Top Reviews from Reliable SourcesTroy Carpenter ![]() TOTAL SCAM ARTISTI paid in full for a 6 month subscription. One month into that subscription my account was suspended for failed payment when they attempted to charge me 480 for an additional 24 month subscription I never asked for and they waited to do this until I met someone and was talking with them daily. TOTAL SCAM ARTIST Date of experience: April 12, 2023 Dated: Thu Apr 13 Source: Trustpilot Carrie Ann Taylor ![]() Did not sign up for automatic renewalDid not sign up for automatic renewal, and had deleted my account… And four months later get a bill for $950 for my automatic annual renewal… So far they are refusing to cancel my account and want to collect the money… Although my bank stopped the transaction because they said it looked like a scam account… Don’t know what I’m going to do, because eharmony has been completely awful about working with me although I have not been on the site in 3 to 4 months before the renewal happened – and they say I simply have to pay… What?? I was off the site? Furthermore, the process to properly fully, cancel ‘automatic renewal’ (scam) is purposely confusing and convoluted and very difficult to do — ridiculous and terrible business practice. Do not do not do not recommend. Date of experience: April 10, 2023 Dated: Wed Apr 12 Source: Trustpilot Jonathan Roger ![]() I cancelled within the 14 days and got…I cancelled within the 14 days and got a refund, but I still had to pay the £65 for my character match report (based on the questionnaire) emailed to me (worth almost twice as much I am informed). This condition clearly explained beforehand, so I was aware. I just didn't expect I would late decide to cancel my sub. Since then I have read my in-depth character report (disclaimer says for "entertainment & information"). And I found it quite useful (40 odd pages emailed to me.) A professional report would cost a lot more you can bet, although it will be much more accurate. eHarmony rely on the gut response of you answering the 79x or so odd questions to compile their match criteria report on you to find how you tick in a relationship.. I didn't expect to cancel. I also subscribed with 35% discount. The problem is it is a waste of time. I spent hours in front of the screen. You have a better chance of finding a "soul mate friend" (and that is what I want and eHarmony too for you) but in the real world; join activities where you bump in to the opposite sex. Because most photos are unreliable, mostly about ten years out of date. The ice breaker is useful on eHarmony, but afterwards or at some point comes the message stage and a woman can simply decide to delete your profile permanently. Sadly, there aren't many matches that I like (all on the photos as mentioned, up to a dozen photos infact. Most people just have three photos. many have poor selfies. Also, very few matches locally (unless you are in Bristol or a similar large city where eHarmony do have their own local sites). So it would involve travelling all the way for a first date, say a coffee together in a cafe to see if you click. You can be "ghosted" even on a what appears to be a successful date (I read the advice in eHarmony and how to cope, how awful- i.e. the other person just disappears). For all that though the eHarmony do provide prompt customer service if you contact them. But I have gained (trying to be positive- self talk) because I read all their helpful short articles (I think you can do so free though). So, just be your real self in the real world instead. If you try to be someone else you will be found out. It involves going out of your comfort zone. But guys please do not just go up and speak to a woman who is a complete stranger as they go about their business; women will not thank you in this climate of harassment. We are in our 60s. I was on the site for almost 6 months, there are a lot of scammers, so do be careful. They were easy to report and they disappeared from my page quickly. I would expect that on any dating site, so read the advice on how to spot them and how to proceed safely. I think that the reason I was successful in finding the right fellow was because I quit focusing on whether he liked all the same activities and searched for a compatible personality. This is what e-harmony purports to do. My desire for outdoor pursuits is fulfilled with friends but true companionship and love can’t be replaced. All that does is encourage them to be UBER manipulative very controlling I absolutely hated being there even as a prospective customer. There’s no way I’m sending them money! They want way too much upfront and if you don’t get a refund in time then you’re probably out of luck and that’s why ALL dating sites need to go strictly on a monthly basis; put US 1st & not your grubby money. I have to say joining eHarmony was life changing we could not have met any other way as we lived in separate states. I would have to say that we found our perfect match and we thank God for using eHarmony as a tool for bringing us together. They're in the business of making things very difficult for members. Cancel right away or set a reminder to do so 1 month before your sub ends so you won't get hit with auto renewal. Also, don't use a VPN when registering. They will perma ban your account so fast and won't unlock it if you try to explain that you're using a VPN for security. That being said, I did meet someone amazing. YMMV. Date of experience: April 20, 2018 Dated: Fri Apr 20 Source: Trustpilot Harry Johnes ![]() Had a few dates / site works fineSigned up in June and actually arranged a few dates though eharmony. All of them were not really good, but that sure is not the fault of eharmony. Site itself is legit and easy to use (even though it takes forever to complete the signup process)but it's just not my type of dating site and I feel more comfortable on dating services like mingle2day because everything seems to be a little more laid-back. But if you are looking for something serious eharmony will get the job done.
