My first experience with Nuffield Rugby today has been quite frustrating. Even though, I had a full walk around last evening and had the entry pass, it took over 20 minutes for me to enter the gym.
So if I have a quick 30 minutes, I would reconsider to visit.

I was talked to as a naughty child because I forgot to bring a padlock in front of others. When I complained I was told they did everything fine and it's me who has a problem Cancelled my membership. So this gym lost 39/month from me, plus 150 /2 month on pt over a 3 pound padlock! But now I have money for padlocks

Have been using the Birmingham City Centre site for the last week.
It is a Wonderful gym, with a wide selection of classes that run through the day from early morning until late in the evening.
Free secure parking for upto 3 hours.
They also provide padlocks if you haven't bought your own so long as you leave a set of keys or phone as a deposit.
The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna are great too.
The best feature about the gym in my opinion has to be the staff, in particular the reception team. They are all so warm, friendly and welcoming.
Keep up the great work guys and girls, you are a blissful oasis in the city.

If there was an option to give zero stars I would but sadly there isn’t so I have to resort to one (it is not worth one star). Steer clear of this place! I have never come across a gym that is so badly run.
The facilities are terrible, the place is never clean the management staff are incredibly rude not to mention the General Manager Ian Storer who is a complete disgrace.
This place do not care whether your circumstances change and just hang on to your money. They show no empathy whatsoever.
A perfect example we were told that if circumstances change you can give one months notice that is not the case at all.
If you lose your job you have to show proof. Well what if the company went into liquidation and happened so quickly and you have no proof? Nuffield Health in Cheam will not care. There is absolutely no flexibility or sympathy and without proof you are forced to keep paying the monthly fee until the membership is up. Well to be quite honest that is completely unacceptable.
If your looking for a solid gym go to David Lloyd as I’m sure you’ll get top class service there.
Nuffield in Cheam will treat you like a criminal.

Shady as hell. This company is unethical and has a complete lack of transparency. Leaving Nuffield Health to go back to Virgin Active.
The staff at Nuffield are rude, 'comment cards' and surveys are completely ignored. The air con and hot water frequently break for weeks at a time and there is no urgency. Gym equipment is old and broken - no one cares.
When the aircon was broken and outside was 37 degree heat during a UK heatwave I spoke to management at the Brondesbury health club and asked why I wasn't able to get a partial refund for the month because a gym without aircon in 37 degree heat is not useable - the management told me 'and sometimes you book a holiday to france and it rains, that's life'. Absolutely mental.

Very unprofessional company. Don't apply to work here. No candidate should ever be lied to about when they will hear back from a company about an interview result. I was informed that I would hear back the same day on a Friday about the result of a second stage interview. It wasn't until the following Thursday that I got a response and this was after I'd phoned up three times already.
If you're going to tell someone about an interview result tell them straight away! Don't leave them waiting! And provide clear constructive criticism as feedback! Not airy fairy rubbish!

Been a member of the Enfield gym for two years. Over the last year, it's been pretty ropey from the cleanliness, bits in and around the pool that never seems to be removed. Nothing to hang your your towel on around the pool other than use the two small seated areas. The ladies locker is dimly lit, so you have to be extra careful getting your make up on. The metal chair legs have no rubber guards underneath so makes a jarring, grating sound if you use them, underneath the benches are thick with dust balls and many available lockers have no hangers. The middle loo in the ladies is usually out of order and very malodorous, a bin placed in it to indicate it's out of order, there is a TV is set that's on all the time, loudly playing over music that was then set to some talk radio programme because the system was out of order again for weeks. Not the most relaxing environment after a work out! The jacuzzi was out of order for weeks, then the pool, then the gym was closed today because of leaks... Reception staff are friendly, but you rarely find a gym staff member to approach. When a new staff member actually advised me I was using the wrong technique, I was more grateful than I should expect to be. Paper towels and wipes never replaced regularly. The same old repetitive high impact classes, and I find the time tabling not the most thoughtful or varied for working women. At the entrance, I usually have my work bag and gym bag and need to prop my bag on a chair or table to get my card out, but never know if the chair that's in the corner bwill be there or sometimes a table. It may be a silly thing, but adds or takes away from my experience at the gym. When I asked if they were running the place down, I was informed by reception that they were struggling with the turnover of General Managers. Not the most inspiring of places to recommend to or being potential members right now!
I feel they should refund Enfield members a months fees for the inconvenience and shoddy experience we've put up with. Frustrated enough to write hoping head office don't discriminate against Enfied members. All this is making me consider my options.

Worst gym group I have ever seen. Been a member at Ilford installation for 4 years. And I have seen everything, Jacuzzi closing for.months, steam rooms out of action for.weeks, pool closed down due to high amounts of chlorine, lifts breaking downs all the times.
The personal trainers don't seem to care about anything, unless you paying for private lessons
I have written to base So many times but all you hear is "I am sorry this, am sorry that", but nothing changes.

I enjoyed being a member of the Croydon clubs. But leaving is expensive. I joined after 1st of month and did not get any free weeks. I gave notice on 14 August to be told that notice period starts on 1 of Month. As I had moved miles away and there was no Nuffield nearby, in thought this most Unfair as I have give the equivalent of over 6 weeks notice. My view is that a months notice should be sufficient. They could work out what I owed when I joined, so why not when I left?

I had a round of physio with them around 2 years ago, and was satisfied with the service. This is the only reason they are not getting 1*
Recently I have been referred back to them through my insurer. Tried ringing their main physio appointment service. 20mins waiting, no answer. Tried again the next day, 30 mins waiting, no answer. Tried a third time, 40 mins, no answer.
Phoned the centre where I had my last session directly. They were actually able to start booking me an appointment! Until the very last minute when they took my card details and informed me their system could not recognise my card details. Tried another, same story. (Those cards work btw. Nowhere else has any trouble with them).
So I suggested I could come down in person the next day to book over the counter. "What a splendid idea," the receptionist said, "That will work fine. See you tomorrow."
Rode across town to book an appointment... "Sorry, we don't take bookings over the counter. This is the number you need."
Back to the useless no-pick-up main service line. 30 mins, no answer. Next day, 40 mins, no answer.
Sort your bloody lives out!

The gym I go to used to be a Virgin gym, since changing to Nuffield, Glasgow west end - the gym is much the same, great big and airy gym floor with lots of equipment and space to be.
The 20m pool is good and well managed, the lifeguards are attentive and friendly.
The saunas are in the changing rooms, although the steam room is poolside and mixed

Terrible, horrible, old and outdated gym. Service is poor-lazy and miserable. Nuffield should be embarrassed or don’t care as was better as virgin. provide only one old towel for showers. Staff are poorly trained, unprofessional, they don't communicate , they dint know anything, .How depressing!!! No investment in the gym at all, it has the same limited, broken equipment for over 10 years. The changing rooms, showers and pool area are dirty and disgusting and you are likely to contract some disease from there. No wonder no one comes to this gym or joins the gym as they asking for membership prices of a first rate gym but provide a third rate service. Stay well away and join Virgin, David Lloyd or even Pure Gym. Plenty of better choices than this garbage! For over two months I try to cancel my contract and I did now they want money for another month. The manager on the gum.dont know anything about my cancellation. It is horrible. place very very dirty

I challenge Nuffield Management to try and make an Outpatients appointment at Nuffield Leicester. I’ve been trying for 2 days. I’m asked to press the usual ubiquitous numbers to say why I’m phoning only finally getting a short rude message ‘to try later’ and cutting me off. Now, I don’t expect a booking clerk to be free at any time just to take my phone call but other businesses get around this problem by using an answerphone or automated system to enable staff to ring back when not so busy. Come on Nuffield Managers - you need to raise your game.

Booked a physio appointment at Derby fitness health for my daughter, checked in at reception and asked to take a seat. 25 minutes later went back to reception to ask estimated time I would be seen, told I was booked in and they wasn’t sure why there was a delay. A further 25 minutes later went back again and they informed me that the physio was off sick and I should have had a call earlier in the day. Asked why on two occasions had they not informed me when I booked in and then returned to ask after 25 mins . They asked if I would like to make another appointment '!,

On Tuesday in the gents showers there was an old plaster off someone’s foot and a large amount of pubic hair in the drain. On leaving I advised the child behind the front desk who advised they hadn’t been cleaned yet!
So today 3 days later the same plaster and a lot more pubic hair are still there !
The chap behind the desk said sorry!
Nuffield’s are disgusting! Is this acceptable for the money we pay !
One wonders what else is lurking in these shower areas that may cause health issues
Avoid if possible

I joined Nuffield Southside when it was part of the Virgin Active, and since the changeover, the differnce are extremly noticeable...
Since they have taken over all they have done it hike the prices, reduce the creche hours and basically the response you get from the people they employ to represent them, if you don't like it you can leave...
Virgin empasis as a club was alot more family the idea of the creche was so that their members as well as the children could enjoy at an affordable(albeit it expensive regarding most gyms), facilities..
Since Nuffield have taken over, it is quite obvious that they find the whole idea of an all inclusive creche pass absurd, that was some of the first changes they made, hiking prices, restricting the hours, making it impossible to use, and once again when you complain, you are advised if don't like it, you can leave (Great Customer Service).. Maybe it because they would like to turn that into a Nuffy Bear Nursery..

According to me and my family I say it is s bad spot because the cafe would close before the gym and swimming pool. The life guard TOM was a really bad life guard because he kicked me and my brothers and sister out the pool because apparently we were messing about. He wouldn't let us even go in the swimming lane to take laps and made us swim were the adults with kids were and that spot was not even a large place to swim. People were playing their games in the pool that TOM (#SUCKS) told us to swim and play in. Also TOM kept looking at me and my bros and sis and didn't say anything to us cause our mother was up in the gym whatching us and when she stopped looking at us he would just tell us off and keep looking at us. FIRST TIME THEIR AND BAD EXPRESSION. By the way the rest of the colleagues were nice and friendly. I SAY THAT THE GIRL COLLEAGUES ARE BETTER.

Fantastic gym, with great facilities. Recommend using a personal trainer and having the health MOT's, free every 3 months. So glad I joined a couple of months ago. My health has been transformed. The help, advice and support that I get from my personal trainer is 100 times better than NHS physiotherapy.

Generally giving feedback at Cambridge club is difficult - either a defensive or patronising response or promises made but nothing changes. Preferred it when it was Greens. Too many issues to highlight so will focus on leaking showers that can’t be turned off. Not only a cost re production of heated water but the environmental cost is tremendous especially when we are informed in the local paper that the river Cam is drying up. What we are told is that members don’t turn them off so it’s our fault that the mechanism doesn’t work or it’s not budgeted for and has to be reviewed by head office. No environmental policy in place and so much for the health and well-being aspect. Obviously doesn’t apply to the environment - it’s all about increasing membership regardless of disruption to existing members. Another story. Shame on you Nuffield Health, shame on you.

Currently dealing with a very distraught wife due to this company's ineptitude. Better half chose to cancel her membership due to inadequate creche times - receptionist said that was fine over the phone. Cancelled direct debit - job done.
So she thought. Now receiving emails saying she owes them money, despite the fact that wifey had been advised what she had done was fine by Nuffields own staff - even her paperwork doesn't specify the mode of cancellation just the notice period. 'Manger' unable to resolve this, 'escalating' to head office.

I was a happy member of Nuffield Health for the last year when I floated between the Chislehurst, Bromley & Purley Way clubs but now that I have to use the Cannon street club due to a new job, I’m stuck in a living nightmare for the next 11 months until I can cancel my membership. Cannon street is meant to be the chains premier club and it is pretty dire and has ridiculous wait times for equipment! Avoid if possible!
