Honestly the worst bank. Had a credit card with them and another bank. Charge a good same amount on both card. Pay them both monthly. With capitol one credit card I pay three times the amount i would pay the other banks card. At the end of the year Im nearly done finish paying of my other credit card but capitol one. I still owe them almost the same amount as i started. Thats with me locking both my card in the safe and just paying them up. Worst bank ever. Something doesnt add up so i decided to pay the full amount and bring my balance to 0. The following month i was still charge interest on the full amount i owe prior to paying them in full. I called and ask them how the hell was i charged interest on a 0 balance and was specifically told that the interest was charged based upon my balance prior to me paying them in full which was 2 months prior to the statement bill. The rep directs me to the page about how they calculate interest and literally right upbove it states if full balance is paid on time before due date, you do not owe them any more money. The rep tells me to disregard what is written and only focus on how their interest is calculated but i told her thats 2 months prior to this day. I already paid the full amount but she kept saying disregard that full balance payment and interest was charge before that. Wth. So its August with 0 balance on that credit card, paid off in july with a 0 balance and my interest was base off the month of june's balance. Wth. Worst bank ever. Avoid if possible. Oh and on the note, i got so heated I closed my account and guess what.......Im still able to log into my account and view my account. Worst Bank ever. Avoid at all cost. There are many other way better bank institutions to bank with. Capitol one is just bad. Never bank with them.

Horrible company. If they sue you for owed debt just contact helpsishere they will help you if you are disabled or low income and can't afford to pay your debt. Contact a lawyer before capital one sues. Make sure they obey the fair debt collection.

Venture card is good for small travel purchases but you have to be a spendthrift to get enough points for airfare. At $0.01 per mile to redeem it takes 40,000 points for a $400 ticket, not even enough for a flight from Houston to Boston let alone someplace exotic. The airline cards aren't much better but at least you can occasionally get a cheap seat for 25,000 miles plus no charges for baggage. After a year of purchases I was only able to accumulate 60,000 miles!

I personally love CapitalOne. I have Wells Fargo accounts as well, but nothing compares to CapOne. They give better credit lines, better rewards, better benefits, great interest on savings accounts, and also really solid customer service. Can't say I've had any bad experiences with them so far. I'm a pretty happy customer.

Do not ever apply for retail credit card at any store. Owned a Maurice's credit card and did not know Capital One was the bank owner on it. Was late on a payment within an hour and refused to wave late fee/interest charge telling me they already had done this for me when the same exact thing happened. Also got major attitude telling me if they were to waive again I would still get another late fee because it takes 2 days to process credits and that day was my due date (for the late fee and interest). Told me if I had called on the 1st (was due on the 4th) it would not have applied. Spoke with a manager who was unwilling to bend at all about this so I closed the account. BS and NOT WORTH any store discount. I will not longer shop at Maurice's either for this horrible experience. I will challenge any mark on my credit too.

Just opened an account. Everything went wrong. Technical issues galore. Not even able to fund it. Cant authenticate online due to some 3rd party verifcation yet inspite of this when I called in, my number was verified! The agent I spoke to however didnt want to help and just hung up. Sounded like a total ghetto kid. Well in call center land you get what you pay for. No wonder Capital One caters to low income....silly me for taking reviews seriously and thinking they were innovative and efficient!

I have been attempting to make payments and obtain statements on Littlewoods account
The account shows no transactions and is blocked by an advert by the CLOWNS at Capital One
They were threatened last year with legal action now time to reopen the case as their apologies in writing mean nothing

Most responsible credit lenders in the 21st century will generally follow a simple rule when it come to cash advances/withdrawals/lines. This rule being there is a one time handling fee, which in the case of Cap1 is £3 or 3%. Then interest will be applied for each day the cash balance is not paid. Most credit lenders will allow you to make a payment, and apply that payment to the charge which accrues most interest (most cases that would be the cash). This is not the case for Cap1. I took out this card as I wanted to transfer the balance from another card. I transferred over £500 to my 3 day old card. In the unfortunate event of a family emergency, I was forced to take out £10 using the credit card. I was happy to accept the handling fee (£3) but when I enquired about paying back the £10 to avoid additional charges. I was told I had to repay the full balance but it was okay and that I would have to do that ‘because the interest is going to be less that £1 a month’? I couldn’t care less. The policy is backwards and ancient. Not what I would expect from a modern banking institution. Would advise anyone to look elsewhere.

Do not use this credit card if you want to improve your credit score. Took out this card to prepare to apply for a mortgage. Have used under 50% of limit and paid in full each month but over 1 year later no changes to the limit and no communication from the company whatsoever. Do your research first and use a card that supports you to improve your credit score, which is not Capital One unfortunately in my experience

I won't go into details but I needed help from them, and an advisor called Kirsten was just incredible. She helped every aspect of my problem, and got me a resolution I wasn't expecting. She spoke to me with such respect and empathy, and that day I really needed a friendly voice. So thank you so much cap1!

I have had 2 Capital One credit cards, and they started off amazing with customer service. But honestly, they keep adding fees and interest on things that they haven't before. To top it off their customer services has become horrendous, they don't even have a Chat option on account pages anymore, and almost never resolve my problem. Capital One has truly embodied the shrug as their solution to any issue. When I pointed out that they should have sent me an email that if I didn't pay for a cash advance that day I'd have daily interest, they just kept repeating that I should have read the agreement again. When I had an issue like this with a different company the other company did this really crazy thing and took care of it. But not CapitalOne no, they just shrugged. Seriously, I used to love them, but there are other credit cards, and if you're reading this I suggest you use them and never Capital One. Brand loyalty is a two way street. I'll be leaving them for a different company.

I sent them additional documents as they requested in my application. They apparently didn’t receive them and now I’ve been asked to try and apply again. I think this all has been very bad for my credit score as now I don’t even qualify. Fraudulent bank.

Here it is a week later and they have yet to complete. Though I put my auto payment on my credit card by mistake, they have yet to move from credit to auto. And to top it off, they withdrew again, it cleared my bank and they claim they show no such transaction. Only claim to show 4/5 and not the duplicate 4/8 which my bank says as such. I have actually spoken with 4 people one of whom was a supervisor who claimed she would take care of, well she did not. Last call I specifically asked for U. S. based and not foreign and he says will clear this up, another week, so we will see. On top of their duplicate withdrawal, my bank account is now short. Now, I have to wait for them and my bank? I work in the accounting/bookkeeping field, this was a simple transfer from one account to another they could not do it right and yet Capital Auto calling asking me for payment. Wow, I guess they don't read notes. Had no issues up to now and giving one star since I cannot give zero and I will end up having to wait two to three weeks.

Worst customer service I've had in my life!
I've been trying to get a card activated with them for over a month now. However no matter the amount of documents I submit to them, it's still not enough! I never experienced that with any other financial institution or other credit card companies. CapitalOne is ridiculous.

Had to contact them as had purchases that I did not recognise but they looked at them and we worked out that they were correct so this put my mind at rest although at time their website is a little bit on the slow side

Unethical business. Was told on a recorded line I could switch to a no annual fee card and get refunded to fee I already paid. After the switch told me no refunds even though I paid the fee just a few days prior to the switch. If they had told me the truth I would have just kept the card I had. I’ve read many reviews like this. Don’t trust anything they say.

Robbing toe wrags, I didn’t use my £200 credit limit it built up from very small amount lying in the used which quickly built up as I’d originally set it up for credit rating establishing.
Out of a bill payment account which they have been taking their amounts randomly.
Not happy quick to phone to point out your over due not to quick to phone when you being fleeced Mmm

Superb service. Best mobile app in the UK (out of all Cr providers). Best online service.
Capital One Financial (US) is a powerhouse; in the UK they offer starter cards but they are really a very solid credit bank to have in your wallet. Superb service, billing is always correct and they don't pull any stunts (what I had to suffer with sub-prime "banks")
I would reccomend CapitalOne Cr Card to anyone who wants credit, the app is better than any other, try it and tell me it isn't so.

Applied online--got accepted--card delivered before time--Downloaded App--account up and running..Within second, transactions appear on the app.

Noticed an annual fee on my statement which surprised me since I've never had one before and my card isn't supposed to be assessed one. Called customer service and asked them if they could explain and they just kept telling me through broken English it shows I'm being charged one but couldn't explain why or the fact my card shouldn't have one and had never been charged one in previous years but magically this year it did. First call I think she just hung up on me when she couldn't explain why and second call I got her to waive the fee but she says I'll have to call back next year to get it 'waived' again but again couldn't explain. Horrible, going to look at switching cards after almost 10 years with them.
