Awful experience. 39 minutes to change my address where I have been living for 14 months and am on the electoral roll. All other credit agencies have updated this information on time except Equifax. Once my call was finally answered, the line was so poor and the delay so noticeable I could barely make out what the lady was saying. I asked where she was based, and she replied in the Philipines!! During UK working hours. Amazing. Also unlike other complaints on here , there is no reasoning to Equifax scoring. My score is average to good on all the other agencies but Very Poor on theirs. It does t make sense. I’d avoid like the plague if I could , unfortunately the information they hold on file affects my life. Zero stars if it was possible

These guys have TERRIBLE service. I had to go to a supervisor, and they were just as bad as the regular rep. I NEVER have any of these problems with Experian. I just need a simple credit freeze removed and I have spent hours trying to get it done with no success. Their website is ALWAYS inaccessible, and tells me I need to call. When I do, it's just a complete run around and nobody has any information.

So I wispper ok cancel my service and she heard that perfect clear this place is a jk and has no update info telling me I haven't used my credit card in months. Yet I own a business and use it ever day. What a joke how can this place run people's credit is unreal to me.

I got 30 days free trial subscription of Equifax in July and cancelled within 30 days, but since every months your robbing £7.95 each months for last 3 months. I phoned so many times and they assure me that your account in cancelled if we charged anything we will refund you. They did not refund anything so far and today you charged again £7.95. I am busy in work/family. I do not have time to call you again and again and waiting and waiting. You are looters and robbers. Equifax is a scam. One advice to everyone stay away from their trap.
30 days free trial subscription is the biggest mistake i ever made in my life. If you not refund my money which you robbed me for last three months then I will make complain to the FCA.

Terrible phone service! Was on the phone with them, stating I didn't have an account with them but getting charged a fee anyways to get this dealt with. Gave them my email and then the person on the phone was rude and accused me of not giving them the right email because they couldn't find one. When they shouldn't have been able to find one in the first place cause I didn't have an account with them after telling them this repeatedly they just hung up. Very rude!

I am a victim of identity theft.
The "advisors" I have spoken with at Equifax have been very hard to understand. Not very empathetic or even very helpful.
The situation in general is currently still very stressful so I'd hoped once dealing with equifax it would become a little less so. But nope! At the end of phone calls and the "questions" section on the account part, leave me feeling even more frustrated.
The advisors I've spoken with actually sound like robots. Very difficult to understand.
The whole process so far has been an absolute joke.

So this is it! A USA company ran by USA law which when on receiving data forms from companies that decide if you owe them money or late in making a payment because you’ve been sick and don’t get sick pay can make your credibility a living hell! These credit score companies are quick enough to mark you down, to oppress the hard working people and are slow in putting your records right!
The whole idea of credit agencies should be completely redesigned to help people by taking on board more definitive circumstances and not just red squares, and a score which no one knows how they come to the score and by what method or means, I would like the government to take a more active roll in the redesign of such obsolete out of date credit companies which show no mercy to the individual, their families and the adverse effects they cause

Absolutely abysmal compared to the other Credit reference agencies. Their scoring system is completely inconsistent, no rhyme or reason to it and takes forever to update. I recently waited a year for my score to improve by 15 pts while the others update monthly. Then after a few positive changes on my file.. a late payment dropping off and paying down debts, the score suddenly dropped by 60 pts. I queried this and received a generic response that many factors can affect your score. After querying again I was told that I now fell into a different group and was scored differently. What am I actually paying for? Have now cancelled my subscription.

Total disgrace of a company. Small business owners need to be aware that Equifax produce incompetent reports on businesses, based on company house records. The Equifax report on my business suggested completely incorrectly that we had made substantial losses and a as a result a supplier refused to give us an account. They pass judgment on other people’s businesses while employing incompetent staff who can’t even understand a balance sheet.

BIzarre credit scoring on Equifax, I simply cannot make head nor tail of it!!! My credit report was fair back in later 2018 with only a Telecoms default from early 2017 showing on my file. However, in Sept 2019, after dutifully paying off my debts on time and keeping my nose clean, my score has gone down to "very poor" for no obvious reason! I've seen my score go up on other agencies but plummet on Equifax! When I rang them I got through to an Indian woman who was hard to hear (bad line as always) who explained that the default wasn't the issue but the fact I have taken out a Mobile phone contract back in June as well as an interest free credit card back in March! She then claimed that I was still on the electoral role for my old address, an address i move out of eight months ago... Joke!

This service is an absolute joke. I had a ccj which was cancelled and ordered to remove by the county court in winchester in march 2019. It was removed from all the other agencies apart of equifax which refuse to do so and simply breaking the law. People that work in there do not know the law which is unbelievable considering they deal with such an important informations about people in UK. I do not even mention that they should be at least based in the UK so they may understand the seriousness of this matter.

unable to create an account. Keep getting error message, called the number on the error message and spoke to someone with such a thick accent I could not understand half of what they said, even if they got what I said right they kept asking the same question over and over again. After ten minutes holding and fifteen minutes frustration. All I got was "We can confirm that your attempts to create an account were not successful" Try another browser. I did, but still get error message, even thought it confirmed the information I provided was correct

The old adage I would give minus stars if I could, how is this company even allowed to exist... firstly i am one of the thousands that have had basically all of my data stolen... which has caused me untold grief throughout the years. Now I find that my father is on my report with my date of birth, only thing is the account was taken out when I was a child.. the really funny side to all this equifax will not remove it and the company who it's with will not talk to me or my dad as there is no accout number. Now Equifax want me to send them my birth cert to prove that I was born with my name and not my dads!!! Seriously after you lot have lost all my data which I am currently going through the courts about you want me to send sensitive data through to you crap backward company! They refuse to remove it even though I have called them telling them I was a child when it was taken out I was not legally allowed to obtain credit.... the goverment needs to shut these clowns down and all the staff need to be hit with the stupid hammer to leave a big S on their foreheads so they are never given any jobs that require and responsibility.

When you sign up for Equifax they take your credit card details and says that you will be charged only if you order certain services. On the contrary they were charging me £7.95 every month without my knowledge. When I called them they said I had signed up for one month free and if I didn't cancel in that month I was to be charged £7.95 each month. This was never made clear while signing up online! Liars! And when you try to call them the quality of phone line is rubbish...…(very muffled poor quality phone lines)…..even a service provider of a "third world country" provides better service!

Awful service.i requested my late husband's credit report earlier this year with the documents.requested on their website.
Received letter march asking for details of executor.i wrote and emailed that no will was made and I am beneficiary and next of kin.
Still waiting so rang today.what a mistake.that was.
I gave reference number twice to lady that hardly understood English I think.she obviously did not bother to note ref number to get details up.as twice said would only speak with husband.absolutely disgraceful.
I asked to speak to someone in charge as getting nowhere.she put me on hold to connect..then came back on line!! I said it's you isn't it...yes she said....
Eventually spoke with someone else went through it all.again.
Who then but me on to someone else and went through all.again.she asked for number to.ring me back

Equifax makes statutory report easiest than any other of the UK agencies. You simply have an account and within two clicks you can see what is happening on your report.
I read people here complaining about this and that. What is that you really want here? You credit report? It is by law, and by this company's excellent design available to you, at anytime, for as many times as you want it and updates the moment a creditor submit a change.
Really, no idea what people come here and complaining about.

Like so many I would give zero stars if I could. I signed up for a paid account so I could check what details they hold as they’re one of the big three. Sign up seems to take ages, then I’m locked out of the account and told that the account can’t be activated using the information provided (which is funny as it’s the exact same information I provided to Experian and TransUnion without any issues!) and the only way I can get the account activated is by phoning - which I can’t do as I’m disabled, and they have zero accessible options. In this day and age that is disgusting in itself! I’ve tried contacting them via social media, but they ignore my messages whilst replying to others, it seems they’re not interested in helping if they know you’re going to be closing the account. By why would I pay for something I can’t even access??? I’ve ended up having to contact my bank and tell them to block Equifax from taking any money from my account as Equifax themselves won’t help me and I’m not getting any service from them. They whole issue has been a nightmare, and I shall be reporting it to the FCA.

Equifax appear to be running a scam to prevent people getting their £2 statutory credit reports, It works like this. They say that hey can't verify your identity so that you have to phone them. Then they hard sell you an upgrade, I am on to you and taking it up with my MP.

Horrific customer service - have been going round in circles with them for weeks. Eventually got to speak to someone and they were worse than useless. Sent them the proof they requested that information on my report was incorrect and they still haven't amended it after 4 weeks which is seriously affecting my credit rating unfairly.
Continually giving me wrong information. So frustrating. Why are this company still in business? Avoid if you can. If I could give zero stars I would.

I dont think this one review will make a difference in a flood of bad reviews. But here are my 2 drops of frustration.
- None of their staff seems to know anything about credit file/credit alert
- They tried to sell me a subscription of $199 which I already have. So they tried to sell it again to me and all i needed was my latest credit file, which I am eligible for free.
My frustrated Reply : I want credit file - not credit alerts, I have that subscription.
Agent Response : But dear "customer" - yes in order to get a free copy of your credit file, you need to subscribe to the alerts and you will be immediately get a credit file.
My even frustrated response : I dont want another subscription of alerts, just tell me how to get my credit file.
Agent Reponse : Ok "customer" - can you tell me when is your renew date of the subscription?
Imagine this going for 30 Mins and still i dont have my credit file.
Seems like he was reading a script, and thats why calling me "customer" instead of my name.
