i've been getting catalogs for a number of years and ordered some items over the years, however, I don't know why they charge so much for their clothing. The quality is no better than Macys or JC Penny! I've had a pair of slacks that turned to some weird color when washed, a sweater that unraveled before I got it out of the bag, winter tops that were so thin it was ridiculous. I'm just not loving the quality of these overly priced items. I have been disappointed everytime. The clothing is very pretty but that's all. I will just ask them not to send anymore catalogs.

I have emailed the company to voice a concern about my recent purchases. I have received no response. The sad thing is... I like their style and sizing. The quality and price are the problem. I have a store within driving distance of me and I have frequented it. I won’t waste my time anymore. I must say, “goodbye Soft Surroundings, hello Creation L”

We recently bought bamboo sheets from Soft Surrounding on the recommention of the sales staff. The first set I
ordered had a rip in the top sheet and they did exchange it with no problem. I washed the sheets before we used them, as most people would do? and my husband and I hated the feel of them. Too hot and would not stay in place
on the bed. Well guess what, I should have read the return policy first, they will not refund money for any "laundered" items. Lesson learned!!

I have purchased many items from this company, most products were to my satisfaction such as style, colors, and quality ; however, processing time takes few days before item is shipped and then it takes a very long time to recieve it. I had paid extra fees for fastest delivery, still it takes a long time to get it. They should do a better job with faster processing and faster delivery.

This is a terrible company. I started to try to place an order on Black Friday but could not manage to get the advertise price for my on line order. I called Customer Service who also did not understand how to fix the obvious problem. They promised I would get a call back within 24 hours. No call back. The problem still existed Cyber Monday so I called the main office. A nice woman was able to get me the advertised price. However, almost two weeks later the clothes have still not arrived. I called again and was told my order would not be delivered for several more days. This was a real problem for me as I would be out of town for almost a week when it is now scheduled for delivery and the package would be sitting on my doorstep. I was told to go to the post office and put a hold on my mail!!! I will never order from them again; they are more trouble than they are worth.

Last spring I order a ton of items during the Sale. The first order was on January 21st 2019. I ordered 7 items but knew I would need to return 3 of them. I have been ordering from them for years and have always been happy. The return policy was all returns within a year. I always had thought it was too long but not my policy..Soft Surroundings policy.
I decided before returning those items I would go ahead and order more items from their Sale catalog so that anything that didn't work out from the second order could be returned with the 3 items I was already planning on returning. My second order was on March 25. I purchased 19 items. Now thinking that I had one year to return everything I didn't rush the return because the receipts DONT state a change in the return policy, my confirmation emails dont state a change in the return policy but not a shocker...they didn't take back ANY of my return because apparently they made changes to their return policy but I guess they didn't feel it was necessary to print it on my receipts or on the confirmation emails This is really unprofessional business and I will no longer be a loyal customer. Good thing I have an attorney in the family. Laughing very Loud. Bye bye Soft Surroundings...I look forward to the day your doors are closing due to Lack of business. If you don't treat your customers respect then they will take their business elsewhere.

I got my Mom a sweater fo Christmas that she never received. I called and they said she would get it end of January, it was back ordered. Fine ...Just called and they said they cancelled the order because they will never get the sweater in... was I ever told of this ? No ! Wish I had read these reviews before this...I will never order anything from them ever...

Bought a pair of green pants at Soft Surroundings that was almost perfect, so ordered the other 3 colors online, same style and size. One of the new pairs, the gray ones, were almost 2 inches shorter and much tighter around the thighs. Very uncomfortable to sit in as well as unflattering. The black and brown ones are better, but still not as comfortable or flattering as the original green ones from the store. I sew, and measured the fabric at different spots. The newer ones are just made with less fabric; indeed, I think the gray pair are a full size smaller. After reading these reviews, I won't waste time I don't have trying to get refunds. Won't shop there again.

I ordered a Christmas present in November from Soft Surroundings. No indication of the item being on back order and the website let the transaction through. As I was wrapping my Christmas presents, I realized that the item hadn't come. When I looked online at my order, it said the item was not scheduled to be shipped till February 20, 2020. When I called customer service, they confirmed that the order wouldn't ship until February and there was nothing that could be done. They said they didn't have access to inventory in local stores to even check for me if that item was in stock there. I called the local store myself and the item was not in stock. I called the customer service number again and they were in no way apologetic or helpful with the situation. Never received any email updates letting me know they item was delayed/out of stock. Two days before Christmas and now I don't have a Christmas present. Thanks Soft Surroundings. Won't be shopping with you again.

The zipper on these jeans is made of a type of metal that is impossible to zip. Very disappointing as the jeans themselves fit nicely and were comfortable. Fortunately for Soft Surroundings, the woman who helped me with the return, Raqueal, was very understanding and competent, or this would have been a no star review of these $90 jeans.

My limited experience with Soft Surroundings is that the clothing can be sometimes very stylish and unique with a flattering fit. The downside however is that the same clothes can be made of cheap quality fabric which does not wash well and pills. I don't understand why they do not use better quality fabric for their interestingly designed clothes. I guess they would have to charge more for decent fabric and obviously their profit margin is very high. But What is the point of having a lovely gown if you have to toss it out after a few months because it looks years old.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The decline in quality is typical of a buyout or investor partnership. I did some research and noticed that Brentwood Associates "partnered" up with Soft Surroundings in 2016.
I was a satisfied customer of Soft Surroundings for many years until 2018 when the last two orders I made were substandard quality, almost transparent fabric, clothing made in China, etc., while still charging a higher price! It is very disappointing, as a consumer, to be duped by corporations who take over a reputable business, inject poor quality into said company, and continue to do business as usual! All the while, riding on the coattails of what was once a company I would have rated 5 stars! Thus, leaving it up to the consumer, after unsatisfactory purchases, to put two and two together, while they make a profit on our ignorance of their questionable business practices. How unsavory and shameful!! Please! Do yourself a favor, do not do business with this company! By the way, they also invested in Chicos and Boston Proper.

I have always received lovely items from soft surroundings.
I have never had to return an item so I am not familiar with their process.
Some items you do have a few months waiting period, but they tell you that upfront.
The one thing I do hate is they never have specials with percentages off like my other favorite store Chico's. I do like their items better than Chico's, but I like the sales Chico's has so I end up buying much more from them.

I love some of the beautiful high quality items I have purchased from Soft Surroundings, and I accept return shipping fees as a reality of online shopping. However, I was certain when I returned two items recently due to defects, with a detailed letter explaining exactly what the problems were (no seam allowance in pants so they ripped on first wearing and a top that was cut incorrectly) that they would give me a break on return shipping. It never even occurred to me they wouldn't. I mean, I had to go to the trouble of packaging them up and dropping them off, not because I wanted to, but because they were not wearable. But nope, I still had to pay return shipping, and there was not one word of apology or sympathy. It was odd for a store whose prices convey the idea they are high end to show so little acknowledgement of a defect. They just said there is never an exception on return shipping. So just be aware, you may very well get some beautiful items, but if you get a lemon, there will be no concessions. In the end, they really don't care. Such a disappointment because I thought they were going to be my new favorite.

I ordered a dress, back ordered 2 months. Cancelled it. Ordered jumpsuit. Back ordered 1 1/2 months. Cancelled, but they shipped it anyway. Called company and they had charged me original shipping for an order I cancelled!! Refunded me $10 less total for a cancelled order!! I cancelled their emails and catalogs. NEVER AGAIN!! Back to Chico's. Much better company with excellent customer service. They are also way too expensive for the quality.

I purchased a cold shoulder top, quite expensive, and the shoulder seams and front seam are outside, the side seams correct. Rediculous and customer support insists it was intentional. Poor quality, poor design and nothing washes well. Made in China!!!

Soft Surroundings has been bought out and definitely does not adhere to the GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE that Soft Surroundings provided to loyal customers. I have ordered from this company for 11 years. I have removed my name from their mailing list. Beware, not the same company it use to be up until a year ago.

Despite 3 requests to exchange products, no reply. Shipped returns to them (using their label) - site says they have received the returns, but no credit has been granted and again no replies to my requests. Super frustrating. Sometimes quality is excellent - but lately, more often than not - pieces are crappy quality to match the customer service

Worst customer service! I wish I had read these reviews before I ordered. I paid $18 to TRY ON A BLOUSE!!!!! RIDICULOUS!!!!!! Called to get shipping straightened out but got nowhere. Soft Surroundings does not care about customer service or satisfaction. $18 for shipping is a CRIME!!!!!

Blouse fabric was very rough - poor quality. If you purchase and need to return, do not use their prepaid address label since they charge way more than the post office would charge. They don not refund quickly, and they shorted me .63 on the refund. I won't be ordering from them again.

I decided to order 3 items from Soft Surroundings. During the ordering process, I learned all 3 items were back ordered, so I cancelled one item. The second item was delivered on the stated delay date. It was a nice top, but overpriced for quality. I waited 3 months for the third item, as the delivery date was pushed back 3 times. Once received, the $98.95 dress had a see-through panel (not shown or mentioned on web page or catalog) and was returned. With shipping and tax, I paid a total of $110.89 for the dress and was refunded $97.94, which was even less than the actual cost of the dress. I emailed the company regarding this amount, and they came up with some sort of explanation. My refund appeared on my credit account 14 days after I shipped the dress UPS, using their refund label. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from this company again.

So I ordered about 1000.00 dollars worth of clothes midweek with them and I paid for overnight. So I called on Friday afternoon to find out where my order was! So despite them having my phone number to call me. They flagged my order because I used a P. O. Box for my billing. Despite paying for overnight and having my phone number they did not call and check. I mean really I paid for overnight that should be a clue I needed it right away. They can do nothing because that is their contract with FedEx. You could tell with both customer service representative and supervisor Erin that the could care less. I prompted them to call FedEx to see if anything could be done. You could tell they did not want to call and I honestly believe as quick as she was to call back that there is a strong possibility that she did not. If I had not called would have been waiting still. So despite having my phone number and big clue of paying overnight fee they completely dropped the ball!!!!!! I have recently recommended them to several people that liked my outfits! So now it will be do not remember where I purchased this!

My order took over 6 weeks to arrive. When it did arrive it was wrong. In the interim, I closed the original credit card I used to purchase the items. I needed to return an item so I contacted customer service who told me that if the card is closed the company would issue me a check. 3 weeks later I receive an email telling me that my refund would be credited back to the original card (which is now closed). When I explained what the original customer service rep told me about sending a check, I was told that there was no way for them to do that and they were sorry I received the incorrect information. Now I have to contact the credit card company to try and get the funds. They don't know what their doing. Don't waste your money. They used to be wonderful.

The last couple of time I ordered items from Soft Surroundings I was dismayed that after I got my confirmation email, I was told the item would be available but not for a couple of months. Okay, so I agreed to wait. Then at the last minutes I got emails indicating that they item is no longer available. Geez, I don't need to purchase goods from this company when they advertise goods they cannot produce.
