Don’t bother ordering from here. The site states they have the size you ordered in stock, they take out the $$ from your account and then 4days after you submitted the order they send an email stating they no longer have the size in stock. The website shows the size is still available though! Oh, and it’ll take 3-4business days for you to get your $$ back.

Received Obviously Worn/Dirty Shoes
Received a pair of shoes that had obviously been worn. Dirty soles (soles are white, so was easy to tell), ripped tag from the inside of the shoes, and obvious dirt/debris on the outside of the shoe (shoe is black, so was easy to tell). Called to request a refund, after being on hold for several minutes and finally speaking to an agent, I was again put on hold and then was (maybe inadvertently, but still frustrating) hung up on. Called back, had to again wait on hold, again explain my situation to an unsympathetic agent, then received a pre-paid shipping label I had to print out and use to return the shoes, which I did the next day.

Bought shoes online, received confirmation email saying order is placed. After 5 days nothing even thought I paid 20$ for fast delivery. The Modells replied I should replace a new order even though they blocked the money from first order already. Then never replied afterwards. Never got the shoes. TERRIBLE COMPANY. UNTRUSTWORTHY. STAY AWAY. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. TRUST ME!!!!

I have tried, every time I get a bad experience either online or in the store (yes, I kept going back for more!), I go back and give them another shot. I am completely done with this unprofessional and completely untrustworthy company. The last straw for me, I picked up some items for my kids sports with my birthday coupon on a Friday. On Sunday, I was checking my account and noticed Modell's charged me twice for that transaction. $72.38 twice. I called them Monday morning to inquire. I was told they would send it to the Finance Dept and get a call back. Tuesday comes, no call so I call them 1:30 and was told they're still looking into it. I asked what time they leave today because I am calling back before they go and I am getting an answer. Right at the time I said I was following up with a phone call, they called me. Told me my account was immediately refunded on the Friday but because of weekend, it would take a few days to post. I was okay with that, why they couldn't tell me that Monday, no idea. So.....Thursday comes, I call my bank again and they still show no pending credits. I called Modell's yet again and this time I was not so courteous. Asked to speak to a supervisor and they refused to transfer. The girl pretended to be a supervisor and told me that because this was not a simple return, it would take up to 2 weeks to refund. Unacceptable. They stole money that wasn't theirs and they could take their sweet time to return?!! I can't grasp that. This should have been a priority, this was their "oops" and instead of immediately remedying the situation to keep a customer, like a simple call back to let me know they think it's a priority, they act like I was a nuisance which shows these "oops" happens more often then we know. After I told them how I felt about how untrustworthy they are, I was put on hold and then told to go to the store and they will give me cash. Priceless... I can't trust them, only if paying cash, that they won't double/triple or whatever charge me, and can't trust them to fix their mistakes promptly and mostly admit it! No, never again Modell's. And I will be sure to spread the word.
UPDATE: So, I went to the Modell's store to accept my money from the manager per Corporate. Let me say, Corporate should follow the professionalism and courteousness of their Store Associates. This is why i always had a hard time not shopping at store #00114, Toms River. This has not been the first time with a bad experience at the Corporate level, and I have never had a bad experience in the store, ever. Looking at past reviews, almost ALL of them, their bad experiences came from Corporate. Maybe they should re-evaluate their staff and management and train and hire them as they do their Store Associates. The lying and poor customer service is a disgrace.

My wife and I ordered a weight machine from Modell's last month. I ordered it on Memorial Day so I was not expecting it to ship out until the following day or even the day after that. Still, I figured that I would be able to pay for two-day shipping to get the order to me by the weekend so it was setup for the following week. Well, it did ship out two days after I ordered it, but this was still kind of factored in as a possibility in my calculations. That is why I paid for the extra shipping.
For whatever reason, they decided to ship it FedEx ground, which made delivery take over a week. After verifying that I indeed paid for expedited shipping, I reached out to Modell's for a refund since it was obviously not utilized for my order. The refund was granted with no explanation and no apology. My request for a refund of my base shipping charges as well, since I would never have ordered this had a known they would ship it when and how they chose, was denied.
When the machine finally showed up at our house, we opened the box to find some of the flat surfaces mangled and dented-in. What I found particularly interesting about this is that the packaging itself, including the braces used to package everything, were completely intact. This lead me to believe the item was packaged in the same condition, which is obviously also unacceptable.
After watching Mitchell Modell on Undercover Boss, I was actually really looking forward to supporting his company. Unfortunately, it was not a positive experience and I would like to help others avoid the same.
