We rented a house (Oddevej 1a) through this agency with a litany of problems: Filthy on arrival. Black rims of gunk around the sink plug holes. In a sink barely big enough for a child. The most disgusting shower head I've ever seen. The hose for the shower was broken and the plastic hanging out. Years of grime on the floor underneath and behind the washing machine. Doorknobs falling off (fire safety issue here too). No oven mitts. 5 sauce pans 1 (one!) lid. Bread crumbs found on plates and trays. A pungent smell of air freshener - one large sublimation block in each cupboard. Poison to mask the musty smells. No drying rack for clothes. The washing machine didn't drain properly second time we used it, and water spilled out causing a flood when we opened it. I would guess it's at least 10 years old. No candlesticks. No bed side lamps. Stairs to 1st floor is more like a ladder than a staircase - not child friendly, not senior friendly. Old filthy blankets in drawers. Vacuum cleaner and floor mop found in the wardrobe in a bedroom. Next time SoS - pick up the phone and offer a better property. That's your job - landlords will not save your business - customers will. Considering we're out of main holiday season, this was not much to ask. You've ruined MY holiday. Entirely.

Awful! I've used 4 different companies in Denmark and NEVER had these sorts of problems! Property was in a terrible state! I was very nice about it and did not make a fuss and they still tried to screw me at the end!
They denied that they were trying to accuse me or make me pay for existing damage but NEVER again.
Thank goodness I was the one left injured and bleeding and not my children!

The most terrible and traumatic holiday experience in my life and life of my mates who travelled with me.
We have never met tourist company treating clients in such a terrible and disrespectful manner.
Keep away from Sol og Strand and never book holiday homes from them, unless you want to have terrible experiences that have happened to us.
When we arrived to holiday home in Henne Strand Gøgevej 48, on Saturday 25th May ca 10.30 PM we could not enter the home because the code I received in e-mail directly from Sol og Strand did not work.
The first of all I called office in Vejers but nobody picked up the phone.
Then I called emergency number of Sol og Strand company 96 73 14 00.
Unfortunately the lady I talked to did not even try to understand our problem and was not willing to help us. By the way – her English was not sufficient to serve foreign clients.
She only was forcing me to go to your office in Vejers (located 30 kilometers from our holiday home) to get the key. But she did not even try to understand that our house did not require physical key (has keyless electronic lock only) and the all we needed was to get the valid code to enter the house that we booked.
When I realized that lady from your emergency of Sol og Strand was not willing to help us I called emergency number 112. In few minutes some guy from ol og Strand contacted me (from the number 76 11 71 17) .
Unfortunately this guy was very arrogant and all he could say was "I can't help you" and "There is no option". He also was forcing us to go to your office in Vejers to get the key and he did not even try to understand that our house did not require physical key.
Finally at 1 AM on Sunday 26th May we went from Henne Strand to office in Vejers but when we entered the office obviously I did not find any key for us.
Then again I tried to find any help. I called the number 76 11 71 17 and talked with another 3 people from Sol og Strand. Finally at 2 AM one of them gave me the code , but it was exactly the same code that did not work. After some time this guy gave me another code (after previous tenants) that could possibly work, but not for sure) . Then we moved from Vejers back to Henne Strand. Finally at 2.45 PM we opened the door (with the code after previous tenants) and entered the house.
Please note that we were very tired after a long journey from south of Poland (16 hours driving) and we really needed to go to sleep. By the way - all of us are guys over 50.
We were put in a serious problem by Sol og Strand staff and we were completely ignored by most of people from the company. They did not even feel responsible for their evident fault.
The first two people we talked to did not care about our extremely difficult situation. They did not even want to understand that we could not enter the house and we were forced to spend the very cold night in the car or outside. Finally because of incompetence and arrogance of Sol og Strand staff we entered the house more than 4 hours later the we arrived to the house.
Frankly speaking it's ridiculous that we were victims of incompetence of Sol og Strand staff and lack of concern for the client.
In fact we only paid for Sol og Strand fault and nobody from the company even tried to apologise us for our terrible inconvenience.

Staying in a holidayhome in Sjaellands Odde at the moment. House in very poor condition. The office in Nykobing got our complains, but we still don't feel the service or any help. Still 10 days to go. Poor beds, no curtains, dirty kitchenware, half a fridge (no compartments in de door), etc. Not worth the money.
A discount was offered of 70 euro when we should have left for the second week. That leaves us with a dept of 300 euro for nothing. Just one topper (no matrass) was brought while we were not in. And the shower curtains needed to be changed a long time ago. An older house doesn't have to be dirty, broken, without curtains, etc. Anyway, why not give us a phonecall before coming tot the house? We were nearby. Sologstrand even broke our privacy.

Dealing with Sol og Strand is challenging. Too many questionmarks, email exchanges, unanswered questions and so on which is really not necessary.
The house we rented was in poor shape of repair and to pay 95 kwh per night (for heating) is totally ridiculous.

Lack of flexibility and common sense.
Starting the vacation with issues is never a good start. I was checking in at 16 in the rented apartment, however i wanted a long bike ride from Rønne prior to checking in. Tried therefore to obtain the key first at 12 , and subsequently at 1330 from Sol og Strand in Rønne.
Even though the key was present, staff refused to let me obtain it, referring to check in at 1600.
Staff was not at all understanding and appreciative of my requests. Service minded staff would have provided the key, instead of leaving me waiting (for nothing really), yet empasized that the apartment was not ready until 1600. I have now spent 2 hours waiting on what seems to a general lack of flexibility and common sense , not to forget service towards the customer.
A highly negative experience and I will certainly not use this company again.
Last week I used Dancenter, which provided a totally different level of service and flexibility.

I booked a house in Marielyst area in Gedser for 1 week vacation a month ago with my family and 2 small kids.
Disappointments starts from day one and I have regretted my choice everday
Before entering the house, I found a wodden box full of bees around for honey collection outside the main door- full with millions of bees around. I made a call and after many hours of wait and wait and wait at 8 PM 2 people come, who couldn't remove the box. Then there comes more and more people but no body managed to remove the bees from that house. We were scared and regretted our choice before entering the house. Then late night comes an irritating old man. He was burning and smoking the bee box 4-5 times a day during our whole stay. Smoke was even inside the living room. Even after a one week smoking process- bees were still there and guy was just collecting honey everyday. We were so annoyed and felt like cheated.
At the very moment we entered the house, we couldnt connect the internet. Owner doesn’t know the password. So comes a lady the next day in the evening and gave us the password. And the internet package was for few GB download (which was not mentioned anywhere), and the internet stopped after a couple of days and there was no internet. After calling 10 times, we have been told that it is difficult to get an hold on the owner. So –No internet
Owner visited us the first day to collect his few things from the house. Is this normal? so many people disturb you during your vacation??
I had many many many more things to complain, but no body picks up the phone after 17:00.
Things become worse, when after a month, I receive an email from the company, that they found the toilet seat was broken and they will not refund the security. They will take 650 kr for that. (Extremley dissapointing). The cleaning man cleaned the house when we were checking out, and he found nothing. And surprisingly after a month time they found out the toilet seat was broken. We were cheated. This is just a money machine business.
Worst experience and lost trust. Hopefully people reading this review will not get cheated in future. Good luck

for many years we booked our holiday houses at Sol Og Strand. We always had excellent facilities and the organization always helped us out with great service! Especially this year, Sol Og Strand showed how amazingly customer oriented they are by pointing out how we could cancel our vacation for this year due to unfortunate circumstances, without losing our money. We want to thank the organization again and we definitely will book our vacations
with this organization in the future
