Purchased something online. Showed up crushed. Called customer service and requested "hold place in line" call back. Didn't call after 2 hours. Called back and got through in about 3 minutes or less, but rep hung up on me. I called back and this rep refused to do an exchange. Even implied I was lying about it! I am done with these people. Worst service I have ever gotten.

Ordered several items for Christmas. Shipping in multiple boxes. They said large box was delivered on 12-11. It showed up on 12-24. Customer service kept telling me tracking said it was delivered. I returned most of the items because they were too late showing up. Still waiting on refund. They ripped me off for hundreds of dollars & won't respond to my emails. Worst customer service ever!!!!

Their shipping is extremely slow. I ordered 2 jackets online for my friend's daughter birthday but didn't make it by then. They did not ship out my orders until 5 days later even they were "in stock " and UPS delivery took 8 days to get to Texas from California. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM IF YOU HAVE A DEADLINE!!

This company is a nightmare to do business with. I ordered a gift for my grand daughter and was charged 3 times on my Credit Card. I called customer service 4 times and each time I was on hold for over 1/2 hour and then connected with a person who could hardly speak english. I then called the Corp. Offices and was transferred back to CS and a non english speaking person.

Really frustrated with hot topic right now. First, I placed an order online and ordered the wrong size shirt. I changed my mind and want to change that shirt completely with a bunch of other things (they had buy 2 get 2 for jewelry). I called this morning to change the order but they said, they can't change the order anymore once it's been placed. I asked if they could give me free shipping for the new items I'm about to order instead and I'll just return the shirt that I didn't want in store. They took my order, took my card info and 6 hours later here we are, I still have not received my confirmation email from them yet. I've already called like 10 times today and it's not like they answer right away either. Really bad experience. If you're going to buy from this company, buy in store or if you're going to buy online, make sure you get the right items because they're really ANNOYING to work with. So annoying I've gone into frustration. This is just adding stress to my holiday shopping.

I ordered a t-shirt for my daughter as a Christmas present. Placed the order the end of Sept, first of Oct. Was told it was on back order and they would definitely get them in and shipped out by Dec. 5th-10th. I kept checking on order and kept getting told it was on back order. Last week when I checked several times I was told there was no order. Finally on Dec. 6th, two weeks before Christmas, they told me they cancelled my order. GREAT. They are still selling them online at a discount even. They tell me they are out of the size I needed. I do not trust them anymore. No one else sells that shirt so I can't order it from some one else. You would think in 10 weeks or more they could have said something. 2 weeks ago it was still on back order. Plus I lost my 30% discount.

I went into Hot Topic on July 20,2019 at the mall in Destiny USA Syracuse NY.. An employee came from the other side of the store really fast saying "hi, how are you doing? need help with anything?" Your employee needs to give people some time to enter into the store to look around before they are in your face.. I saw first when she/he did that to my children and my husband.. It got worse when this person not sure if it was a he or she, saw me, that person came even faster to the other side of me, saying can I help you with anything today. I said I was with the people that "you were talking to before."
I was so annoyed and angry that I don't get time to be in the store without feeling harassed.. on top of me and my family following us through out the store. More me than anything else. the store was a bit crowded and I know they have to watch the customers in the store. But it was only my family and I that was followed through out the store more than anything.. not the white customers that was at the store.. I have three children that love anime and my middle child was looking at a headband and I took it off him. "I said no your not getting that. You don't need it." As I put it down that employee is right behind me saying let me get for you, I'll just put that away..
Now we are walking to the middle of the store and this employee assisted in following us once again. There's other people to follow but this person felt it was better to follow us.. Popping up where ever we were watching everything we would do.. I told my children "put the stuff down and let's go, I'm getting tired of being followed through this store." As I said all of that, that same the employee plays it off and says awe your children are so cute and funny.. at this point I'm very angry and I don't acknowledge this employee, I just turn around took my sons and walk towards my husband and my daughter. I said let's go we are being followed. now mind you there's other customers that can easily steal but instead my family and I get followed through out the store.. As we are leaving the store I see the same employee following back towards the front of the store..
I had enough this month alone being discriminated against in different stores where my family and I go.. this is the third store I have reported. These other stores were not hot topic but still the same thing being judged for being black and/or brown.. I had enough and I'm not going to let this go anymore.. I know this person is not going to get fired, just like the other stores that didn't fire the racist employees they have.. but I'm not going to stay silent anymore..
This why I stay home because I'm tired of dealing with people who like to discriminate against people like my family and I all because we look different from them and think that my people are the only people that steal.. when white customers are bigger thief because no one judges them or follows them throughout the store..
I'm posting anywhere I can so people can know what to expect when your shopping while brown and black in America.

My 16 year old daughter visited the Westshore Mall Hot Topic Tampa store today and none of us will ever be back to this location or any other Hot Topic store based on the actions of a hateful evil employee and the lack of action from their bias liberal corporate office in liberal California! Unfortunately, She was shopping with another 16 year old friend only to be confronted with a psychotic hate fest of our President Trump, religion and the bible from a complete mental case employee along with him pushing his gay marriage and gay lifestyle on these two minors, This rant went on for quite sometime throughout the store until they finally had to leave because of his lunacy. They showed complete restraint and respect for this lunatic as that's how conservatives act and they were taught! I was informed of the employee's actions and called corporate headquarters to discuss the inappropriate conversation and rants of this employee! I was told they would obtain all the information from me and refer to the district manager to contact me back for further discussion. I provided all my information and she began to tell him what was said. He immediately defended the employee especially with his rants about the LBGTQ community and said that's not a concern of the company. I informed him that I have nothing against the LBGTQ community but I have a problem with him as an employee spewing his sexual preference with having a husband to my child while she is shopping. I'm sure my call will not go anywhere since corporate employees condone this type of employee harassment and beliefs pushed onto customers! Disgraceful and we won't be shopping there ever again! I wish I could give a zero star because one star is one too many!!!!

Staff in Alpharetta, Ga don't know their own return policy. Wouldn't let me exchange the same exact shirt for a different size two days after the 30 day mark. Permissible exchange based on receipts language. Manager called me a liar to my face and wouldn't help me out because it's "corporate policy." Obviously taking care of the customer doesn't matter to this $#*! hole. Never shopping here again and complained to their district manager.

I recently purchased a nose ring from here that wasn't even capable of going into a piercing. Totally flawed jewlery. I tried leaving a review to warn others about buying the product for an actual piercing (I even recommended purchasing if you just wanted a fake clip-on style ring) and they keep telling me my review has been moderated and doesn't meet their standards. Sounds to me like someone is just trying to cover their ass.

Despite what the website may tell you, items that you add to your cart may not be in stock. They send the confirmation e-mail and everything. They only notify you that the items are not in stock days later. The site even states that there are (*amount*) available. Doesn't make it a very good site to purchase gifts, but if what you ordered basically just came out and isn't on sale, chances are you're fine. However, if you wanna order something on sale, there's a high chance that what you want will no longer be available. Had 2 items cancelled, and finally a third one went through. Customer service is also hit or miss. The first agent I got was fantastic, but the second one was barely understandable.

I placed an order on 11/23/18 which apparently got lost, okay, it happens, no big deal. I follow up with them Dec 3rd after confirming with USPS that it never even made it to their facility (it was stuck in pre-shipment status for awhile), I'm told I can get a replacement with free expedited shipping. 24 hours later I get another email that one item isn't in stock anymore, no big deal it happens, I tell them what I want as replacement and they assure me it will get shipped out that day. I (Mind you the person telling me its out of stock was a totally different person) inquire about the expedited shipping and receive zero response. So, I get an email that my new order was received on Dec 5th, but no update on shipping (I'm writing this Dec 9th) so I finally send another email, but get a bit antsy and just call. Come to find out -one- item shipped, standard shipping. The other one -might- ship tomorrow from another warehouse. I'm beyond livid. It's not like I asked for expedited, but if you're gonna offer it, at least hold up on your end. After this I am 100% done with hottopic and all their affiliates because this is not the first time i've had problems just receiving a simple package, I figured after a few years they would have ya know gotten better.

First off, I have to say that I have been a loyal customer to Hot Topic for YEARS, but that has changed as of today! I am so frustrated right now, because of this awful situation! So I made an online order yesterday, and according to the website, the shirt was in stock. So what happened is that I got an email today (the next day after I placed the order), and I was told that my order had been cancelled! And I wasn't even given a reason as to why! I know my credit card has sufficient funds, because I wouldn't have paid for it if I didn't have the money. So I was very confused and frustrated to say the least. So I had to call customer service and I was told by the representative that apparently the shirt that I ordered was OUT OF STOCK! I was telling him it clearly wasn't saying that on the website, because it showed that there were 3 shirts left in my size AND they had already charged my credit card! The rep. kept saying that the website is not live, so it is possible that the shirt was already out of stock before I bought it, but that wasn't the case because I even refreshed the website and checked how many shirts are available in my size before checking out and there were still some left! Now Hot Topic HAS MY MONEY and I don't even have my shirt! The rep. said that I should get my money back in 5-7 business days! I was like WHAT?! Why should I have to wait to get my money back and I am apparently not even getting my shirt! My advice to new or loyal customers would be to NEVER buy your items on the website in order to prevent the same situation. Just buy from your local store if you really want to, but honestly I know that won't do that either! And another thing, one time I order another shirt not long ago and my online order took over 2 weeks to arrive, and I live in the U.S.! This treatment is very unacceptable! Hot Topic I am SO DISAPPOINTED IN YOU, and if I could give you guys zero stars I would. Shame on you guys!

They have been giving me the run around for over a month. Charged me, sent a tracking number that doesn't work. Now a month later they have decided my order is lost, but they can't issue a refund until the store marks it as "picked up"? Hands down the absolute worst service I have encountered.

My last order was delivered right on time and everything fit perfectly well. The communication was prompt and efficient. I had some issues with Hot Topic in the past, but I am willing to shop there from time to time. They have a great selection of clothes and accessories.

These people are scammers. I ordered a package online. First they sent me the wrong order and when I asked to please send me the right one, they told me that some of the things I ordered were no longer on stock. They told me they would refund me the money but they never did. It is a shame that they have such a poor organization, so dissapointed. If you don't want to loose money please don't buy here.

I went to hot topic for the first time in months and signed the clipboard for my hot topic cash. Later that night I received a text from a random number asking if I want to be friends and if I worked at hot topic. The only thing I can assume is that they saw me write down my number and copied my number down to text me. I was very uncomfortable and lucky enough that he left me alone after I told him to. I brought this up to a manager and she said she would let corporate know. However, nothing has been done. They could easily cover the clipboard as people sign or remove it from the counter after people sign but their excuse was there isn't enough space to remove it from the counter and their boss told them to leave it out. Hot topic does not care if people's info is accessed by other customers or that someone could easily be stalked by knowing their full name and number. DO NOT SIGN THE CLIPBOARD!

In December I ordered several items for my boys for Christmas. It was shipped piecemeal over several weeks. I was still waiting for the last pair of jeans when my account online said everything had arrived. They did finally arrive a few days later, but in the meantime, there is literally NO ONE to contact about concerns. I placed another order early this month of two pairs of jeans for my son and a cheap tote bag so I could get 20% off everything. No emails from them about shipping or processing or anything. I log in to see what's going on and my order has just "disappeared" like it never existed. Luckily it doesn't look like I was ever charged either. If you like their stuff find a store to visit. DO NOT order from the website.
