further to my 16th july review of budget at Pula airport this is an update. I have sent them numerous e mails all of which are responded to with a statement 'we will add this to your complaint number " but which never goes further.Luckily my credit card provider has refunded the money and I am now pursuing budget via the government approved system ,as they should not be allowed to get away with such dishonest activities from their franchisee. I used them for many rentals but will never use them again and advise you to read these reviews and then rent from someone else.

Arrived at Cagliari airport with full of excitement soon to be destroyed by Budget and Avis car rental. First they did not have the exact car I booked for over a month ago. Then they tried to charge extra for sat navs which was meant to be fully. Then they charged me more for the car that I did not book because they did not have it. Not my problem thou, is it? It's not my fault neither. But I still had to pay more than what I have reserved for. Then more s.h.i.t.s come. Car was dirty but they told me they could charge me over 200 pounds for clean to threaten me. A lady budget person seemed polite but does not speak english enough to conduct business nor to be polite. Then this Avis guy stocked his nose in and try to over powe us by being professional. Really was a horrible experience. So lucky we are peaceful people. I WOULD NOT USE BUDGET NOR AVIS. PLEASE TRY AVOID THEM FOR YOUR GOOD.

They made us sign documents before picking up the car without actually letting us see what's on his computer. The guy refused to show us what he's got on the screen and misled us into thinking we are signing a different document. 3 weeks later they sent us a bill of over £120.

Highly unprofessional and you are in high risk of getting scammed here. I rented a car for two days and got billed for 4 weeks. Customer service doesn't act at all, no reaction to the letter from my lawyer, no reaction to a complaint via European Commission Online Dispute Resolution Service. I have to get a french lawyer now to get my money (more than 1100€) back.

If I could leave negative stars, I would. This company and its employees are DISHONEST!!! We rented a 12 passenger van for my 11 year old son’s birthday party. We prepaid for 24 hours. We picked up the van around 11AM on Saturday morning and had no further use for it following the birthday party that day. We cleaned out the van, filled it with fuel, then returned to van to the EXACT spot from which we retrieved it at 8:30 the following morning, LESS THAN 24 HOURS FROM WHEN WE PICKED IT UP! The branch was not yet open, so we deposited the key into the drop box as per instruction. The employee on duty that day apparently NEVER BOTHERED to check the deposit box, which was apparently not checked until Monday AM. This company then added charges to our credit card for an additional day! We called immediately to report the error. Their so-called “investigation” found “no discrepancy” (of course). I will make sure to tell EVERYONE I KNOW to NEVER rent from this company. They are TERRIBLE AND DISHONEST!! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! They will steal from you!

Extremely long wait, broken equipment, staff verging on disabordinate, intentionally missleading aka lied to our faces, and damn near refused to make it right.

Made a reservation online for a 4 cylinder small car. When I got there they only had 8 cylinder trucks left. When I told them what happen to my reservation, the only thing they said was sorry we are over booked. They said they had a big event in town and that no where in the valley had small cars. Went online a s in seconds found another vehicle with a different company. So not only they wanted to make more money out of me, disregard my reservation but are also filthy liars. First time trying there service never doing that again.

I’m standing in a line of over 50 people waiting to pick up the rental of my Budget vehicle that I reserved online.
There is ONE ticket agent working. He is busy processing FASTBREAK customers and not helping paying clients who are currently waiting in line. We have been waiting in line over 20 minutes and the line has not moved at all. There are 9 customers ahead of us in line. We are going to miss the funeral that we have flown into town to attend because Budget can’t get their act together to run a business.
Our reservation was made over a week ago, so Budget is well aware that we are arriving. This is disrespectful service.
Do not rent from this company.
This is unacceptable.

I rented a nice car for a good price in Olbia. A couple of days after I returned it, without notifying me of anything, Budget cars took 600 euros from my credit card. When I called them, they sent me a trumped up report about a broken lock (which I had not used, since the car key had a remote). I still did not manage to get my money back, they do not respond anymore to my emails. I would strongly discourage renting from budget cars to event falling prey to such scams.

Besides dirty cars sprayed with water to act as a car wash, the customer service is horrible!
As a frequent budget renter I have been disrespected and treated poorly both at jfk, nyc and phone.
I really don’t understand how they train their ages but it is to pourable, I will never rent from budget again I would rather pay more money and go somewhere else to be treated like crap #WhiteBoyProblems

Hiring the car was easy despite all the up selling and over a 30 minute wait, I returned the car in mint condition and videoed it several days later over £400 has been taken off my card with no explanation I have now got to pursue them for a refund which I will at the highest level

It was something wrong with their website. Everytime I reserve a one way and then confirm the one way after looking at the phone and with the budget employee... It'll reserve a local after reserving. This happened 5x so I went to another company and budget wants me to pay them $510 for a one way when I usually pay $16-$70. I'd called an reported this issue and I had no justice resolved. I will never rent from them again because few of their employees don't investigate eagerly. Because of this I became do upset thinking about it and lock the keys inside the trunk and paid more money. Stress and insulting aggravation and no help. I think of this daily and everytime I reach out to someone ... No one now's what to do. I have a budget employee witness which should be enough. I'd been renting for four years posting on Google review as support for others to experience the rentals I'd rented.

Got home and two weeks later had a £150 charge on my card. No reason, no justification. Have asked bank to sort as this is against VISA terms.

rented SUV from them,1 rst of all it stank. really crappy job on cleaning them,They dont answers their phones transfers you to national,then if u forget something in car forget bout getting it back.in Portland budget rental 1 person has the key from lost and found and that person comes and goes as he wants no1 else can help u get your stuff back left note no1 called back. i would never rent from them and recommend if you reading this go somewhere else..

these people literally stole money from my credit card charging 160Euros for 2 day rental of an economic car (Renault Clio).
This happened in Bodrum Turkey - so stay away from there.
After pre-booking a 2 day rental on the internet, I showed up at the pick up location.
The guy at the reception could not speak a word of english.. he asked me for the credit card - I thought it was for deposit insurance (a standard practice) - but he actually used the card to charge me this rip-off amount with me being able to check the amount or digit any pin code.
Despite my numerous requests to have a receipt, the guy reassured me that the cost would be 80euros (he wrote the figure on a piece of paper..)
At my return in the UK I fund I was charged twice - 1000 Turkish Lira (160Euros!) for 2 day rental - absolute scam.

Budget are an awful company. I hired a car with existing damage, I reported it to the Budget staff and they did not record it saying that any damage less that 2cm was fine. Sure enough when I returned the car they tried to charge me for that existing damage. You would expect to have a dialog, or a process, or customer services that answer email. Budget do not do this. The costs they created for this damage was multitudes above the actual costs of repair. The company has awful customer service. Do not use this company. I am now out of pocket for pre-existing damage to a car I rented from them. They admitted on Twitter that I had done everything to raise the existing damage with them before leaving the lot.

The reason I booked my car through Costco Travel is the low price this summer,but when we got to Miami Int'l airport,the Budget agent tried to let me pay extra money on upgrading the car,the insurance.I paid about $60 more amount than what I booked via costco Travel including the gas deposit. the guy said they will refund the balance of the deposit to me. After I return the car, I did not receive the invoice until I called the Budget and they never refund the balance of the gas deposit.It was a very bad experience with budget, never use Budget any more!!!

I now understand why it's called Budget. I rented my car from Dallas/Lovefield on August 20th. It was $100 cheaper from another company so I was excited but leary.... Budget was completely overwhelmed, overbooked and it was mess. There weren't enough vehicles, or took a long time to get a vehicle and certainly not their fault but there was a hole in the roof and it was hot. While I was happy with the make and model of the car, it was dirty, had a bug in the front passenger seat, and was not filled up. I mentioned it as I checked out and the lady wrote some notation not sure what it was. I called twice to speak with someone and they could only pull me up with the rental agreement but the automated service was not sufficient. Won't be renting from them again.
