I have been with HFS for TWENTY years. I had purchased two vehicles and leased 5! During the COVID-19 crisis, I was recently late on a payment. In TWENTY years, I had NEVER been late on a payment, and yet, they were totally unforgiving. I was 30 days late and they immediately reported it to Experian. They were totally unforgiving. They state on their website that they are there to help customers who are facing hardship through COVID-10, but apparently not customers who have been making business with them this long!

So I had 2 auto loans. Things got rough and was unable to keep one. Matt who works for Northern California Honda Financial kept calling me. I said come get it, I can't afford it. He said "No, I will not lose out on $10,000 you will figure this out!" Well I couldn't figure it out so he calls my GM at work and tells him to get me to pay for the car. He jeopardized my job! So they get the car finally after me telling him to come get it for months now. Matt takes that money that is owed and puts it on my other car loan, which is illegal. I called him out on it and threw a fit because of the way he is doing business. Kid you not, a month after that I come out to find my other car gone. Matt had that one repoed too for what? Good question. I called and said what is going on. They said well you're late, I said no I paid December 20th. They said well if you want your car back you'll need to pay your payment and repo, storage fees etc. I said what will that be and was told $1391. So this Matt guy went out of his way to make sure I got punished because he lost out on $10k so he took both cars one of which is in good standing. I'm seeking legal advise now and will make sure Matt doesn't work for Honda ever again.

After leasing several vehicles through Honda Financial Services, when it was time to turn in my vehicle I went with another brand.
Four leases later I returned my Honda Civic and was told there is a fee. I requested they wave it since the vehicle was way under mileage and had a full tank of gas. They reviewed my account....so after making all payments on time because I disputed the return policy, I paid the amount due. I had no idea they would regard that as a LATE payment and it went on my credit report.
Regardless, of the fact that all other payments for years were made on all my leases they marked my account as late.
Trying to get my account cleared for that infraction is now a nightmare.....
I WILL NEVER AGAIN LEASE OR PURCHASE ANOTHER HONDA!!!!!!!!!!!!
DON'T DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE IT ISN'T A GOOD EXPERIENCE!

I have been trying to get a leased car property taxes invoice from Honda Financial services for over a month. They just sent a letter saying that I need to refund them for their paying the taxes. Well, where is the invoice and prove you pay that amount.
They are unwilling to provide one which only makes me think there is something fishy about the whole thing. Perhaps they think none will sue them for their recklessness. No Beyoncé is as incompetent as you are Honda

I've been a Honda customer since September 2014, and it's been the worst experience I've ever had. Their customer service reps are RUDE, willing to argue with you, and they will talk to you like you're stupid if you let them. My mom helps pay the car note with her social security check which makes it a little late with the due date for the car payment. I am aware of this. I am beginning to pay off the late fees and the principle on the car since I am at the end of my contract. They are aggressive and will question why you're late AFTER you've already told them your pay situation. I always stay in communication with them. This company is horrible and they should fire all of their employees. Once I get this paid off, I NEVER EVER want to open a car loan with them EVER AGAIN.

I paid off my car and have not received my title. I called and waited 25 minutes to speak with someone to find out what happened. They mailed it out on June 28th, and it is now July 18th, and I still have not gotten it. Why was this important document sent through USPS and not Fed Ex or UPS? If I was offered either of those options, I would have paid the 6 or 7 dollars for a safer, more guaranteed method of delivery. Now, I have to pay $60 to DMV to get a duplicate title. Being a single parent makes this a hard pill to swallow. I did nothing wrong, yet I have to pay the price for other peoples' stupidity , carelessness, and ignorance. I will continue to post negative reviews on all social media sites until I feel justice has been served. I have read other complaints about this same issue. I wish I did my research before financing with them. Others have filed complaints with the attorney general, and it looks as though I will be doing the same thing.

Paying off my auto loan and getting Honda Financial Services (HFS) to release its lien is worst than pulling teeth. I sent a bank cashier's check to HFS to pay off my loan in full and get the Title to the vehicle. After one week and several phone calls, I finally got someone to confirm that my check had been received. To date, the lien on my vehicle has not been releases. The most frustrating experience is that:
1. None of the HFS staff I spoke with could tell me when the lien on my vehicle would be released. They told me my payment and lien release was being processed in Philadelphia.
2. When I asked for a phone number at the Philadelphia office where my check was held up, I was told that office does not accept calls from customers
3. When I asked to speak with a Supervisor, the HFS staff told me there was no Supervisor I can talk to.
To date, HFS has received full payment for what I owe on the vehicle. However, they would not release the lien on the vehicle. This is the worst experience I have ever had as a customer.

Beware automatic payments. I thought my payments were going through but Honda Financial didn't call, email, or send a message. They contacted me on the 61st day - I paid but they had reported a 30 & 60 day delinquency already. I paid within seconds, had a history of on-time payments, They said it was required by law but later said that had a zero tolerance payment policy, regardless of circumstances. I asked why they didn't let me know and they said they were not required to - any kind of contact would have been a courtesy, The rep said they had similar problems with their auto system, but she could do nothing. After successfully getting on auto payments I offered to pay the car in full if they would withdraw the 60 day late payment report. They declined. I paid it off anyway to avoid being associated with this company. Oh well -- only 5 more years of punishment due to getting a car loan with them rather than my bank.

I tried a loan for my car to not wipe out my bank account and now I'm locked into a long 4 year long loan. The sales attendant did not quote how long the loan was. They kept dodging the question for loan longevity. They also didn't quote that each payment would have interest taken out of it. I created a digital account and my paper statements ceased. I tried to get them reactivated to remind my self to pay them but to no success. Even if you pay more than the money you owe monthly you still have to pay the monthly amount owed. I never missed a payment but if it's like Toyota it's hell. No I do not recommend auto pay. You'll fight to get your money back. Send them a check! Do not do their auto pay. Why they don't have bill pay set up I don't know. I'd be a lot easier and less paper.

They have never send me my speed ticket and has been 6 months. I have called them every week and they are saying (oh im sorry we gonna send them out again)
I leased a car so that's whay they receive the speed tickets.
After 6 months i have received just one and the MVA flagged my plates plus I had to pay 2 flag fees because of them.
I have called them about this and they don't want to assume responsibility.
So basically i have paid $60 flag fees because of them.

Believe me, if you need a car you're better off without one if you have only this choice! All of the reviews on this page that have two stars or less, are right on point! My car was repossessed with only three months left to pay it off. I was within my time frame to keep the car however, somehow, strangely enough, the check went to a third party bank, named Wells Fargo. An HFS employee supervisor, claimed they would try and retrieve the funds from Wells Fargo, but why would they retrieve the funds from Wells Fargo if they don't have any ties with them? They planned on allowing me to have my car back while they investigate the matter, but They told me that if they can't acquire the funds from them, then I would be responsible and then they would repo my car once again if I don't make the payment. I spent an entire day on the phone with Honda Financial and with one particular supervisor by the name of Diana who had tried to twist information around (a tactic used to confuse the consumer) but she didn't confuse me. And when it didn't work she hung the phone on me. When I called back to get the contact info for the CEO they said they couldn't give it out that they could only give out the customer relations number (which btw, reroutes you back to HFS!) So they have the system set up that you are unable to make a complaint allowing the employees to treat you any way they want! Because I had a second employee do the same thing. She started off helpful but then when I caught her in a lie she got defensive and hung up on me as well. I too am looking toward a lawsuit as this company wreaks of something foul!!

Stay away from Honda Financial Services. If you want to finance a car do not use Honda Financial services. If your car has equity and you are little late on payment like few days over one month only and not later than that they will do their best to repossess your car knowing they will make more money if they repossess it and take it away from you. Worst part about it is when you become current again and they were not able to repossess it they will still charge you for unethical tons of money for being late only for few days. Recommendation! if you already have them try to refinance with more ethical financial institutions. Stay away. Watch out if you are 40 days late because they will come and repossess it. I would understand if they want to do it when you are at least 60 days late but they do it much sooner. Also when you are 5 days late expect a call at 8:00 AM in the morning and much later toward the afternoon every single day. They make your life miserable and too much stress I almost had a heart attack
