I purchased the software for this product on July 17th and paid 2495 for 1 year virus protection on my laptop. I received a confirmation email with an activation key number. The message also offered a tech support phone number. I wanted to ask questions before I install the software. I spent days on the phone on hold and tried five different phone numbers and no one ever answered. One message told me to email and disconnected. I sent several emails and only got an answer about how to install the software with five easy steps which were impossible to follow. I chatted with three different agents. When I described my problem they wrote back and said they didn't understand. Finally I wanted my money back and told them so. The agents I chatted with still insisted they didn't understand my problem. I requested a refund 3 times. I have no way to contact anyone and there is no response to my request. Clearly I've been scammed. Also critical documents in my computer are missing. I would caution all consumers to avoid doing business with this company.

Award winning? And customer care for 7 days two tickets "ZERO". One question - premium awarded software and ads for google chrome? 3 pcs in one room on one router in one house and only one is fully functionaly, second without ByePass(not activated) for home licence violating and third complete no activation for home licence violating. Gold old system mechanic

In May I paid for a premium version of their System Mechanic software. In early July an upgrade was issued. When first installed, the program could only be found in the remove programs setting in the control panel.
Reinstalled, same problem. Now I won't install at all. Waste of money. And on their webpage they admit they have problems with the installation of the software and will fix it some.
Since I have paid for the program and now can't use it, I will not renew.
Stay away from this one, folks.

I genuinely like your overall product. But your upsell strategy in the software is really annoying. I've been making use of your of product for over a year and I get that you want to maximize your profit. But this is kinda turning it in a no deal for me anymore. I purchased your software so please stop hassling me in buying more in the program. If I want more stuff I'll see reviews or other recommendations elsewhere, but in the program itself IT IS REALLY ANNOYING.
Stop doing it, please.
PS: I'm not the only one, seeing other reviews. Change your f-ing tactics.

Absolutely wonderful. From initial call to problem solved was about 20 minutes.
The software and support centre work, and any problems I had are expected with technology. Nobody likes to be the 1 in 1 million, but a quick and efficient solution made the problem disappear.

I liked Phoenix 360 UNTIL the near constant pop-ups (Save 40%, Add Time Now and so on), they pop up while gaming and override the game and are generally a nuance, I can find no way to turn them off

In 2016 I've brought a licence of System Mechanic that, at the time, was the best system cleaning solution I had found, and I had tried a lot. Apart from the aggressive marketing that these days almost became the norm, I was pretty happy with their product. Until this year, when they had the sketchy idea of integrating some of their products into System Mechanic and rebrand it like Phoenix360. Sounds a good idea, no? Wrong! So, so wrong...
At some point (April or May), the updater installed a second copy of System Mechanic in my hard disk that led to erratic behaviour of the app prompting me to update what was already updated. And in August things went really bad with adware installed as a part of an update (AdWare.Win32.Vitruvian.gen). I've contacted the support and they were vague and unassuming to say the least, always pointing the other way. The solutions they provided me were useless and distracting... After 5 days of back and forth I've removed the 2 copies of System Mechanic and NO MORE!!

Falsely advertises retail software purchases. They hide the fact that they will only do an online "subscription", so when you go to the store to purchase this expensive software it will only work for a short time unless you pay them more. Functions more like ransomware than actual helpful software.
Your response is invalid. This is a retail box purchased from a retail store and is clearly iolo. Nowhere on the box is anything that says it is only a 1 year subscription, if it had I never would have purchased it. Perhaps you get to be well known because you try your best to hide these facts from the public?

I've been a paid subscriber to SM for years. When Ver 19 installs itself you're required to authorize other Iolo products on a "Trial" basis that you probably already have from someone else. Your prior subscription to SM won't work unless you allow the new programs to install.
They include a password manager, a malware program, other programs I don't want.
You've no choice but to install them if you want to use SM. I am pleased with what I'm using, I tried to use some of the Iolo products it now insists on installing, they didn't work for me.
Again, SM won't run if you don't allow all those you may not want to install. I've deleted it.
the reply confirms what I said: Current SM subscribers have NO CHOICE but to install all the additional programs. THEY CAN'T USE THE SM THEY PAID FOR IF THEY DON'T!

System Mechanic Professional worked great prior to the end of last year. I took them up on their offer to upgrade me to Phoenix 360. BAD MOVE!
Iolo took forever to deny me what I paid for, then in March sold me a 1 year license of Phoenix 360 that drowned out my System Mechanic Pro license, reducing my license by 2 years. I was recently sent another offer to extend my license by a year. As I still like System Mechanic Pro, I took them up on the offer. BAD MOVE!
That was when I found out that Phoenix 360 had overridden my previous SMP license. I was provided with a new keycode, that again didn't work. I ended up having to go through a thorough procedure to rid my computer of both System Mechanic Professional and Phoenix 360. Two tries later and I now had System Mechanic Professional running with the correct time remaining. NO way am I going to install Phoenix 360 and have the same problems all over again.
So after all of this wasted time and total hassle, I am no further ahead than I was prior to December 2018. I will be receiving my second refund shortly, since the company seems to be completely unable to correct their mistakes without issuing refunds. I also have never received ANY apologies for what has happened.
They sure don't know how to support and keep their customers happy, and there have been zero offers to make up for their screw-ups. I acted in good faith and in all 3 occasions IOLO screwed up. I am really surprised that System Mechanic Professional works as well as it does, but I have sworn off Phoenix 360. I wonder how long IOLO will be staying in business after what has clearly been a totally catastrophic software introduction/upgrade. The reviews here seem to be pretty uniformly terrible.

I bought it, it didn't work right, and it could have been my computer is too old (2013) .so I uninstalled it and contacted the company. They sent an email to me to reinstall. I didn't. I suffer from medical issues so I did not contact them again for 4 weeks. I told them I did no use it or reinstall it. They said they will not refund since its over 30 days.

Much like many of the good people on here I've had the same tired old experience of poor customer service and shoddy software following the latest update. Is it me, or shouldn't an update be something that benefits us the customer rather than create a toxic brew of problems we spend our valuable time on?
I updated Phoenix 360 (trust me, this programme will never rise from the ashes) only to find I had to endlessly reboot as I was constantly being told an update was available after the reboot. So now I'm on some endless mobius strip where I can't get Phoenix 360 to work as it needs an update but when I go to update it, reboot and open it I'm asked to update it. Yes, I've tried uninstalling it (twice), rebooted my laptop countless times, and 'reached out' to Iolo customer service with no answer.
I've paid up until August 2020 but at this moment in time I'd be happy to walk away from Iolo, kiss the money goodbye, and have a system I can rely on as this isn't the first update that's gone badly wrong.
I'm confident that a nice man or woman from Iolo will say something along the lines of 'we're sorry... send us your email for priority contact... a manager will reach out...' blah de blah, and I'm sure they may even get me back on track again after many moons have passed. I really don't have the time to be messing about with software that's meant to be straightforward and making my cyber life that much simpler, so it's going to be goodbye from me....

Have tried to reinstall Phoenix 360. Previously worked reasonably well but will not reinstall. Have tried several times and rebooted as well.
Last time I had a problem with System Mechanic it took IOLO 2 months to reply.
Why can you not have a Tech Chat facility like most other IT companies. I have paid until 2021 for this AWFUL service

Ive had this for a few years now and can honestly say it is the best I have ever had, I’m a fairly intensive gamer racking up some 12-18 hrs a day and the package does everything and more that you can want. It keeps my machine clean of junk, keeps it optimised and runs in the background for me. It’s also one of the fastest products I’ve ever used, one of the smoothest and all round great product. I’ve upgraded my package and the customer service has always been great, I don’t mean just when taking your money! I’ve logged a couple questions and ideas and they’ve always got back to me promptly politely and helpfully - something you want in customer service. Thank you

Have had this for a while, but following re-subscription in March and a subsequent update it stopped working. Have tried everything including a clean reinstall - but it won't even install now. Wasted my years subscription and wont be using this again.

I am stuck with System mechanic 17.5 in Phoenix 365. I've been told to uninstall System mechanic and reinstall it. Windows 10 Control Panel does not manage to uninstall the programme (although it can uninstall other programmes).
I wrote several times to ask for advice, and my mails where not answered.
If this continues, I shall not renew my subscription.

The product itself is working fine, no issues.
I use 3 computers (2 desktop, 1 notebook).
On the notebook I have the following issues:
- due to a small size screen (12.1") the iolo System mechanic windows does not fit and only can be resized in heigth.
- Installing updates is a bit cumbersome. Running is no issue, but there it stops and won't proceed to really install the update. My latest version on the notebook is 18.104.22.168 while the desktops already have installed 22.214.171.124.
- It should be noted that all these computers run Windows 10. Desktops are all v1903, the notebook has to stick to version 1709 because the newer W10 versions have no driver for the video adapter.

Words do not often fail me, however in respect to IOLO and their products and "backup", I find it difficult to express just how useless and incompetent this mob are. At least, judging from the reviews on this and other similar sites, they are very consistent - in the worst possible way.
I have posted a number of reviews on Trustpilot, as it seems that is the only way to get a response - it seems that a number of other people have had exactly the same experience as mine.
The reply from "support.socialmedia(at)iolo.com" on the last review suggested that my problem was with their "third-party online vendor" (who seem to have developed a new name btw!!), however the collection of monies and renewal of subscriptions is one area where IOLO excels - it came as no surprise to me to find that when I eventually managed to get to my account with the intention of cancelling my subscription, there was no visible way of doing so. The reply above mentions a setting to de-activate automatic renewals, which may exist, however I did not come down in the last rainstorm, and I have never (thankfully) given IOLO consent to automatically renew anything. I suggest that if you are dealing with this mob that you also take the same precaution. I am again offered the possibility that "I can directly hook you up with Support here in our Pasadena office" if I provide the email associated with my purchase. Given that I have provided the email on more than one occasion, and that I still have not heard from "Support" other than a reply on 20th January to a request I submitted on 26th December, for some strange reason, I am not hopeful that any meaningful response will occur.
A brief perusal of the reviews on this and other similar sites will reveal that my experience is very much "par for the course" with IOLO.
System Mechanic seemed to be an "ok" program for a number of years, however the current offering has major problems, and the complete lack of support is concerning.
If I had a business which was attracting the sort of adverse comments found on this site, I would be doing my absolute best to turn it around, as many people would be checking these sort of sites prior to making a purchase.
BTW, if you are reading this and thinking of buying any of the IOLO products, can I suggest that there must be a better option out there?
IOLO - Given the full saga which I have mostly put on Trust Pilot, can you understand my frustration at the way you consistently do business? Have you actually taken the time to read what I (and many others) have written to and about you as a Company?
If so, can you see that major problems exist (a) with your software and (b) even more with your "Support" service, so what is the reason that you fail to take any appropriate steps to resolve these issues - or does sufficient money continue to roll in so that, to quote Rhett Butler "frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" ?

I purchased System Mechanic a few years ago and found it very good. I upgraded to Phoenix 360 and believe it's OK. However, the fun started when I tried to run it on my old XP computer which I still use occasionally. Phoenix 360 is not supported so I contacted Iolo and downloaded a stand-alone copy of System Mechanic. It worked fine but at renewal time this year I repeated the exercise but the product key they sent won't work. I contacted "Support" and was told they only deal with Sales, despite the fact it was this "2-Checkout" that sent the download link and product key. Instead I was redirected to their technical site, which is so dedicated to avoiding any customer contact that it is virtually impossible to find how to do so. So far I've received nothing from them. I've now requested a refund on the grounds that I have not received good support and in any case I haven't the time nor the inclination to be given the run-around by this incompetent outfit.

I have to tell you that your help desk response time is not very good (pathetic really). I originally sought help from you approximately 2.5 or 3 weeks ago!!!
Also, your help advice is flawed and inaccurate and disgraceful.....
On 21 Feb I asked for and received a reply re licence verification. ......
I had been entering your suggested XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX about 6 times ( x's cover the real characters). It never worked.....ever!!
I then went to youtube. After 40 minutes I found someone independent who said the key was 20 characters long. I then REMOVED the dashes/hypens that you told me to include, twice!! ( leaving 20 characters only) and it then WORKED!!!
Your help was worse than useless: it was wrong and misleading, as were your follow up emails. Ye Gods,,,, between that and your pathetic response times.....woeful support.......please forward to someone who cares in your company ( if they exist). Not Happy.
(being posted on product review, google review, facebook, trustpilot etc)

Please avoid this company!
At all cost try to use another service provider. You will have a really difficult time getting in touch with customer service and when you do you will have to speak to someone from Manilla Philipines that cannot respond to your issue. The people that provide this service are NOT trained and you will have a really difficult time finding a solution to your issue. You have been warned!

hyperlink for tech support is a dead link.
hung up after 25 min on hold, not sure how long they expect people to wait.
has physical address but can't accept tech support questions.
basically, can't contact them.
Last update deleted the Incinerator program, can't reinstall it. gone.
wanted to add to another computer, which requires you to put in an email to retrieve on that computer to install. No email is ever sent, so can't install the program on another computer.
Edit: your response refers to a non descriptive single issue. Is the bug fix in reference to the deletion of the Incinerator program or the issue of not being able get an email sent to the other computer to install it?
2nd edit: when I use the 360 link, it immediately, without any information wants me to download a file. No description, no information, no thanks.
BTW, File folder says 360 but short cut and opened program says System Mechanic.. confusing as to what I have.
