Buyer beware. Avoid FitBit! My FitBit Alta HR suddenly stopped working about 23 months after purchase. The green heart rate lights now stay on constantly and the battery drains in about 6 hours. After contacting FitBit customer service, they offered a 25% discount on a new FitBit. If you ready the Fitbit Community discussion forum, you'll see that many, many Alta HR users have the same problem, and most of these problems started at the same time. The same thing also happened with other models. The Toronto Star covered this in an article you can find via a google search. FitBit steadfastly refuses to acknowledge that their hardware is faulty. Their customer service reps just repeat the same bot-like party line, over and over. "It's out of warranty. We can give you a 25% discount."

The new Fitbit app for iPhone sucks! I have had a Fitbit since 2013 and after 6 years and this new app update (in 2019) I’m ready toss it in the garbage!!! Major steps back in my opinion - don’t waste your money!!!!!

I liked Fitbit for measuring the quality and duration of my sleep which could be averaged over a week, a month and a year.
They have replaced it with a stupid sleep score which can only be averaged by the week.
I am very disappointed with Fitbit and would not recommend it.

I have the Fitbit Versa and it cracked with normal use after about 2 months. They clearly don't make the screen very strong as I've read many reviews with the same concern. The warranty doesn't cover this, as I'm sure it happens often. Instead of strengthening the screen and offering a replacement, I was offered a discount for another. Why would I purchase another with the same issues? Don't purchase if you have an active lifestyle, which is clearly why we want it! So frustrating!

Absolutely shocking customer service, between me and my partner we have had 4 malfunctioning 'Fitbit charge 3'.
They offered me a downgrade then said they don't exchange when I refused to take the offer. They wouldn't offer me any form of refund no alternative so I will have to take the same charge 3 again that will most likely malfunction due to heat or whatever as I am travelling and I will have to keep going through this process with them. SHOCKING.
Just seems strange how they can send out free Fitbit for marketing purposes but can't send me a fair alternative as a paying customer.
Go for Garmin theres plenty of different brands that value their customers that have better products.

This is my second Fitbit, the first charge HR stopped syncing with my phone then the battery died. Fitbit.com replaced it for a Charge 2. After 1 year the same thing has happened. Fitbit say it is now out of their limited warranty and will not replace but have offered me 25% off a new one, wow am I really going to pay £100 for only another 12 months use. Fitbit trackers can glitch out after the app updates and connectivity and battery issues appear to be common occurrences. Fit bit offered poor customer service. Something costing that much should last longer than a year. I’m going to try a Samsung tracker it’s much cheaper

I have an Alta HR tracker, which worked great with my LG K30 android until I foolishly updated to the newer version of Fitbit. With the new version, my phone will not sync, and it is now on the "incompatible" list. I at least was able to use 5he tracker to track my steps and heart rate, but now all I get is a message to connect to Fitbit. Totally useless piece of junk.

I have had three fitbit altas. All three had band problems. I lost the first watch when the band came off and I didn't notice it. The second one did the same thing. The third one broke and I replace the band three times. It broke again and fitbit said they "were working on the design" I could get a replacement band. What the heck good is a replacement band -they all come off the watch!! I figured I could at least wear the watch for awhile if I glued the band on. I did, it lasted two months before the watch died. My LAST fitbit. NEVER again!!!

Inferior product. Never stayed charged for duration of company claimed. Charge every 1 1/2 to 2 days if I am lucky. Hard to sync. EXTREMELY disappointed. Charge clasp has always been faulty. If you don't attach it at EXACTLY the right angle, watch is dead or weakly charged in the morning. Warranty is meaningless. Caveat emptor.

The strap on fit bit charge 2 is not fit for purpose I had to get mine replaced it was 4 weeks my replacement has the same problem the strap is useless and very easily breakes I would definitely not reccomend

I like the Fitbit Charge 3 as far as tracking steps and exercise; however, when it comes to synchronization regarding sleep, it can take hours. I'm very frustrated.

Flex 2 battery drains in 20 mins. even when the support desk could see it happening they didn't have a clue. Rung 4 times, last bloke sounded like he was on drugs. suspect Fitbit deliberately trying not to honour the warranty. Shame, was enjoying the product but the customer service is so bad i won't be going back. Put the Flex 2 in the bin,

I actually like much of what fitbit does. However I strongly object to the fitbit folks launching a "premium" program charging 10 bucks a month for an additional data package.
I am so p### off about this, when my Fitbit bit does I am not going to replace it

After just skimming through the reviews, I admit to feeling really stupid - I should have read the reviews first. Bought my Ionic last February and it was fine until a few weeks ago when on a bike ride after a full charge it simply died after about 2.5 hours. I got on a chat session and after they had me reset all sorts of parameters. I was told to do a test - which I may have misunderstood- went to use it today and again it lasted for about 2.5 hours before it died. I have been on two chat sessions and one phone call and even tried to explain what real service was (i.e. Nordstrom, Starbucks, Amazon) but to no avail. Supposedly, I am to get an email from a supervisor but I will believe it when I see it.

Basically if you have had your fitbit for longer then a year and anything goes wrong with it just save yourself some time and throw it in the trash and move on. This company makes junk and does not stand behind their products at all.

Fitbit is the worst company I have ever dealt with! Their customer service is just awful. I seriously don't know how they stay in business.
I bought a versa2, and it had problems from the get go with start up and syncing. So I decided to return it 2 days after receiving it.
They emailed me the wrong shipping label, I am in Canada, and it originally came from Ontario. The return label was for the US. I didn't think anything of it, as sometimes companies do send things back to other warehouses etc. A couple days later after shipping it, the shipper notified me saying it was missing a customs form, which fitbit never provided me with. I called their customer service, and the employee was not very helpful, she made it my fault and said she would email me the correct label, but I had to go drive to the place it was currently at to fix it. It was at a destinaton 2 hours from my house! I told her this and she basically told me whatever and this is what needed to be done and there was nothing they would do to help. I did it the next day, didn't get home until 10pm and I'm a single parent and work full time!
It was delivered to the correct warehouse a day later. And they told me I need to wait 5 to 7 business for their warehouse to confirm they got it and then wait again for another 5 to 7 business days for them to process the refund! Just shocking. They are so disorganized. Honestly and I am 60% sure I will not be getting my refund. As they have keep giving me the run around. Just do not buy a fitbit, any other product and company will have a better product and treat you like they actually value you as a customer.

While I sitting in the car, driving 6 hours, apparently I am climbing 27 flights of stairs. When I climb several flights of stairs, it does not register. Some days I have zero activity; I am not that lazy. And the new sleep score just ads more anxiety. The sleep time is not very accurate most nights anyway.

I wish they offer zero stars. This is my second fitbit. Both Christmas gifts so no receipt to get money back. Both died in a few months. I take excellent care of them and rarely sweat and I don't get in shower with it even though it says water proof. I follow directions closely yet they die anyway. All the troubleshooting doesn't work. All the hours I wasted reading, reading, reading, and READING on what to do and nothing. Support hung up on me twice because I couldn't type quickly enough for them to know I was still there. Claimed I took over 2 minutes but it was only a minute if that. I even asked the second guy to give an extra minute to find a wall usb outlet for troubleshoot that HE told me to do. He said ok, take your time and then hung up on me saying I was over 2 minutes, but I know I was not. I was watching the time. Then they blocked me where I can't use the chat anymore tonight. It says they are available until I put in my email login then suddenly unavailable. From my experience and what I've read of others, I don't advise anyone to waste their money on fitbit.

Although the customer service rep was as polite and helpful as anyone could be Fitbit is still a piece of crap and I will never recommend this product to another, not even my worst enemy. Setting up and logging in, especially when you already have an account is wasted time out of your life you will never get back. And the utter frustration is enough to drive you crazy. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. You'll be much better off and a much happier person if you simply never own this product.

I have a Fitbit Alta HR and could not make it sync - it was hard to work out if it was on but knew it was charged OK. I tried the self-help but without luck, so mailed them directly. The response was within hours, with suggested fixes. They remotely analyzed the device, and worked out it needed a Firmware update. They mailed a link and instructions to make it work properly. All fixed within 24 hours. Exceptional Customer Service in my personal experience. Very happy to deal with company's like this who look after their customers.

Horrible customer service. I bought my Fitbit versa two months ago. It stopped reading my heart rate last month. I reached out to them because they offer a warranty supposedly, but now refuse to help me fix or replace my device. I keep getting some weird computerized response about how they will monitor the issue. I keep asking them to honor the warranty they promise, but they won't. I'm super disappointed with my service and the product. I will never ever buy Fitbit again. Had I known they treated their loyal customers like this I would have never purchased this recent device. I am truly do offended by this awful experience and craftsmanship.

sync issues again ... same thing a year ago ... company does not acknowledge the issue exists ...and hundreds of people cranky ... check the reviews on google play app... 1st time looking on trust pilot ... 80% bad ... tells you something .. hard to believe these products are still available
