A widowed man visited the Longwell Green Harvester (Crown). He’s an old chap & never says anything. He ordered a pint of Speckled Hen which was served in a Doombar glass! He said to the grey haired old women manager that is wasn’t a good pint and she replied “you don’t have to drink here” & mumbled as she walked away. He was quite taken back but this. Later he visited the WC & when he returned the till had been removed & the same old lady said he couldn’t have another drink. He simply said he hadn’t heard the last orders call nor the time call. Her reply was “we are not a bar but a restaurant so we don’t have to call last orders”, the chap replied that there’s a sign outside stating Bar & Restaurant. The miserable lady barred the old chap.
I’ve written this review on behalf of him as he wouldn’t know what to do.
I think it’s disgusting that this unassuming man would be treated so poorly and barred. I think the staff serving was the wife of the manager.
A concerned customer

Haven’t been to a Harvester for years and thought we would give it another try (Stevenage), wish I hadn’t
Food was cafe quality, staff all looked a mess and touching their hair and other parts of their face then serving people’s food.
Place was dirty and babies high chairs were disgusting and should be thrown away.
Can defiantly say I will not be returning

Food disgusting undercooked chicken burnt sausages for granddaughter .
Service appalling was meant to be a lovely birthday for granddaughter but all 9 of us left there feeling upset and disappointed.
The toilets were awful dirty paper all over the floor and it wasn’t even busy , I dread to think what it’s like when it is busy .
Certainly won’t be going back there

Hi We have been going to the Harvester for 15 years. Always satisfied with food and staff. The last few times we have gone been disappointed with portions. My husband always had large rack of ribs which were big. Now they come out of a packet you can get 3 for £10 in supermarkets. Al the meals are the same.. portions smaller. Chips in a dish. Prices same or more. Reluctant to bother going now. Margare

Well after an escapade to several establishments at the Lakeside Retail Park, myself and my slimmer friend decided to have a cheeky little dinner on the way home. We was shown to our table by a female who I thought was originally a customer due to the fact that she was sitting on a nearby table with her laptop. We were shown to a table where the first thing I noticed was the vile upholstery on the bench seats where it looked like the hands of a railway worker named Dave having just changed the wheel of the 18:42 from Fenchurch Street had wiped his hands all over it, I wouldn't have minded if it wasn't my seat. Next we fancied a refreshingly cold pepsi (just like the adverts) to find out there was not one ice cube on the whole premises being only two hundred yards from Sainsburys megastore you would have thought the manager would have gone over and cleared them out of ice cubes, our hearts melted (pardon the pun).
The food was alright - what you would normally expect.
Please Harvester give your seats a good clean before someone catches an undesirable disease off it.

Visited the Harvester in Northolt today with my family. It was terrible. Arrived at about 13:30... The waitress was nice enough... everything else was not. We ordered one starter, which was due to come with the main, but came 30-45 minutes before anything else. It also contained a sticker marked TUES mixed in with the mushroom starter dish. At 15:00 the meal arrived. It was dry, not even hot and the tagine child’r Meal had been warmed in the microwave resulting in a dry crust around the edge. The food was horrific. You would imagine that it was prepared freshly in light of the cost and the time it took to arrive in a fairly empty restaurant. Please save yourself the time money and indigestion.

Went to harvester in Amesbury for our wedding anniversary meal... had to wait an hour before we was served our food! Then when we did get it there was hardly any meat on the ribs! The corn on the cob looked that like it already had been eaten and over cooked..the best part of the meal was the chips and gravy! We’ve been before for breakfast and had no complaints at all but definitely won’t be going back for a meal again....would of felt more satisfied and happier if we went to McDonald’s.. my daughters meal was worse than ours definitely been put off for what we got and the money we paid for.

My daughter two grandchildren and I went to the harvester at West Byfleet. The only good thing about it was the waitress Carol who was very helpful . My daughter and I had the belly of pork roast which was dry chewy the vegetables were frozen not something I would expect at £15.49 per person. My granddaughter had sausage and mash or should I say smash it wasn’t fresh mashed potato and it was gloopy and soggy and she didn’t eat it . My grandson had a beefburger which consisted of a very over cooked dried out burger better placed on the sole of a shoe. He left it and. I can’t say I blame him as it didn’t look very appetising. We only had soft drinks and the total of our bill with no starter or desert was £45 .... This was after the children’s meal which was charged at a £1 per child. I feel cheated as I can go and eat at Loch fynewith desert and starter on a special offer for only £10 more! Not a pleasant experience, one We won’t be repeating. I expect fresh food when paying good money.

I've used harvester over the years, in my option they have gotten worse.
The portions have shrank and the cost has gone up.
The food varies by the establishment but is mostly average across the board.
I was even sent a free voucher for my birthday but they wouldn't even honor it as I had ordered a 2 course set meal, they said the 2 course main was classed as a "special offer" so it can't be used.
Service wise, it varies greatly between establishments with some staff being over enthusiastic to be helpful and others being rude and / or moving at the speed of plate tectonics and you having to request things several times.

We come to harvester regularly, my children enjoy the choice they have with harvesters menu.
Being a member of slimming world I love that you have unlimited salad, and that the staff at Harvester in intu Soar are more that happy to swap the chips for a baked potato for me. It means i am not left out for dining out. Thanks for the lovely food as always.

We went to the harvester Chingford Larkswood road today 06/09/2019. We were seated waited for someone to come and take our order for about 10 minutes. A server came to take our order we ordered two orange and lemonade and placed our dinner order. The dinner came after a long time. We were halfway through our dinner called over the server to find out about our drinks this took a time to come to us. My fish and chips fish was round and the chips were cooked about a week ago I think. We found the service very very SLOW. The only thing that came quick was the bill. We have been going to this Harvester for a few years but not anymore. I think the customer service needs looking into.

Not as good as it used to be.
Food wasn’t perfect on the last visit (to catch up over a meal with a friend who had been away) so we sent it back. My burger bun was strangely soggy and my friend’s steak was well done instead of medium rare, almost cremated even.
The chef actually came out of the kitchen to debate the claims that the bun was soggy and the steak was over cooked.
Waitress was as shocked as we were and she tried to tell the chef to go back in the kitchen. Chef got his bottom handed to him by my friend who happened to be an executive chef who trained with the one and only Gordon Ramsay (hah!). Chef never apologised but another one in the kitchen remade our orders. Still weren’t perfect but edible at least.
Poor waitress was horrified and very embarrassed that the chef rudely left his post to sulk to us about his poor cooking “skills”. The lass kept apologising all night (chef never apologised once), but it wasn’t her fault. She tried her best to improve our evening. We tipped the waitress extra that night.
Can’t fault the waitress (I’m sure her name was Kelly?). The chefs could do with some education on how to cook, though (and maybe try not to argue with a highly trained executive chef who clearly knows more than you, eh? Lol.)

Bad experience at Harvesters, Morden, last Thursday. I had scampi and chips, my friend had gammon and chips. About 5 minutes after finishing my scampi and chips I started to get bad stomach ache, very unusual for me, and then after 10 minutes I had to rush to the Toilet. Again very unusual for me. My friend was fine. I’m sure I was “poisoned”. Was the scampi originally frozen, defrosted, and then reheated? I don’t know, but the experience from a Food and Safety viewpoint was very concerning and I will never visit a Harvesters again.
By the way this was Harvesters at The George in Morden.

I arrived at The Spyglass Inn, Preston, Weymouth at 6.40 pm on Thurs 22 August, ordered a drink, burger and chips and sat outside. The restaurant did not seem overly busy and there were lots of empty tables. After half an hour I politely asked if the food was on the way and was told I had only ordered it 30 mins ago and that waiting time was one hour. I wish I had been told that before ordering, I would have gone elsewhere. An hour and 10 mins after ordering, my meal arrived. The burger was dry with leaves of soggy lettuce inside that were brown at the edge. Given the long wait and cost of the meal, this was very disappointing and I won't be returning.

Following a day trip to Brighton with friends we had staying with us our choice of evening meal before we left for home was at The Harvester (seafront) Brighton.
Upon entry I did feel the place was not as clean as I would expect ie dirty tables and food under the tables on the floor. Well we’re here now so may as well eat! Food not too bad although expensive for what it was.
Then to use the toilets before we leave, I can of course only rate the ladies but absolutely disgusting, floor flooded with water (we hope it was water!) but by the smell doubtful. Toilet paper strewn everywhere so I did see waitress on way out to let her know. There is no way in the world I would’ve considered eating there if I’d had used the toilet on entry.
In the interest of public health surely this is not acceptable when you have spent near on £70 for four persons on a sub standard meal and surroundings
