I have found the quality steadily decreasing over the last 10 to 15 years and some very questionable designs, however I always knew I could rely on Evans for smart trousers. Over the last couple of years I've struggled to find the trousers I buy in stock and have resorted at times to buying the long and adjusting. I'm feel incredible disappointed and rather let down by the recent decision to reduce the range of trousers and various body types (I.e., pear) in favour of a streamlined range, especially as they have also reduced the sizes on offer so I don't even have the option of buying too big. But I can buy pjs or casual trousers. Thanks for perpetuating the myth that fat women sit at home all day!

My order didn't arrive so called the customer care team and was put through to someone who clearly didn't realise I was connected to him. His language was absolutely diabolical. I know it can be frustrating dealing with customers, but I would not expect the language that was said to be used in a call centre, especially when you can be heard in the background. I suggest he gets a new job after hearing what he had to say. It will make me think twice about paying over the odds at Evans again if this is what their customers are thought of.

Appalling customer service placed an order then got an email saying order delayed sent them a message stating in that case cancel the order no reply to message than miraculously the order had been dispatched and couldn’t be cancelled however no tracking number provided so couldn’t track order and no order has arrived emailed and contacted them via messenger however no response so phoned them on hold for over 40 minutes for a snotty customer service person to state it was my fault for having to email addresses attached to my account and they couldn’t find order even though I gave them date order placed and the email address that I have received confirmation on and they emailed on to say order received and the delayed and again to say order dispatched asked to speak to a supervisor placed on hold then cut off Will be contacting bank and asking them to retrieve my money

Placed my first order with Evans on 24th October, got order confirmation etc, then On the 31st October I got an email saying there was a delay with my order !!
Evans made no contact so on the 2nd of November I rang to make enquiries and was told this was most unusual and they would contact the warehouse regarding distribution and that I would receive postage details.
There was no contact from Evans regarding delivery as promised so on the 6th I rang back and the man on the phone said I will issue you with a refund, I explained I didn't want a refund and that I wanted my order!!
Sometime after whilst keeping me on hold for ages he said that he had spoken to the packing dept and the time frame allowed for the order had expired and that he would refund and I should reorder!!! He also offered me 10% off my next order and Speedy delivery for my inconvenience!! For what it was worth i asked for a manager and he said he would get one to ring me back...
I've still not had an email to say I have had my order cancelled and there has been a refund but I have spoken to a manager who did apologise but he did assure me that they have millions of orders that do get processed and are successfully delivered!! I did advise him that it really doesn't give that impression on their "Trust pilot" reviews!!
All in all Evans you are a complete waste of time as far as I am concerned and I won't even lower myself to tell you what you can do with your 10% and free speedy delivery on my next order (which I already had for being a new and obviously very gullible customer)
Its no wonder companies are going into administration, a lot of these companies are far too big for their boots and they forget it is the customer that made them successful in the first place!

Why offer Next Day delivery at weekends if you are unable to provide the service? This is now the third or fourth time over recent years that I’ve placed an order on Friday, paying an additional delivery fee for Next-Day (Saturday- which showed as a selectable option), for it not to arrive. As thoroughly expected due to similar experiences in the past, I got an email this AM, staying there had been a ‘delay’ with my order. Of course they will refund the postage (and quite rightly so as I paid for a service I didn’t receive), however this doesn’t account for the disappointment and, going forward, the unreliability. For example, what if I needed an item for the weekend or for a gift? Don’t offer people something you can’t fulfill. Also, the sizing is odd....big people don’t necessarily want to resemble a tent. Everything seems ‘oversized’. I’m a size 18 and have to buy ‘14’ or ‘16’ in Evans sizing. I don’t know why I keep going back....probably because there aren’t many plus size alternatives.

Ordered item for home delivery. £3.95 cost. Hermes delivery x 2 I was out but ensured I was there for the 3rd attempted delivery. Hermes DID NOT come or knock. Parcel sent back to Evans. I have now paid for not having my item delivered. Customer service just pay lip service to issues raised. Disappointed service if you can call it [email protected]@

Really unhappy😡. Why has Evans reduced the amount of clothes they now sell in size 32 both online and in shops. I was told a couple of months ago that I could only purchase bootcut jeans via website and now no bootcut jeans online and most of the clothes only go upto a size 30. Have been a loyal customer for 33 years and am disgusted by how they are treating their customers. The quality of materials is poor and they charge far too much. Evening wear is awful and dowdy and always loads of black especially at Christmas time. They seem to have forgotten the ‘earthy’ colours of autumn and winter such as browns , creams etc. I might be a fuller figured women but I’m not in mourning and at this rate, I certainly won’t be mourning the closure of Evans as it seems to be going that way!!

I have bought a lot of my clothes from Evans , but recently I have been disappointed by what has been on offer, especially a lack of smart workwear skirts.
On the plus side it's nice to have a high street store selling shoes and boots in larger sizes

I had not placed an order with Evans for many years but decided to try them again and ordered 3 items, paying for them with paypal. When they arrived they were all flimsy, poor quality or not the same colour as pictured.
Everthing was sent back to Evans the next day and I waited for my refund, which with all the many other online clothing retailers I use is a simple stress free process.
Not so with Evans!
9 days after returning all 3 items I received a partial refund for one item. I emailed their customer support 5 times over the next few weeks chasing the rest of my refund. I kept being told that I must wait and that PayPal may have put the refund on hold. I had already contacted paypal twice and was told that there was absolutely not any refund on hold and that Evans had sent nothing to me other than the initial partial refund.
Despite telling customer services this they told me to wait.
Eventually I bit the bullet and phoned Evans on 22nd December, waiting nearly half an hour on hold. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and said she would investigate and call me back. She phoned me back later that afternoon and said that for some reason the remaining refund I was due had not gone through and that she would get it re sent and it should be with me soon.
It is now a week since my phone call where the remaining refund was promised and a whopping 25 days since I returned the items and I am still waiting!!!! I have had to escalate the case with PayPal to try to get my money.
Save yourself the hassle and stress of trying to get your refund from this company and buy your clothes elsewhere!
It is now over 3 weeks since I wrote this review and still no refund from Evans despite phone calls and emails trying to get through to whoever it is that can actually authorise the return of my money!

Ordered some clothes online in the sale and paid by debit card. Took over a week to arrive. Then all items were not there. Was annoyed as they were showing as in stock and took my money. I'm still waiting for the refund for the items that were not sent.

Elite Quibo Turbo Trainer ordered and collected and the process worked just fine with no problems. The only comment I have is that the box had been clearly opened and the internal packaging damaged.I have no idea why this happened but it would be a problem should I want to sell the trainer on or return it to Evans.Whoever took it out the box should have been much more careful when putting it back.I can supply pics if required.

Evans you are a waste of space and don’t deserve any stars. Getting hold of anyone is a nightmare. I can understand why the que is so long, everyone is complaining. You follow their links on your account and they lead to nowhere. I put a dress in my Basket and the page crashed then showed o items in basket so put it in again. Without realising I paid for two of the same item. When I eventually got hold of someone to cancel one they couldn’t do it. In fact was told they could stop the two items and I’ve have to order another one. But they couldn’t refund me yet.. so I’d be paying for three items that were not cheap until they decided to to refund me. Believe me I argued and to get rid of me the lady said that she would cancel one and to check my account in a while. I did and she didn’t. So I rang again and the cow didn’t even record my call. I sent the items back and have still not received any confirmation that they’ve received it or when to expect my refund. I am currently in a phone que and have been for over half an hour now to scream at them. I will never ever buy from Evans again.. Micky mouse company..

Shocking customer service.
When Hermes didn’t deliver my order Evans agreed to re order for me and deliver via next day delivery. When the order went through they put standard delivery so it would take another week to come. I was very unhappy with this as I had already waited for a week and been messed about by Hermes. When I contacted them they said there was no way to change the delivery without cancelling the order. I asked them to cancel and I would shop elsewhere. They then told me a refund would be on a gift card which would take 5-7 working days even though I originally paid on a debit card they point blank refused to credit my debit card which means I have to spend my money at Evans . Disgusting service, I asked to speak to a manager only to be told it was a 24-48 hr wait for them to call back . Now I’m out of pocket and unable to buy anything until they credit me and then I have to buy from Evans .... didgusting .

I ordered two items yesterday, a top and a pair of shoes and I paid next day delivery for them. Today, the top arrived but the shoes were no where to be seen. I know this is Evan's fault because the delivery man only had one package. I tried to call Evans to discuss this and heard a message to say that there would be a 30 minute wait time. So I tried to log in to my online account to send an email and that wasn't working either, I just kept getting messages saying that I was unable to log in at this time. I tried calling Evans again and finally had to hang up the phone after I had been on hold for an hour and still hadn't got through to anyone! I am so annoyed that they just take your money, don't send you what you have paid for and then ignore you! I do most of my shopping online and I have never had such a bad experience as this. Thanks a lot Evans for causing me stress and wasting my money. Absolutely disgraceful.

Ordered a pair of boots chose delivery to local store , was given a date by email
But didn’t arrive , so phoned up customer service after 20 minutes of been left holding
Finally got through to somebody who obviously made it up as she went along
First they was in St. Andrews , then they was still in the cage at warehouse , then was promised next day delivery , never arrived , on the phone again 20 minutes holding on to customer service again to someone who who was very unhelpful
Quite arrogant , no can’t contact warehouse
No can’t contact delivery drivers , offered to re-order but I would have to pay again !
When I refused was told to call back next day to process refund if not arrived , called back the next day and was told there was a waiting time of 35 minutes before my call to be answered , this has got to be the worst customer service ever !!! Evans have took my money but still no boots

This is a great company. The quality of clothes is great and last me forever. No sweating or discoloration whatsoever. I have been buying shoes and they usually last me for ages. Also, really comfortable and fashionable. Such a shame that they are closing so many shops around UK. There are not many retailers around UK and especially Evans has good quality clothes and it would be really bad to lose the company.

For many years i have been a loyal Evans customer but not any more. The larger size range has gone and to be honest when I first discovered this i was quite miffed, until I actually thought about it. Over the years my successful purchases from Evans have slowly declined, i can't tell you the number of tops i have returned because the neck was cut so wide it was impossible to hide my bra straps. As a mature Evans customer with plenty of cash to splash i was finding it increasingly difficult to find smart well made quality clothing at Evans. I never understood why Evans designers think us larger ladies need tops that are longer at the front than the back, or skirts that are longer at the back than the front. I understand the logic in making plus sized clothes in this strange way but for me it just didn't work and they never looked right. So on reflection I'm not really going to miss shopping at Evans which is just as well because if the number of dissatisfied comments are anything to go by i don't think they will be around much longer.

Used to be good for casual wear. Can still find the odd gem for occasional wear. I find I only really buy there now are their opaque black tights. I find quality has dwindled alot and prices have gone up more. For the price you are paying you would expect the clothes to last. My last actual purchase that wasn't tights was in-store about a year ago. Bought two pairs of leggings. They only lasted four washes then had to bin them, holes appeared in material and threads started going in the seams. In-store selection is very poor I find it is aimed moreso at matured wealthy ladies than my age. I used to buy clothing for work here but have found better offers and choice elsewhere.

As a number of people have already said, they have been loyal Evans customers for a long time, but now their loyalty is being put to the test through poor customer service, shoddy goods and lack of choice for those of us in the size 30-32 range.
I cannot understand why Evans has reduced their sizing as it seemed that anything nice in a size 30-32 always sold out before any other size. This alone makes me cross, but the pure and simple fact is, that they have declined in quality and substance over the years. The styling (especially non-existent sleeves) leaves a lot to be desired for the fuller figured lady and has become almost entirely focused on millennial ideologies whilst ignoring all other demographics.
As for quality, well, it is shameful that they charge what they charge for the flimsy items that they sell. The sad thing is, I feel bereft and as a fat woman, once again, I am being made to feel as though I am marginalised by society.
Kodak refused to recognise the rise of the digital revolution and their business declined to such an extent that they had to effectively protect themselves from bankruptcy and reorganise (i.e. sell off parts of their business) to survive. Evans, the writing is on the wall.....reconsider your demographics, your styling and your customer service or those few loyal customers that you do have will defect and shop elsewhere.

I have the same problems innumerable people seem to be experiencing;
1.No refund for faulty goods after 3 weeks
2.Customer service line the worst I have ever encountered, minimum wait of 31 minutes and 1hour and 5 minutes on a previous occasion.
What's going on with Evans you all ask? Could it be they are the next high street store going down the tubes?? Probably if this is the level of service that they think is acceptable.

Order not delivered to store for pick up. Unable to contact by telephone as just receive a message saying they are too busy to take calls. Emailed to explain the situation, stated I had checked in the store and it was not there. Received a reply to my email several days later telling me to go and check the store! So still not resolved.

Shocking bad service!
Disgusted that they can’t even be bothered to pick up the phone? You hear a msg saying that they are too busy, and the call gets cut off? What a lazy company!
My order is taking forever to arrive, and I can’t chase anybody up about it.
I’m livid! Fuming! I will make sure I complain about the complete lack of customer service,
And total disinterest in their customers!
