Buyer beware! Whilst I've used this retailer without issue in the past, something appears to have changed according to recent experience and appalling reviews from other customers.
On this occasion, I placed an order over a week ago via "7 day tracked" delivery but can't ascertain tracking details and messages are now bouncing back from customer services which is very concerning .

Items do not arrive. Trying to contact them is impossible. I wish I had read these reviews before using them.Hopefully this will save someone else having the same bad luck.
After 5 weeks now waiting for my refund but not holding out much hope after reading the reviews here.
Scam and should be closed down.

This company is a farce! I ordered some Molton Brown shampoos and eleven weeks have elapsed and nothing has appeared. I have written many emails and get the normal tripe that it is one its way.

My Best recommendation is to find an alternative to this shop.
Here is my experience:
I ordered a product on 23. July.
Discovered quickly through tracking that the package was on its way back to sender.
The package had dissapered and now I had to wait 28 days before the shop Will send a new product.
1 month after my buy I asked the shop to send a new product.
1 week after the shop says the product is not in Stock.
I ask for a refund and is told that this will happen in 3-10 business days.
Today is 18 September and 17 business days after I asked for a refund and I still have not received my money back.
This is bad business and terrible customer service.

I mirror most other reviews here - STAY AWAY THEY ARE SCAMMERS.
Like with so many others here I placed an order, got told there was a delivery issue, waited a bit longer. Then asked for a refund, got told it would be with me soon - and then nothing. I'm chasing now and will be in touch with trading standards as well as my credit card company.
If you look on Companies house, the director David Butler, has not filed any accounts since May 2018 - that is in itself a big worry. The company has no funds.

Yes here I am STILL trying to get my order from these shisters, I ring and they don't answer the phone I have emailed over twenty times yes I have had a couple of responses telling me, this order is about to be sent and will be delivered before the weekend, and yet so many weekends have come and gone, STILL NO ORDER. I would not give them even half a star, their service is non existent. They are just taking peoples money and keeping it, surely this is illegal. I am going to get their company information and report them. I am also informing my bank.

I didn't receive my order, still waiting after 3 weeks although they promise to deliver the goods within 7 days also providing the tracking details which they never did. They take your money and are never there to answer phone calls or reply to emails or messages. I contacted my bank to get my £65 back. I will never use Gooseberry again!! VERY BAD SERVICE!

I placed my order on the 23rd of June 2019 and the email confirmation I got stated that it would be delivered within 7 business days and they charged me £0.50 for tracked delivery - 7 business days.
When my order was not delivered by the 2nd of July 2019 (after 7 business days) I contacted gooseberry's customer services who said that:
1. my order will be with me by end of week Friday 5th of July
2. the only refund they can offer is the delivery charge of 50p
The order was not delivered by end of last week neither beginning of this week so when I contacted them again this week, they said that the order will be with me beginning of next week and no refund will be provided for the further delay.
It is now 12th of July and I still have not received it and twice now they have given them delivery dates which they did not honour let alone no proper compensation for the discomfort they have caused and inconvenience as I had to buy the shampoo/conditioner from the highstreet at a higher cost as they had finished and didn't have time to wait for another online delivery from another company. Neither did they compensate the time I have spent chasing them up.

I’ve used Gooseberry a number of times before and have never had a problem up until now.
This time I placed an order on 1st July and paid for tracked delivery 1-2 days. I then received an email confirming dispatch on 4 July. However, as of 12 July the item still hasn’t arrived and the Hermes’ tracking information shows they have not received the package. I have contacted Gooseberry three times by email and phone just to be told that they are still waiting on an update from Gooseberry. They have offered to refund the delivery charge, which is fine, but I still have no idea when the package will arrive. They say it may take up to 7 days for them to receive information from Hermes.
Not the standard of service I would expect and I’ve never found a company so slow at reporting back from their couriers.

‘Buyer beware’ is a phase which sums up anyone ordering from this website. Furthermore I if I could give a minus rating I would!
I wish I had seen all these negative reviews before I’d ordered as I wouldn’t have placed an order in the first place.
My items too were delayed so I cancelled my order. Like many others I had to wait nearly 2 months for a refund. The calls weren’t answered, instant messaging was far from instant and my emails well! All I got back was ‘what’s your order no?’ If the staff read their emails correctly they would see the order no in the subject box! Clearly a delaying tactic! After threatening further action I have today been advised the money will be refunded into my account. I’ll be checking closely over the next few days. Did I get an apology or explanation as to the reason my money was withheld???? What do you think ... No!
I’ve never experienced such poor service from an online retailer. Avoid at all costs!!! I won’t be using them again.

Have been waiting for my goods since 3rd August 2019. hundreds of calls and emails made to this company and they are just ignoring me. have discussed with bank who investigated because this company owed me £56.40. they had told my bank that the products were sent out to me even though I have clear evidence on my account with them that my order was unfulfilled!!! i cannot understand for the life of me how this company is getting away with this...on their review page i can only say that the people who have made reviews are made up people. goes to show how awful and unprofessional they are because they cannot even answer emails or call.

I ordered some items from Gooseberry and even though the website clearly states the items are in stock I was only sent a partial order. The rest ended up arriving 4 weeks later. The items I did receive were damaged due to leaking from the packaging. I thought it wouldn't be a problem to send the items back to get a refund. Boy was I in for a surprise!
Its been over two months since I sent the items back via Hermes and after a few messages on facebook messenger saying they would look into it, nothing. Its as if the phone has been disconnected, can't get through on the phone or messenger. Awful service, please avoid at all costs!

Never received my order (placed on the 27th of May), nobody picked up the phone nor called me back (left messages). When I finally found a way to contact them (5 weeks had gone by) they told me that they were out of stock. I asked for a refund. That was 3 and a half weeks ago. No refund so far, I have contacted them many times. They are using a misleading website called reviews.io which rates the company 4.73 stars. Trustpilot gives GOOSEBERRY 1 star (they don’t have the possibility to give none), and is accurately showing how upset people are about GOOSEBERRY. I wished I had read Trustpilot before ordering!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!! This shop should not exist anymore, we are talking about stealing money from people! If Trustpilot has some power, please help us to stop this from happening and to take legal actions.

This company profits from stealing people's money! They must be held accountable. Like many others, my goods never arrived and, despite an initial promise to refund, I have not received my money back. It has been nearly 4 months. I have called many times and left messages (because they never answer the phone). They have blocked me from FB messenger, and after I started leaving comments on their FB posts, they have disabled the comment function. I have sent a formal breach of contract letter, and tried everything I could. Next step is small claims court!

A big Scam. I ordered products in March and I got the Oops email saying they were out of stock and would arrive in a few days. 4 weeks later still nothing and I decided to cancel and get a refund. The refund never came. I left numerous messages on their answerphone and spoke to Emma when I managed to get through. She told me that Adam, their accountant, works from home (warning bells started to ring) and that she would ask him to refund me. After another 10 days I rang and said nothing had been refunded. She told me that Adam had refunded that day and I would get the money in a few days. That was over two weeks ago. Clearly the business is in difficulties and they are trying to get money in without supplying goods. If you look on their website most of the products are out of stock and yet they are still sending emails promoting discounts to order products. Shameful. I have reported them to my bank this morning. I guess they will not be around very long.

I’m just echoing the same story. Pity I didn’t go onto TrustPilot before giving the Gooseberry company my money. Goods failed to arrive. I’ve been promised a refund in 3-10days, but I won’t be holding my breath.
If the refund doesn’t arrive in my account as promised I will contact my credit card company and also Trading Standards. I’m not going to hang around hoping it’ll eventually arrive. This experience has been stressful and time-wasting. The only bad experience I’ve had when buying on the internet. They should be closed down.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY - I have also experienced the same problem. Order placed and never received the goods. I was told there were some delivery problems and if I was ok to wait they would be with me soon. This was said on several occasions and they said as an apology they would refund the delivery charges. Needless to say the refund and goods were never received. Then I was promised on several occasions a full refund as the goods were still not available. After 2 months I have still not received my refund. If you ring customer services you can only leave a message and if you email Gooseberry you either get no reply at all or a reply that is a waste of time and a stupid emoji. How can a company like this still be trading. I am beyond cross and disgusted.
