BROKEN HOSTING ENVIRONMENT. UNRESPONSIVE SUPPORT. I've used Midphase for years without serious problems. That changed dramatically a week ago when I moved an add-on domain from another Midphase account to its own business account and signed up for 3 years.
At a bare minimum, a host should have web and email capability. Midphase is unable provide this for my new account. When I attempt to create any email account or forwarder, cPanel returns "undefined: Internal error."
I opened a support ticket with "very high" priority and have called support many times. Each time they tell me that the situation is "unacceptable" and that the ticket has been "escalated to QA", but they provide no actual support. I have asked for a workaround, a different cPanel, or a different account, but they have been completely unresponsive. They have no visible way to escalate the problem to someone who can help. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told that "would not be possible".
I am frustrated and my customer (the domain owner) is desperate. She moved from a low-cost but working Midphase offering to a higher-cost and broken one. Do not make the same mistake.

Good service. Sometimes I did not get the answer I expected (I speak french so not always easy to find to correct wording) but in general service is very good. I recommend

A Critical part of our business. We often don't even think about it - it's just there, working for us 24/7. We could not operate without Midphase. Support is always great, the services just plain work. I have other web servers, but Midphase is my most reliable option.

Signed up for SEO services recently and will be canceling soon. Customer Service is AWFUL! (zero stars). I "chatted" with a tech and he said he thought the SEO wasn't working for me because I wasn't being hosted on this site. But that since it was the weekend, it would be better if I tried back during the week (so much for 24/7). Then I got a generic email from "billing" saying it takes "a while" to optimize me. Whatever "a while" means. Having been a business consultant, I predict midphase will soon be out of business with this ridiculously inept customer service.

Bad chat support. When I asked questions to a guy named Peter C., that's what was mentioned on the chat, he just failed to reply and then said a GoodBye and closed the chat. Poor Customer service.
never ever gonna signup with you guys, if your chat support is this bad. What will be your tech support?
Also, I see that you have been hosting illegal and copyright infringed websites on your servers.

In the past few years, MidPhase has quickly gone from being a decent webhost to the worst I have ever worked with. I am now in the process of migrating all of my client's websites away from MidPhase. Even the simplest tasks like updating WordPress plugins is a nightmare on MidPhase. I do not have these issues with any other webhost, it's definitely MidPhase specific!

After a disappointing call on Friday, I got a guy via chat that wasn’t going to quit until my problem was resolved. I was unable to ftp to Midphase despite having just ftped files to and from another host. The cPanel file loader claimed to have uploaded the file but it never showed in the target directory. The support tech ultimately suggested sharing the file so he could load it and that worked. I wish I had gotten him on my first call.

I have had nothing but issues with support for the last 6 months. I have been a customer for over 5 years with several sites. I opened a ticket last month to fix DKIM records, it took over 1 week to get this fixed. Everytime you open a ticket you have to wait over 24 hours for a response, then your response is one sentence which has nothing to do with what you asked for. So you reply, then wait again another 24 hours. There is no sense of urgency. If you call or chat, they ask if you waited 24 hours, if you didn't they don't help. 24 hours of bouncing email is not acceptable for something that takes all of 10 minutes to fix. And here we go again, just opened another ticket about email headers being incorrect, the tech said he would look at it as soon as I got off the phone.
Did I get a response, no. Chatted back about 18 hours later to escalate, nope, I haven't waited 24 hours. Some things can wait 24 hours, but when your customers emails are going into spam, those things can't wait.
It's one thing to wait an hour to speak to someone (which I did) and they fix it, but when you're told you haven't waiting long enough, that's different.
I'll be migrating all of my services off soon too.

I do not suggest this company to anyone - once you sign up, be ready for not so pleasant surprises. don't expect any kind of customer appreciation - been their loyal customer for 11 years - prices are creeping up, no discounts or even the deals available online can't be used. I had a 40 dollar price rise this year when I asked why, they just said prices went up. Only my price? I think their losing their customers, cause looking around here - there's a lot of 1 star reviews and people who are leaving them - and that's why they charge the existing customers more.
Miraculous fees are required to pay to get access to your files or to downgrade your account. Right now I'm paying over $100 a year for a plan they no longer offer, If I wanted to sign up for cheaper (less options) plan I was told I'd need to still pay full price - that would be $100 a year :) plus they required me to pay a $40 fee if I choose this plan.
So a cheaper plan for a year came to $140 and that's the best they can do :)
Scammers!!! Tech. support sucks - have been waiting for a 11 months for a call-back with solutions to name-sever change associated problems.
Be sure to make backups of your sites!!! these price changes and problems happen a lot.

The hosting itself may not be any worse or better than anywhere else but their billing and customer support is terrible. I am often over-charged and then told I will have to make a migration on my own to correct the issue.

If I were able to give zero stars I would this is the worst service on the planet. I have had problems since day one. Recently I moved accounts from hosting to just email and after 2 days my email went down. It’s been 5 days and still no email. They said billing didn’t communicate with tech. Nothing but excuses and could care less the business I’ve lost. DO NOT USE this service. Anyone can call me (wish you could email but I use midphase and they have failed to provide me my address) 310.989.1400. Happy to give you full terrible customer service story.

As a small business, it was clear they do not have our back. I received a notice to pay early for services to receive a discount, I did so but when the actual renewal date came up (even though I had paid 45 days early) our hosting went off line. We had no web site hosting for 13 days! Clients were unable to purchase our services and when we asked for help we were told, they outsourced to someone else and we were out of luck (literally, he said "out of luck" no one ever called or emailed to check up on us, except to tell me no to bother to file a claim as they would not pay for our lost revenue. (this was when I first started a ticket!) I ended up cancelling service as we never heard back from them. Service was fine until we had a problem, and as a small business owner I don't think mistakes are not made, but how one handles them tell us who they are. They told us loud and clear.

As a long time customer I'm leaving Midphase because I'm not happy with their various control panel systems and DNS issues. The repeated issues with my subdomains and DNS resulted in me contacting support several times over the last year or so. Each time the issue was fixed promptly, but it shouldn't have been necessary for me to spend time on it. Old subdomains just stopped working. As the technical support staff wouldn't answer my question why this happened I can't tell if they know the root cause or not.

Assistance and support has been prompt, professional, and nice. I am happy I decided to go with Midphase. It's great to have U.S.-based support team.
Critique: There were problems with the user interface not being the same view as the tech's view in-house. The interfaces should really be a single point of truth for all users.
A good friend who introduced me to Midphase has a completely different legacy interface, too. From and IT-perspective it is totally understandable how these things happen, but it appears there is some house cleaning to do.

I have been with Midphase since at least 2012, but have mostly used it for storage of a long neglected website. They are adequate so long as you require nothing of them.
Recently I needed to access the EPP code for my primary domain but could not do so because the domain was registered with a long defunct email. I contacted Midphase support for assistance and they referred me to instructions in their knowledgebase to update the WHOIS through their backend. Following their instructions, however, resulted in an erroneous error: "The values were fine, but we couldn't update the database." I contacted support again for assistance and have now been waiting two weeks without any solution.
I tried to go around Midphase by contacting the registrar, directly. The registrar informed me that my domain was registered with a reseller, UK2group, and that I should contact them. I did so, and UK2group curtly responded that I should contact my web host for support. So they have me trapped in a meaningless circle jerk with no control or access to the domain that I own.
I am basically being forced to continue paying Midphase and prevented from leaving because they are holding my primary domain against my will.

Used to be my favorite hosing company: cheap and reliable with excellent customer service. However, the server speed has decreased dramatically lately, which prevent me to give Midphase more stars.

I didn't realise Black Ops 4 runs off your servers christ almighty is it bad your Servers experience so much Jitter it's unreal. Very poorly optimized Servers. And for the love of god sort your ping times out they spike to the 200s then drop again. Would not recommend them to anyone if your looking for a server to host with look elsewhere.

Have been client since 2006 - but recently the quality of support seems to be in a desperate free fall. the login area of our site (the one that clients need to access to) is offline since Friday morning.
We made all possible checks and they give us "server error" - but they keep on writing 100% totally nonsensical and useless messages.
I even received a "ticket" for a site they believe is mine but it isn't! I wrote them explaining this - and they simply ignored my message, going on asking me to do this and that.....Really incredible.

Fairly painless set up with domain and hosting. Support was patient and helpful in explaining details of email and encryption.
