Everything you need to have your own web site, I think. If you understand web pages and domains then Hostgator is for you. If you're new to web pages and domains, maybe a class or two before looking for a host would be very wise as the Hostgator web site is very confusing.

Worst and most unethical company ever.
Have been trying to cancel this service for over a year but still being charged.
The person on live chat ensured that the account is canceled and I won’t be charged but the charges have continued.
It’s impossible to go to the cancelation page online because it doesn’t open.
Been sending emails to them.
Not possible to cancel or stop the charges which is unthinkable!!!
Don’t get trapped by them.

Absolutely useless support. I have to spend hours on the phone talking to support agents that have no idea what they are doing. After I finally get through their stupidity to a second-tier support agent they just close the ticket with some useless change like changing the permissions when the error we are experiencing is written in the damn log to which I have given the exact command to access.
They just ignored all of our problems. We get to finally say goodbye to this horrible service and get to a decent hosting provider.

We've been with HostGator for over 4 years and this past year we moved from a VPS to a Dedicated Server. The process was lengthy but the HostGator team was helpful, responsive and got the job done!

I've been hosted by HostGator for several years now and they're hosting service is just like any other web hosting service out there, it's alright. I recently moved my domains from mydomain.com to HostGator and what a terrible idea, the domain management for HostGator sucks ass, it's literally coming from an automated process to one that you have to deal with support so they can manually fix the domain right. Such a hassle.

Our company's website was hacked right before we attended a national conference. When I first contacted them, the agent was very friendly and patient and promised that they would bring back our saved files soon, and would also recommend some security package. However, it has been over a week, no single progress has been made, and no recommendation and no answer!!! --- come on, we would like to pay!!! -- I have called 4 times, and everytime, I had to explained the same story again and again, and have to wait for long time for each agent to pull out the files, and everytime, I was told the problem would be resolved. The third time when I was calling, the agent whose name is Emily, promised that it would be done by the end of the day and I could contact her anytime if the problem was still not being solved. I waited the next day and called in. Emily was not reachable and no responsive, so I had to repeat the whole story again to the 4th friendly agent.
It has caused negative impact on our company's business. Yes, all their agents are very friendly, but don't be fooled by the friendly attitude and service survey, because at the end, what really matters is how efficient they can REALLY help you and solve your problem!!!

Run away from this company. I was with them for years but found that using Work Press was not user-friendly at all. Hostgator wanted around $400 to help fix a few minor annoyances I had in Word Press. I decided to go with another hosting company and another much friendlier platform. I paid Hostgator a $190 renewal for two years. They hosted me for 60 days. I requested a partial refund when I changed hosting services; they stated that I was over the 45-day period and there would be no refund. Don’t waste your money with this greedy company.

Their service is terrible. I started hosting a site with them in 2013 and then it kept crashing. Tech support used to be good back then but then over the years, tech support seemed to get outsourced to lower skilled workers. I switched to a new server years later and never had an issue with fast website speeds.
I decided to give Hostgator another chance in 2016 and hosted another site there. Problems again. My site kept getting attacked by bots, so Hostgator recommended I add Cloudflare. I added this then the site kept crashing with 521 Errors. Cloudflare said its because of firewall settings with Hostgator and to whitelist their IPs. I contacted tech support and they had no clue what I was talking about or how to do it. The ticket had to be escalated. The 521 Errors kept happening and are still happening. Hostgator then claimed they fixed the issue. It's still happening. They told me just the other day to update Wordpress and my plugins. I did that and now I can't access WP-Admin. I'm on the Live Chat tech support now and they still can't help me and now I can't access the admin panel of my e-commerce site. I'm going to switch to a different host company once I get back in WP-Admin...if this technician can even solve it.
UPDATE: The tech screwed up my website severely. Now it just shows random code. I gave them my email and phone number. I called Hostgator and am sitting on hold for the past 15 minutes. Customers on my website are flipping out and demanding refunds. I'm flipping out from this nonsense
UPDATE: I was on the phone with tech support for over an hour and he still wasn't able to completely fix my website. After replying back with my phone number, the escalation team reached out. The escalation team then did everything they could to finally fix my website and get everything up and running again.

They are still great company for me no matter what and I really do hope that you can somehow watch them in near future for all your needs anyway. What else can really be done if their service is so damn bad ? I assume you should complain somewhere to that.

I was pleased that HostGator caught the fact that my site had been hacked and locked it up. However, I have fixed the site and sent numerous messages to ask that it be reviewed and unlocked, with no response.

I was able to build my site, which has many photos, corresponding dialogue and a store with a shopping cart easily and quickly. I love the drag and drop feature and the flexible page structure. I changed font sizes easily and I'm very happy with how easily it was to publish and to modify the site. I am featuring the books I have written and my nature photographs and poetry.

Host Gator handled the transfer and setup of my site without issue and it is working great. I did have to contact their support a few times, but every time they were super friendly. The only issue I ran into is it wasn't working from my local network and I was told by support that since it was working on their end it was an issue with my network. Overall it took me over a week to diagnose, but what had ended up happening is my IP address was put on the IP block list during the transfer. This was definitely something that Host Gator could have helped me diagnose, but instead they pushed the problem back on me.
After resolving that issue, the hosting is going great, love the FTP and the friendly customer support that is easy to access.

Hostgator has been one of the best experiences ever, and I'm not only talking about the service by itself as a hosting provider (and yeap, it rocks, it's one of the best if not the best one), but also their customer experience, the response time, knowledge of people working behind scenes helping you, it's just AMAZING! I bought "Business Cloud" Server for more than a year, which is one of their premium server. In short its awful because Hostgator itself is awful.
They always oversell their packages and their server crush most of time. Now for maybe thousands time all my websites in 2 different "Business Cloud" server is slow and not accessible more than 24 hours... never trust them. Maximum load of my site is 15-20 person in one time, they tell me go make upgrade to VDS VPS... I dont trust them at all.
Not: GtMetrix score of my site is 97%...needless to say anything

I think that the problem for me, and you can revise is the translation of the site to support to your customer service, i speak spanish and for me it's a little bit hard express me in the way that i want in english when i need support in something. That's all for now :) and thank you for read this.
