Avoid this company like the plague. Apparently things have gone awfully wrong with all N Brown Group companies as of lately. Since Steve Johnson became CEO it has gotten worse. I think the last CEO stepped down because she was smart to get out while she can.
After a long fiasco with a Simply Be order that went wrong, now the same exact repeat has happened with Jd Williams. Its the usual racket. I place an order. Pay for it with my store card. The order sets there "processing". One day. Two days. Three days. Four days....nothing. So, I contact customer service. I get the usual "I am sorry....." routine. Then I am told the order got stuck in the computer system. So it would need to be cancelled first. The funds sent back to the card. Then order placed again. The reason they keep doing this is because of the ole "Bait and Switch" routine where they don't have the items you ordered. SO when you place the order again, the items wont be in stock on the website. It has happened to me. They then have an excuse. This is the reason why they wont manually go in and fix an order for you. Because they don't have your merchandise in stock!! I have seen items vanish while browsing the website. What a crappy company!
The worst part is the lying. I hate liars. I have gotten lied to numerous times from customer service. Only to have the CEO department contradict them. And then turn around and let me down anyway. None of them will be straight up with you about their stock and service problems. Don't look at the stars on Google results. Go to review websites and read the bad reviews. It is enough to tell you that the positive ones are FAKE.I worked in this line of business. And we never told customers with fouled up orders that they had to do a reorder. NEVER. That's the kiss of death with building a business. You go in and compile the items list and reach out to the warehouse to get things going PERSONALLY. The only reason why this would not happen is if there was no stock to send. And I think THAT is what plagues N Brown Group. And they aren't being honest about it. Do us all a favor and let Steve Johnson know WE KNOW THE TRUTH. If we're wrong, he will do something about it if he cares to. His puppets in the CEO office and the reps will do nothing. They are the "can do nothing" bots that have helped build a negative customer base.
I have filed with the BBB, left numerous bad reviews. And I am not done yet.

Misleading website , after going all through the process of registering for a first time purchase ( encouraged to order by offering 25% off) for new customer when you get to the final point of paying it will not accept the discount code as there is a minimum spend. ?why is this when you are also paying delivery very misleading

After ordering a dress for my wife from JD williams I was left with 3 returned direct debits! I spoke to my bank who said this was JD Williams taking an extra withheld payment. JD williams had requested 2 payments for the same garment one payment left the bank to JD Willaiams as you would expect. the other remained for 7 days in the payment pending tray which meant the bank would'nt honour our direct debits because technically it considered us overdrawn even though we were not. After speaking to 2 advisors John and Niku who I must say were very helpfuland promised too pass our compaint on and that we should hear back in 3 to 4 days, nothing materialised from those conversations a week down the line we spoke to Roger the most bombastic argumentative ignorant man I have ever come across who told us in no uncertain terms this was a fault of the bank and would hear no more other than to keep telling us it was the bank's fault. I for one will never order from JD Williams again a most unpleasant experience!

I placed an order for a couple of dresses with JD Williams April 7th 2019. The first dress ordered the advisor said it was in stock, the second he said was not in stock and that he would log it an put it on the system for a delivery arriving on the 19th April. He also suggested putting in the parcel another dress similar to the one out of stock that I could try if I do not like it just return it. This meant the cost of three dresses being logged on my account, (I assumed there would only be two dresses logged, and not the one that was out of stock) including paying extra delivery charges for an urgent delivery Tuesday 9th April 2019. This dress was for a special occasion event. I did not receive the dresses on Tuesday 9th, so called JD Williams to check on the delivery. They confirmed they had a note on their system that the parcel had been, delivered and signed for. I was fuming because that was not true particularly when I made sure not to leave the house on Tuesday 9th 2019, until the parcel had arrived. The advisor put me on hold and said he would call Hermes (courier responsible for the delivery). He then informed me that Hermes was trying to get hold of the driver but was proving difficult, as the driver was still out delivering parcels. He then gave me the telephone number for Hermes and tracking number to call Hermes direct the following day. I did just that the next day, but there is no telephone option with Hermes to speak with anyone. I then contacted JD Williams who said again on their system it states the order has been delivered and signed for, after explaining, (going online to retrieve product numbers I was, told by JD Williams that the codes do not match. I was ask if I was looking on the right web site, I was getting really angry) there has been no delivery I was, told it would be, logged as a missing parcel and a letter will be sent out to me to clarify the situation regarding the order. In the meantime, my account has increased by £455. I went onto the Hemes sight used the tracking number and saw there is a signature but this is not the right signature a complete fraud. UNFAMILIAR WITH HERMES AS A COURIER ORGANISATION I ALSO CHECKED OUT HERMES ONLINE REVIEWS, and was shocked, that there are so many reviews relating to missing parcels but what even more shocked at the fact that JD Williams, have collaborated with HERMEs. For anyone looking to use JD Williams / Hermes as a delivery agent think twice. JD Williams, I will advise friends and family to stay away from online shopping site.

Good service ordering by phone, received order within 3 days, no p&p as there was an offer . They had items available which I wanted although this is not always the case. I object to paying for the phone calls to place an order and the time taken to speak to customer service which means a more costly phone charge

Everything is okay, until you have to call them about a payment. Being recently unemployed they don't cut you a break. Constant calls and letters for payments. Had to change my phone number and not going to update my account information

They use a 28day accounting period/not a calender month, so added 60pds of late charges to my account.!! Never been in arrears and always paid the same day each month,/and never the minimum payment!. Ringiing them to complain cost me another £5,cos they have introduced an acess charge on their phone numbers. Of course they didnt tell their customers

They deliver quickly and there is a lot of choice offered in all departments for all age groups. I never used to order clothing online but on this site the fittings are true sizes i.e. if you order size 16 that is what you get and it fits. Shoe sizes also include an E fitting which is very helpful for older people. The website is attractive and it is easy to find what you want. The accounting service is clear and they also send you regular statements. I receive emails when there are offers so you can access the site quickly and not miss out, there is also online chat if you need help. The home and garden sections are very good with reasonable prices. I have just received a small green garden table, really good price, waterproof, folds away and easily clicks together. I would recommend this site
