though I provided them the link to it.) We can accept the product for return if it is not what you need."
My response was, "I want to know where to find the legacy item and NOT get the run around of ordering online and then return. I already got the run around from 2 store locations... wasting my time already based on the pic online. Why would you offer another solution to inconvenience me again?"
So it wasn't enough for a customer to do my due diligence of finding the product online, confirming it's in the store, driving to the store, having the one store follow up with another store, and then emailing them - asking for help?
They want me to order it online and if it doesn't match, return it?
Why would I be further inconvenienced. It will be easier to buy a whole new set of stackable bins from someone else.
Quick responses from Staples... provides a TON of inconvenience for the customer... and MORE cost if you're purchasing online. How does this company stay in business?

Horrible experience here as a business owner. I bought a small printer for my home office, the Epson XP- 6000. From the moment I got it home, I had nothing but problems. It would not grab the paper, it was confused as to what tray to pull the paper from, and the list goes on. Within two weeks of purchasing this product, I brought it back into the Staples store on Arizona Avenue to try to exchange it for a working model (with my receipt), and was told by management that I would need to work with the manufacturer. What he does not understand is that this leaves me without a printer when I need to conduct business. This is the worst case of customer service. Staples, being the company that they are, should stand behind the product that they sell. I was well within what I would consider to be a timeframe for a return. The manager of the store was completely unwilling to work with me and what he does not understand is that my husband owns 17 companies and has often purchased from Staples and has since considered pulling his account as a result, and I am considering walking away from this company as well. Try again Staples. Your customer service is so far below par. And get s new manager. Your business is suffering.

At the very least and and without exaggeration, as I can say about Shaniya, it is the ideal of a saleswoman, that any client harassed from New York City ,it could never find, great customer service as she did it! nobody compares to her! It's this girl, an oasis in chaos! always very smiling and agile, and with great skill in handling technology that leaves me open mouth!
Thanks Staples for having great employees like Shaniya
