It was my first time I’m used Clairol. I wanted to say thank you. Very good on my hair. Easy to use it. No problems with my hair and less white hairs. You should to add some oil ( more natural items ) i will definitely buy it.

I've used light brown fir twenty years but recently it is turning out reddish. Also, there used to be enough for multiple application s with my short hair. Yes, the cream smells much nicer but is disaster. The dullard that engineer Ed this change should be fired.

Your new formula sucks! My hair is a grease pit! Don’t need the extra moisture.

I totally agree with all the other reviews posted here your new formula is awful!! I’ve been using nice and easy for 30 years and am so disappointed as my light ash blonde is now dull with ginger tones, it doesn’t cover any greys as you claim, it leaves my hair greasy and worst of all I have a very itchy scalp for days after which I’ve never had before. Shame you didn’t do your market research before changing the formula I certainly won’t buy nice and easy again switching to Garnier!!!

I wish I had read the reviews before trying again to get the great results I always got from Nice and Easy. I’m talking decades!
As I sit here with my medium to light blonde hair turned an unnatural brown color, I’m mad and disappointed again. There is no truth to the color guide on the boxes. All medium blonde shades lead to brown hair. And not even a good brown. Done with Nice and Easy.

Bring back the old formula!! The so called new & improved is not. Stains my skin & the color is so much darker than the previous
Formula. I’m forced to look for another brand & color. So disappointed.

Have used N&E for years - it's so good that my hairdresser always compliments me on the colour, without trying to tempt me into a salon colour. Since they have changed from the 'mix' being in the small blue plastic bottle to a tube-like conditioner, it just isn't covering the grey around the hairline. As my hair grows out with additional colouring, the majority of the hair 'takes' but with a rolling failure around the hairline - perhaps that's the idea and you have to buy it more frequently!
Am glad to see it wasn't me being paranoid but that everyone is having problems. I will be writing to Clairol!

I have used Nice n Easy for years. My color was light caramel brown.
It was always good for compliments and it never damaged my hair.
My color is now called Light Mocha Brown (I'm assured that it is exactly the same color as Light Caramel Brown).
The color is darker, no more shine, no more highlights, hair texture is "rough". Why Why Why was a good product changed!!!!!

I have been using this product for years but latest purchase is diabolical! ABSOLUTELY NO GREY COVERAGE! How can they claim it is ‘age defying’ when you have as much grey at the end as the beginning. There is no perceptible difference between my hair now and before I started, except the blonde of 8A is more brassy!
I will have to buy a different product and do this again. NEVER EVER will I trust Clairol again.

The new formula is awful. I shampood twice after using it and used the conditioner. Rinsing for 15 minutes it still stained the towel. Skin staining is also really bad. This dye fades very quickly so must bleed every time you wash your hair. Leaves the hair dry and brittle. Never had a problem with the old formula this is just useless greasy horrible stuff.

Terrible with results of darker hair which felt greasy and flat. I contacted Clairol and they told me the formula was changed because the ingredient PPD is being banned. This simply is NOT true! It’s a cost cutting maneuver. Hoping all the complaints will finally give them the push to go back to the original formula which is what the consumers deserve!!!!

I used the new formula permanent Nice and Easy 5G - mid brown today and my hair is almost black! In addition, it just hasn’t covered properly so that I have patches ( unfortunately not streaks) which have not taken the colour of the dye. I’ve been trying to wash the awful colour out with washing up liquid and baking soda in the hope that the lighter patches don’t present such a contrast but so far it hasn’t made a lot of difference. Now I don’t know what I’m going to do! I have used the Clairol product for many years and have always been pleased with it but they have clearly changes it- and for the worse!!!
Clairol need to read these reviews ( wish I had before I used it) and offer solutions to all these people who have had their hair wrecked by this awful product.
DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!

I've used Clairol brown shades for 25 years. People have always asked which salon I go to, to have my hair done because its looked that great and are surprised to learn I colour it myself at home. I've always highly rated how easy hair colouring works at home with Nice and Easy. BUT not any more, not since the changes of packaging and the new formula was introduced onto the retail shelves. Since purchasing the new Clairol Nice and Easy, I've found the colour isn't the same. The formula makes my skin feel uncomfortable whilst applying and washing, and there is no longer natural tones in the colour, only a boring one tone finish. The colours are also not the same shades. The natural light brown which I use to apply, is now a darker shade. Very disappointing. I am in desperate search of a replacement brand, even if it means that I may need to pay more for the product, as long as it gives me the results which I've had for all these years. Sadly, I will not be using Clairol hair colouring products again unless they consider reversing their formula and going back to the original. Such a shame to change it after all this time, when it worked so well.

Nice & Easy 6A 'Light Ash Brown' used for years ... it always gave me a slight golden highlight...
Problem: I used 'New Formula' today ... now my hair is now Very Dark Brown !!! VERY DISAPPOINTED !

I have been using Nice and Easy for over 20 years. This new formula stinks. I use 8R. My hair is all a Crayola color. No highlights. I loose a lot of hair with each application. The hair itself feels so dry that I cannot run my fingers through it when it is wet. I also get split ends very easily. I had to buy a "leave in" conditioner to use in addition to the tube included in the kit, otherwise I can't get a brush through my hair without fighting with tangles. My hair is straight with very little curl. I think it's time I tried another brand.

I have been using the Medium Blonde for years as it gave such a natural, slightly golden shade. Even when I enquired at a top hairdressers about having my hair professionally coloured, they told me to stick with the Nice & Easy as it suited me so much. Now that is a compliment for Clairol! HOWEVER, the new formula makes that shade look so dull and even ashen! I hate ashen shades! I too will have to look at other colours as really not keen on this new formula. Why do companies keep changing things that work!

One thing I trusted about Nice n easy was the fact that it WOULDN'T cover my grays 100%, leaving a nice blend of undertones and highlights. I always used Medium Brown n. 5 and bought the "improved" formula, and now my hair is a dull dark flat mahogany brown all over. No dimension, no shine, just a dark reddish brown all over. I look like I'm wearing a Halloween wig. Heading to the salon today for a very expensive fix. I want to cut them the slack that maybe the new formula is better at covering grays, but honestly who wants to wear a dry flat matte helmet?

I wrote to Clairol months ago when new formula first appeared. I asked for advice on what I could use in future as my scalp tingled when I’d used it so washed it out. Being in a tube also meant that I couldn’t gauge half amount and used every 3 weeks as I had been doing for 30+ yrs and getting MANY compliments.
I did not get a reply! Not surprising I suppose as there isn’t as far as I know anything on the market that compares with the original. The very natural blend of shades and the condition it left my hair in were superb.
No option for no stars unfortunately. Surely they will bring it back but what to do until they do? I have JUST used the last of the old version I was lucky to find.

I am so disappointed in the new formula, I have lost so much hair in the last month, I want to cry!
The formula no longer has those wonderful highlights that made my hair look so natural. I will be looking for another product

I an 67 years old and I too have used Clairol, now Coty, nice'n easy for many years with excellent results. The colour I used was 7C, Natural Cool Dark Blonde. The colour was easy to use and apply, it didn't stain my skin and my hair, which is very long remained in excellent condition despite colouring all of my hair completely on each occasion. Having kept a reasonable stock of my favourite colour, I have only recently tried the 'new and improved' formula. Disastrous, a completely different colour and tone and severe skin staining. If the company finds it necessary to improve the formula so be it, but why change the colour and keep the hair colour number and title the same? Also, the skin staining, I have not experienced this with the previous formula,I feel some legal advice is required?

I have used Nice N Easy for years and been very happy with the results, UNTIL, they changed the formula. My hair is now very dry and the colour washes out from light auburn to honey blonde within a few washes. BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA - did it cause CANCER or something? Can't understand why Clairol would change a winning formula otherwise, or is it another an example of Corporate Greed?
WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?

I have been using Medium Champagne Blonde for a long time and always received lots of compliments on the colour even from my hairdresser. I feel bereft at not being able to get it any longer. Have tried Dark Champagne Blonde with terrible results. With medium my hair looked natural with highlights and perfect depth of colour, now it is too dark, flat and unnatural colour. Please, please bring back your previous products or I will have to try a different brand.

I LOOK LIKE A WITCH!
just dyed my hair, the same colour I always use, dark golden brown in either nice and easy, Nutrisse., nice and easy semipermanent, or olia. I'm in shock that my hair is JET BLACK, no golden tones at all, just pure black and I'm horrified. I'm 47 fgs, I haven't dyed my hair black for 20 years, when I used to be a goth, I certainy can't pull it off now!! God knows how long this will take to fade, I bet it doesn't tho, unlike usually when it's faded within a couple of months. The box says "New and Improved Care Formula". To me that's means added conditioners, not a TOTALLY DIFFERENT COLOUR. I'm now going to contact Clairol and make a formal complaint.

I bought this product from Walgreens tonight. I have used this product for 3 plus years.
I am OCD and ensured all my products were in the box before even using it. Before using it today, I ensured my hair wasn't washed for 2 days to ensure I built up more natural oils since I was bleaching it. While using this product, I did notice it was a tad more annoying on my scalp than normal. It was a sutle difference but I contributed that to maybe it's because I haven't did touchups in awhile.
About 7 mins in to applying it it had really started to irritate me and I immediately removed the product cause then I knew that was very abnormal. Once I got the product off, I have come to realize that product so damaged my hair.my hair feels like hay. It's fried and my hair has broken near my ears on both sides half way down. My scalp is extremely sensitive right now, almost feels like a sunburn but in my head.
I had hair falling out too. Like I'm so upset..
my ears are still very red, scalp is very sensitive and I've lost a lot of hair, I have a burn on my head and ears waking up today too.. this company discontinued this product.. pretty apparent as to why
