These people cause so much touble with their updates costing people many hours of trouble and in some cases great expense. They should be taken to court for what they do but they get away with it. I installed their latest updates and word and excel and outlook would not work. I had to delete their updates to get it working again. Very annoying. They should be made to compensate buyers for their stupidity and incompetence. But the weak and arrogant British government refuse to act in any way to protect the consumer. Your rights are only protected if you have money.

Christmas was ruined by continuously having to battle Microsoft store after we ordered 2 surface pro laptops on Black Friday but only one was delivered 2 days later. The package had been opened by UPS and we should have had two items in the box. I immediately called Microsoft and the issue was escalated - not that that made any difference as I heard nothing and had to ring repeatedly every few days to get an update on what was going on. This continued for 3 weeks and at the end of my tether I contacted a friend who works for Microsoft to help. Only then did I start to make progress. We eventually got the second laptop on the 3rd January - not in time for Christmas and despite Microsoft upgrading the laptop to the larger memory model my faith, patience and trust in the brand has been lost forever. I will never buy from Microsoft store again and would recommend you think twice about doing so too.

Don't buy direct from Microsoft. The delivery experience is shocking. They've chosen to use UPS - it is a well known fact that UPS offer an incredibly poor experience both online and off. It must be cheap!! Shame on you Microsoft.
I ordered a Pro which was dispatched on Monday. UPS do not update their tracking.... so for all of Tuesday it was out for delivery. On Wednesday it was still out for delivery but they counted it as a second attempt even though it never failed the first time. Finally I had a card I could use to re-arrange the delivery.
Microsoft shipped the surface and the stylus in separate boxes on separate tracking numbers and the driver only left one card. I was able to arrange for one item, the stylus, to go to a UPS collection point for collection.
Thursday morning the surface failed to be delivered at my house and the stylus is on it's way to a local pick up point. Of course I can't re-arrange the surface delivery until I get home to get a barcode from the card. If I'm lucky I can rearrange it this evening and it will go to the shop on Friday at some point. Of course I go away for the weekend so I won't be able to collect anything for several more days. What a poor service. You would not wait 7 days from dispatch for anything, especially when they say 2 - 3 days. Poor poor poor.
The surface will have been rattling around in a UPS van for at least 4 days..... probably damaged and probably not now worth having. Shame. I feel like letting them take it back and paying extra to purchase it from someone who can delivery goods!!!!!!
There wasn't an option to change my delivery address or select a UPS collection point, certainly I didn't see one and I did look. So perhaps it could be clearer if there was one.

I would not recommend anyone to buy from the microsoft store after my experience. Ordered a surface pro 6 on black friday and the money was reserved on my account, the computer was supposed to arrive on the 4th of December. Contacted customer support after 6 days when the money returned to my account. The issue was escalated and I was told that I would be contacted by the escalation team. A week after the order the money was reserved again. Called customer support on tuesday and was told that they would get in touch on wednesday. Didn't hear anything all wednesday. On thursday, almost two weeks after the order was placed I recieve a generic email that my order has been cancelled. Call customer support (again) and was told that the agent responsible for my case would get in touch. This time I did get a call back but the end result was that my order was cancelled and that I could place a new order (for 1499£ instead of 899£). They could not price match the previous offer since the money had not been charged only reserved.
In short, choose another retailer like Amazon if you want to buy microsoft products.

PC waking up randomly at night (Windows 10) tried probably all possible ways to prevent it! Why do we not get a choice if we want updates or not, it should be our choice to stay vulnerable or not! Microsoft should remove ALL WAKE TIMERS for its system and implement free choice of when and at what time we want bloody MAINTENANCE to "refresh", update our PC. Yes I know there are options to do it, but my computer wakes up because of "UNKNOWN DEVICE" that I could not find any answer to fix it. After recent updates 9 out of 10 times I get an error DEVICE STATE POWER FAILURE, and yes I know it has to do with SSD but it never happened before until recent updates! So 9 out of 10 times when I try to wake me computer up from sleep, it gives me BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH! And I think I will have to learn to switch off PC before going to sleep, even though I am working on my PC on a daily basis, and tired of saving my stuff, closing everything just to open all the programs, web browsers etc. Wasting time!!! With each update, this windows gets worse and worse, and because I was raised on windows PCs, I have no choice but to use this crap!

Simple math :(
I hate that I find offers and products through xbox live etc but when you switch to the UK site, you end up paying more and more.
I just wish it was the same regardless of your country. Darn yankies getting better deals :)

I ordered a surface book and started experiencing multiple crashes and inconsistent performance. Deciding to return it within my refund window I contacted support and had to wait for about an hour to speak with someone. When I finally spoke to someone they informed me because the order was above 500 they had to escalate it and it would take up to 10 days before a decision was made. Even after I informed the advisor I was within my 14 days period for a return, he still insisted it had to be signed off by an escalation team and that they were too busy to make a decission any sooner.
Poor service that has completely put me off trying their products again!

Microsoft is a money grabbing company who does have a good customer service facility. I purchased CDs on my account which was attached to my email account. I closed the email account and I did download the CDs I had purchased onto a usb stick. However the usb stick got corrupted and I had lost my music. I contacted Microsoft UK and basically they said they could do nothing about it since I had closed the email account. Surely this is theft. They sell you music online but the only way you can retrieve your music is through an email account. I have left Microsoft and purchased a MAC and any music you buy from Apple is on iTunes and therefore never lost. I will never go back to Microsoft windows - rubbish company.

Over many years I have had the need to use support services from a variety of suppliers of good and service. Recently I was in need of support from Microsoft in relation to the use of Office 2016 Licences. Never before have I encountered such a woefully inadequate support service. The system they use is highly segmented and regimented so customers are bounced around from department to department and never receive any actual help, you are just advised that the person you have been referred to does not cover that area and has no access to it so you need to go another team. Microsoft do not allow their support personnel to give their customers their e-mail address so you cannot easily keep in contact with the same agent. This must be because Microsoft do not actually want to interface with their customers, which would also account for the frequent attempts to bounce you off to the reseller. One can only assume that this level of complacency and arrogance is a direct result of the stranglehold they have on the market and I think it is time they were referred to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission with a view to forcing a break up of the company.
Good businesses understand that they should value their customers as the scource of their income and the key to their future prosperity. Plainly Microsoft have no such understanding. Open Office is looking more attractive by the minute

Totally useless, attempt to change my Skype password blocked. They do not assist deaf people with 32bit computers. Skype has never been as bad since Microsoft bought it, Do not try to use this totally useless monopoly, they really are bad beyond belief. Their score, MINUS 10 (-10)

The Microsoft Solitaire Collection was deleted from my computer in error and you would not believe how impossible it was to try and install again. Microsoft Store would not load either because the "wheel" kept turning without doing anything and the closest I got was a message saying there was no Internet connection even though all other programs loaded without problems. Despite searching for, and trying all the recommended repairs nothing changed. As it seems impossible to obtain the app. from any where else here is an example of a monopoly that is abusing its power.

Stay away from Microsoft computers especially windows 10, if you are in the market for a new computer please try buy other than Microsoft. I now have a back log of several computers to fix, this includes laptops of two years and older, business desktops also in this list are brand new computers just recently unboxed. Microsoft recently released a new update, called the fall version of windows 10, or as others may know as version 1709, the update is yet another computer killer/broadband killer or in most cases a loop release. The update will not install then loops back to downloading as install fails. Your computer running slow then please check windows update, failed update installation resends computer to download the lengthy update clogging up broadband. If you do an internet search the problem is abundant, windows version 1709 has flaws ongoing for several months. Solutions such as creating an os disc/usb drive and rebooting from bios to usb or disc drive is beyond most average users and in many cases still does not fix the problem. This is shocking for a company that has cornered and dominated most computer sales. This is after windows 10 upgrade from windows 8.1 destroyed numerous hard drives. Amateur's.

We had a power cut on 9th March and on 10th March when I put PC on we had no email my daughter contacted our service provider who found that the problem was with Microsoft and their tech support claimed it was because the registry had not been cleaned whatever that means? .
Why do computer companies assume that you are virtual reality whizz kids and why don't they inform you of this problem as apparently it can be rectified by the PC user .
The reason they don't is so they can bill you for £110 to put it right.
My local computer engineer only charges £40.
