Imagine this. You've been packing up your young family for a month and hauling boxes and furniture up and down stairs for two days. You're mentally and physically exhausted but relieved to finally spend some quality time with your kids. Set yourself in this feeling and then imagine waking up on the morning of your bond clean knowing your hard work is done, you've booked a professional cleaning company to handle the very last thing you need to finish your move. You arrive at your old place knowing you’ve only got a few things left to do when old mate in his faux leather jacket rocks up. Hardly saying a word he takes a quick look inside and goes “the kitchen is really big, it’s going to cost $150 more”. Not only did I put “LARGE KITCHEN” on the booking form, everything else was exactly accurate to what the property was AND THEY STILL TRIED TO CHARGE US MORE. I used to do bond cleaning when I was a student and the property was in very good condition, no big staining, no carpet and with a new bathroom that didn’t need to be cleaned, definitely not a $580 clean. It’s the classic Bait and Switch scam where they get you in a vulnerable position and screw you for more money. After telling this grubby See You Next Tuesday where to go he tries to say it’s now only $75 more. WRONG. It’s now $430 LESS because I have to do it myself. After a total of 10 hours of cleaning between my wife and myself (and two VERY bored young children) we finally got it done. Ironically that’s $43/h, a standard bond cleaning rate, no need for the extra $150 at all.
Now I’m even more tired, sore and breaking out in dermatitis from the cleaning chemicals. This company is grubby and will screw you when you are the most vulnerable. When there are so many other honest cleaning companies out there is it really worth the risk of getting caught and screwed by these people?
