OMG, chess.com silenced another reviewer by complaining that he is "Prejudicial toward certain nationalities". Are you for real, "Impeached".. To avoid true and real reports about scumbag, cowards/cheaters from 3rd world countries. They owned "Trustpiolet"....are we safe anymore with our freedom of speech? clearly Not against chess.com.
Cheaters on chess.com..., they don't care...It's so obvious what the deal is that it's a joke. I don't even bother reporting the games anymore. Chess.com literally has NEVER done anything about any report I or anyone I know have ever made.
Why is there not a button right there next to the board to report the player for cheating like there is anywhere else you can play chess online? Seems like chess.com don't want to be bothered with it. Bottom line? The cheating on chess.com is absolutely RAMPANT and this server is less effective in identifying it and doing something (legitimately doing something) about it than anywhere else you can play chess online
Common "Trustpilot", don't let chess.com keep our reviews from being published - "Chess.com reported this review for breach of Trustpilot guidelines. We are currently assessing the review in accordance with our reporting processes".
I totally agreeing with "poor sport" groups to punish us, the few who write a review on Trustpiot about chess.com.
chess.com protect paying members. Cheaters, Runner, Cowards can do ANYTHING and chess.com will look the other way. It is no longer about the game of chess. Want to cheat with a chess program? just pay membership and in no time you will be a GM with rating over 2000. Jut remember, you are a member of the most corrupt chess site and you learned nothing about chess.

More than 90% of the games I play are against people using chess computers to win. Even when obvious cheating is reported, chess.com looks the other way. They are more interested in their claim of being the largest chess site than enforcing their rules of fair play. Their learning material is marginal, much of which is poorly written text instruction. I regret joining this site. There are other sites with better more interactive training. I believe the other positive reviews on this site are phony marketing attempts sponsored by chess.com to hide the truth about their poor service, marginal training, and their huge problem with cheaters.

To many cheaters, especially in rapid games with increment.
More needs to be done! The cheaters usually blunders or plays poorly in the opening then plays almost perfect for 60+ moves.
They need to be more strict and actually deter cheaters from the page

god awful chess site , quick matches match you with random people who are way above your level , good idea to just demotivate someone wanting to slowly get better at chess by matching them with oponents way above their level , i guess they are a partner site of riot games or something seeing how elo is an unknown concept for them

Once even one singular cheater infiltrates the platform, they contaminate the entire pool. Thing is chess.com has more cheaters vs. actual legit players.
It's hilarious that they try to entice you to become a paid member even. Why anyone would is beyond me.
Stay away from the online battles, everyone on there is a hacking cheat using app engines to win it. So blatantly obvious. It doesn't take a grand master to see it. Funny thing is these cheaters don't even try to hide the fact, they are all candid about it.

I played this and enjoyed insulting my opponents as I crushed them like Ivan drago Vs Apollo creed in rocky 4 it's just banter smashing my opponents as they tried using CPUs and engines reviewing my thoughts against GM programs after to constantly see moves too advanced for level. I was quickly put in a ban then after being told to super glue my rook to my shaft can u imagine then bing I'm in a 800level with players playing near perfect chess where I continually win then lose then win then loose then I get to 900 and bing Fu*Kos perfect chess again. So two accounts is cheating whho gives a sh*t I open the account and right there and then I'm back at the top drinking pale ale from the furry cup of chesscoms a*s I'm mensa iq with written linguistic terrets so I visited the home of said chess com bosses and consecutively defecated in each of their slippers. PS I receive a check of 200k per year for my disability I then showed the boys at the chess.com these facts and threatened to go public with my evidence the promptly replaced my account pic with that of a flaccid fallace and my board skin became thus a woven tribute constructed of crab infested pubic hair. So f*k a chess.com.

This site allow third world hacks and other people with horrible connections to cheat using lag. The lag compensation system they use either a.Overcompensates the lagger so that his clock never moves or b.Creates the impression that the lagger is moving very slowly when again his clock is not moving at all. It is next to impossible to play against these lag cheats in bullet and it often affects blitz games as well.

Do not spend the money for this site if you want to play chess. It is full of thousands of cheaters. They claim they have an anti-cheating effort but it is not working. The cheaters that do get caught just join again with another email. The problem is that most of the players are not paid members and lose nothing from cheating.
Over half of the players cheat with engines.

The first review I see is right on .The concept is GREAT . The issue is their software SUCKS and they refuse to address it . With the sophisticated software they have invested OUR MEMBERS MONEY in ,every day I am playing on the site I have the same problem everyone is complaining about . It is all the time for months . With no rhyme or reason We get " frozen " or " locked out ." You go to move a piece and nothing happens , nothing can movew regardless of ehat piece I click . ALL THE Time . I am on my cell and I have to go to my PC and nothing . Once in a blue moon that will work as the time keeps ticking and you opponent is getting pissed too . Then all of a sudden after hitting every piece trying to move it will all of a sudden connect for a second and a piece you have no want to move will click and mess with you as it works one minute and then does not . GOOD SPORTS huh ? Then to really piss you off both computer and cell freeze up , you can"t move a piece , and they stick salt on your wound with the insulting ridiculous childish " How to be a good sport " email Crap everyone has seen .Of course their Customer Service Dept hides in their virtual world behind the Internet because of course they offer no phone number because they know how many PISSED OFF PEOPLE would be calling . I have sent Many emails back and forth with AMANDA .Try it . See the fluff . Corrective action talks and BS walks . All you get is that it is a " CONNECTIVITY ISSUE , Are you kidding me ? I have been in business for over 30 years and wonder how a Company can stay in business with a review rating of 2 ? Con Artist evil intended People running a company would do nothing to and not care about such horrible reviews and PISSED OFF PEOPLE , do nothing to correct
such a wide spread problem and just fix the " GLITCH " If it walks like a duck , quacks like a duck and swims like a duck , guess what ? Fix the problem CHESS.COM and I will be the first to thank you and spread the word . Actions speak louder than words . Your actions CHESS.COM are a direct reflection of your disgusting reviews . So far your actions are FRAUDULENT ,NEGLIGENT , IMMORAL , UNACCEPTABLE . People that read my review can fall for your SCAM if they chose . Hopefully this will either catch CHESS.COM 's attention and they will fix the glitch or help millions of people worldwide see this Co. for what it is . As a Licensed Maryland Home Improvement Contractor I would be put in JAIL if I take money and do not produce what I promise because it is considered Criminal , Felonious , and called FRAUD and EMBEZZLEMENT . The only difference here is that it is FEDERAL and INTERNATIONAL . Bernie Madoff thought he was too big and Powerful to be touched . Well , we all know what finally happened to him . He is on a long " ALL EXPENSE PAID VACATION . That is exactly where the Principles of CHESS.COM will will " Vacation " when enough people get fed up and complain to the Attorney Generals . Am I crazy or is it not stupid to allow so many complaints, so many bad reviews , and do nothing to address such a simple issue to correct as " CONNECTIVITY " ? Does anyone checking them out not agree ? They took Bernie down , They took Silverstein down , and that is exactly what should happen to the PRINCIPLES of CHESS.COM if they continue to think they are above the Law and untouchable .I have learned many lessons in my journey through business and life many things . With the Principles and Officers of CHESS.COM I think the most appropriate is " THE BIGGER THEY ARE , THE HARDER THE FALL " . Anyone world wide that sees my post ? Let's force CHESS.COM to fix their " GLITCH " or help me " take them out " .

I don't think that many people are cheating because there's no point in points. The site uses the Glicko Rating System. FIDE/USCF uses the Elo Rating System which isn't even remotely the same. My main issue was you're given a starting rating on signup based on how experienced you say you are. In less than a month I had to block almost 100 people for abandoning the game, intentionally letting the clock run out, stalling when their stats show them to be quite skilled.
I'm new and play like it yet I was consistently matched with people rated 400 to 1000. Frustrating and boring for both sides. Customer service is a complete joke. "My name is so and so and chess is my life! We see you've cancelled your membership. I'm here to help..." After I respond, I get a different rep. Ask a technical question? They refer you to outside sources. The CS reps clearly aren't chess players.
Your rating can go up or down simply because of bad net connections or people just walking away from a game. How is that fair or reasonable? I was rated over 300 but can't even beat the computer on the easiest possible setting! Really don't think people were cheating at least not in blitz because there's no reward for winning and you just get paired with more or less experienced players and other cheaters.
They fail to rate or match people according to true skill. I do believe people initially cheat when signing up by saying they're new when they aren't. From there they obliterate people and get a very high score with many wins. It only takes them so far though. Some reviews state their rating went down after not playing for awhile. The site says they do that because they cant evaluate you unless you play all the time. Seriously?

This site is full of cheaters. Recently i played a game and was sute that my opponent was cheating.i comfirmed using lichess site. I imported the game. The average centipawn loss of my opponent was just 13 which is most of grandmasters. Any centipawn loss below 25 indicates the possibilty of cheating but this guy has 13 and he made no blunder and no mistakes. At his level players usually make atleast one blunder or mistake but he made none. Which confirms cheating
Advice - please dont play at this site as it is full of cheaters

I play many many games on chess.com and have had an excellent user experience. I have upgraded to diamond membership and love the videos, lessons, tactics and training. I have recommended it to all my chess friends.
My son and I also love the TV content, including the excellent coverage of the Isle of Man tournament in October 2019.

1. Too many cheaters. I estimate 40% of the people below 1400 rating are cheating using databases for opening moves, computer programs to help with continuation in the middle game, and engines in the endgame.
2. Because there are so many cheaters. People like me who are between 1400 and 1500 are stuck in the 1100-1200 range wondering why we can't beat someone who is 1100 consistently.
3. The only app on the market that lets you move and premove illegal moves just so you can hear a buzzer indicating you can't move there. Why? It's a waste of time. We're playing on mobile devices. It's easy to fat finger moves.
4. The move confirmation button is over top of the back and forward buttons. So sometimes you can't use the button without hitting the back and forward buttons. And even if you mastered that skill, the move list is micrometers from the button so you can accidentally hit those and go back even further.
5. The GUI is glitchy and Over crowded with information that should be present only in review. You can tell it was made by people who don't play chess seriously.
6. Latency issues. I make a move it takes 6 seconds off my clock and my opponent makes 5 moves within 3 seconds. This is a huge problem.
I even caught someone that I suspected was cheating that got his account disabled in the photos. Even if they don't cheat the whole game. They will use an engine to get them out of a tough situation at any point in the game
This site has become yahoo games to me. I can see a future where there is no one there for the fun of playing chess but just to troll the people who are real players.

I fell inexplicably to mid 1400 overnight on Chess.com. The head of their customer service denies any cheating. I change to Lichess and rank 1838 ELO a week later for the same blitz game. Lichess scores are about 200 points more generous, which matches what Chess.com's staff told me: that I play at about 1600 ELO by their standards. That I lost 200 points overnight points to cheating within Chess.com.
At no establishment, online or physical business, have I experienced rudeness and arrogance like that exhibited by Chess.com's head of customer service. He publishes criticisms not only of your games but of you personally. The CEO emailed him and told him to be nicer, and shortly thereafter implemented a member feedback rating of staff online behavior.
One of my last games on Chess.com featured a member whose tactics measured at ELO 2014 yet the sandbagger was hiding inside blitz 1400 ELO with artificially low fake blitz rating, a problem explicitly confirmed by Chess.com's technical service as a epidemic in their website.

i joined the site, first game i played against a 1232 rating guy, he played like a grandmaster and his accuracy was 97% and i reported him to the website for cheating, they refused to give me my points back, and took 5 days to do it, but i have already won 4 other games, and now it takes me lots of time to go back to my real rating which is 1950, i deleted my account. it's full of cheaters which causes people's rating to be very wrong, sometimes you get a 1350 that is stronger than a 1600,... very weird, Lichess.org is much better, more respected people and friendly environnement

I was a paying member for years, then quit as I can play bots/cheats for free.
I am now 2300+, and am one of the top rated players currently on chess.com - free member.
But - most of my games are won by out-timing whom I suspect of being chess cheats.
Chess.com have serious ongoing problems.
1) Money Pinching: Not that I experienced this but there is a consistent theme amongst reviewers below that members are being screwed for money. That's awful marketing.
2) Hidden Service: They sign off all replies 'Chess.com Team.' That itself is a problem. If you had confidence in your team, give specific names/email contacts. Yes more work, but you will get the salaries back in a jot with more subscribers.
3) Points Failures: If a player is banned for cheating, all opponents should receive their points for the entire history of that player's games. Chess.com should then double those points due to their poor service and for allowing valued customers to play a cheat. No reward/compensation is *ever* offered for time wasted/stress experienced, even when chess.com admits to you having played a cheat. That's a disgrace.
4) Limited playing options: If Chess.com want paying subscribers, allow subscribers the option of only playing other paying subscribers. The % cheats amongst paying subscribers must be 95% down as people do not pay to cheat.
5) Feedback:...is so poor it's staggering. Even when you identify a cheat, even when they agree, they still do not honour you with an apology, or with info of which player you complained about. All you get is 'someone did cheat' you have soandso more points.' That says it all about the way they run their business, by hiding behind a pc somewhere in India.
I cannot see me being a member again.

Chess.com is an unethical scam site. They have pop up ads that you can't block and they get paid by businesses to have these ads. If you don't pay a monthly subscription they use these ads that they are getting paid to display to freeze your game and its unplayable. Then you have to pay chess.com to remove the ads if you want to actually be able to play unharrassed. This site in all fairness should be removed.

I have been playing chess for over 20 years, I was a member of USCF rated 1800. I was a paid member at chess.com. If your opponent is a sore loser or didn't like you, he/she can flag you as "poor sport". Therefore, the "poor sport" group, only playing each other's. My reporting to chess.com of cheaters, runners, speech hate, Etc. was ignored for several months, and I found myself isolated from "real chess players", I was allowed to play ONLY against cheaters and "poor sport" players. Cheaters are welcome at chess.com. AVOID!!!

Really unstable software, freeezing up yet charging tour clock the whole while. Game after game lost when you aren't allowed to move a single piece. It is saturated with cheaters. People have found ways to artificially lower their blitz rating far below their actual tactical ability, so their games are all one sided. People make instant and flawless moves way above their stated elo ranking. Glaring instant turn around in games, where a clear loss under way is miraculously turned onto a brilliant dominating victory, yet Chess.com whines about how hard this is to detect this, notwithstanding their own software can talk your each and every move on split seconds. Therefore it can detect miracle turn arounds in split seconds. Still, they claim armies of footsolildiers are wandering through the woods, lost, trying to find a cheater in the wilderness. Pathetic. -- Update: a month later, finishing what remains of my subscription, and the same continues: you play someone supposedly blitz 1400, and get destroyed because secretly they hold tactics of 2000 ELO. This has happened twice, and 5 times a day with a tactical 1700 hiding behind a blitz 1400. Chess.com makes excuses and changes nothing, denying everything. Imagine a bank that says only a portion of their cash is counterfit, but it is hard to detect, so we take our sweet time finding it, but meanwhile you go on and make withdrawals. The problem is not that bad, they say. Maybe it isn't to them. It isn't their money. Theirs is one of the most expensive subscriptions out there.
