very deceptive business I thought I was only paying $1 for one month but you have to do 6 month plan for $26/month.

Scam £1 trial signs you up for £25/month for 6 month with £14 cancellation fee not happy

They won’t let me delete my account and are forcing me to pay £23 a month for their melted products which they say that you have to pay more for to have items that won’t be melted. Absolute con artists. They give you a £1 trial which isn’t actually a trial because you can’t choose to drop it.

Scam Scam Scam. Their £1 trial is a sly move and a half. Committed to a £25 a month subscription without even realising. When I went to cancel there was a very pleasant and welcomming cancellation fee of £14.

The $1 trial box unknowingly signs you up for a full six month subscription that you cannot opt out of unless you pay a £14 cancellation fee. The boxes themselves are also overpriced, the contents are barely worth around £5 instead of the £15 they want you to pay. Absolutely not recommended.

If I can give this company no stars I would. They are horrible. First of all the don't have a set shipping schedule. As long as they ship your crate before the last day of the month they are "on schedule". This means you can get your crate for August in September while everyone else can get their crate almost 3 weeks earlier then you. I find this unfair and crazy. They should have certain days where they ship. Also I received my crate with all my chips smushed because they crammed everything in a tiny box. I paid good money for my crate and expected a box so my items wouldn't be smushed. They also ran out of an item and gave me a replacement item that didn't even compare. No note or anything saying what happened. I understand things are subject to availability but at least give a comparable item and a note saying sorry. I also feel that if you don't give them a comment that they like on social media they ban you. They banned me from their Facebook page because they didn't like my comments. My comments weren't rude. If you have a problem with them and you let them know on social media they will ban you. This is so shady. I've never experienced this. Universal yums is their competitor and they have a set shipping day/days. I've always received my crate no later than a week after they ship it. They have never replaced an item yet. They ship out in a larger box so I never received anything smushed. I only tried snack crate because they had a drink option but it's 7 dollars extra and that itself is a rip-off in my opinion. If you want a good international snack subscription service stay clear of snack crate and go with universal yums. Trust me you will be happier in the long run.

They could atleast tell you before hand that there is a cancellation fee. Oh and there's no way to delete your account either beyond shifty. You think you'd be getting a good deal for £1 and see how things are and make a decision on weather you like it or not but instead they slap you with a commitment along with it? No thanks you can keep your box

Never heard of the brand before until I got a text off my bank saying they tried to take 2c then 5c and then €1 out of my account and that it had been flagged as a scam. Had my bank card in my purse and had never visited the site before in my life but they tried taking money out of my account. Absolutely no idea how they got my details or why but my card got cancelled because of it. Because of this I feel like should warn people about the site? Obviously if they were trying to take money from an unregistered account there must be something dodgy going on with them. Buy with caution.

Helpful customer service. Quick to respond to emails. I enjoy what I receive - although if you sign up it's not a cancel anytime deal, you are contracted for 6-month increments. So if you're looking to only do a few months consider the 6 month minimum.

Tried the £1 snack crate order.
To anyone else who bought it and wanted to cancel: Contact your bank and get them to block SnackCrate so you don’t have to pay the extortionate cancellation fee!
I chose the polish box. The main item was a large bag of crisps which had the texture mid way between McCoy’s and quavers (basically they tasted stale), a chocolate bar similar to a kitkat but softer which was nice, a ginger chocolate pastry love heart which was delicious, a couple of soft chewy sweets, and some bacon flavoured breadsticks.
They do a good job on presentation and the box looks professional
It was a fine selection but absolutely not worth £25 a month.

This company offers a great trial box that you can "try risk free". However this is all a scam is disguise. Truthfully you purchase this $1 snack crate only to find in small print a 6 month long subscription of £25 per month (£150 subscription cost). This makes the product obviously not "risk free" as described due to the fact that you are locked in £150 deal before you even try the product. Once I noticed this I found a lovely £10 cancel fee waiting for me. Please do not sign up and avoid this hastle. I want my £10 fee back.

I had a technical issue logging in to my account and wrote to the "happy" email address. I laid out my problem and stated that I was not a fan. They addressed my issue and my crate showed up well packed and with the most adorable sampling of snacks. I am now officially a fan.

CRAP!! Snacks were yuck from Spain and took ages to deliver. And they suck you in to getting a "trial" box, and automatically enrol you in a 6 month trial without telling you. When I wanted to cancel it they said I needed to pay £10 for the rest of the box. Not really a trial then is it.

You are so so shady!!!! A while ago you promoted a 1 pound box I could try. I did that and it was not as good as TokyoEats or other ones so I decided not to order anything. Come to find out a month later that I have been put (without my permission) on a 6 month box trial?! How does that work can you please explain?
I got billed 25 pounds for a box I don't want for a commitment of 6 months. I decided OK I will pay the 25 per month for 6 months I guess it wasn't that bad. Come to find out I need to remember on the exact date to cancel it otherwise I will renew for extra 6 months without a notification. I decided to cancel now but keep getting my boxes - Well what do you know, A F'IN 14 POUND CANCELLATION FEE?!
Absolute scumbags of a company. DO NOT buy anything from them, especially their 1 pound promotion!!!! BY LAW YOU HAVE TO TELL ME THAT BY PURCHASING A 1 POUND BOX IM COMMITTING TO A 6 MONTH TRIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is such a waste of money, the bits I got I could have picked up from the local supermarket for pocket change. Very disappointed.

Like everyone else I signed up for their $1 trial. I also didn't see the 6 month commitment because it was in small gray font. However I accepted it after I saw that because I figured it was my fault... and then the real BS began.
You can pause it each month and not pay that month, I did that for crates I didn't want and was going to just wait until there were interesting ones.
Well great in theory but I came to find out that their Pause button stays red and tells you it's paused and then once again in the Snackcrate-patented-tiny-grey-font it says it will un-pause on XX.
Well I missed that and saw the giant red button that said it was paused and trusted it as being paused. Imagine my surprise when later that month I get a notice that the crate is shipping and I look at my bank account to see that they'd effectively stolen $26 from it because it had "unpaused" but still told me it was paused when I viewed my account
I immediately contacted them and they basically told me no refunds, it already shipped, too bad-so sad.
I sent them a screenshot showing that I was under the impression it was paused and they smugly replied back that "If you look above the button you'll see that it unpaused on X date, our website doesn't always update the button to be accurate"
So they admit to knowing that the button is broken and deceiving customers and have done nothing to fix it and on top of that refuse to refund people it's deceived as well.
After a bit of back and forth I eventually had enough of the useless "customer happiness" rep who kept trying to push me to cancel early and pay them $10 for the privilege of doing that. I told them I was done dealing with him unless he's going to have his superior who can go off-script deal with me. After which I filed a dispute with my bank and then closed the card it was on because they've already stolen enough money from me I'm not going to let them get another dime.
At this point even if the dispute gets settled in their favor I'm going to make this the most inconvenient $26 they ever took from someone. If I have to pay more money to file a small claims over a piddly twenty-six bucks I will on the sheer principal of the matter and I'd honestly rather pay more than I get back just for the sake of standing up for myself as a customer.

I wanted to check this out because they offered $1 snack crates little did I know that they force you to join the subscription which was ACTUALLY a 6 month plan after you subscribe to the $1 free trial! And when you try to cancel they’ll charge you $14 cancelation fee because it says “ you’re in a 6 month plan with us if you cancel we will charge you $14” never again will I buy this piece of crap I like japancrate better no hidden fees and cancellation fees I recommend japancrate!
