Absolutely loved it, me and my wife went their and the waitress we had was nice, the atmosphere was great and of course the food was amazing.
We will defiantly go back there again, loved it.

I had an issue with my food, I ordered a Gambarini which cam with 5 gambas (prawns) basically spaghetti with tomato source. I contacted customer service and within minutes they sent me a £20 voucher. So far ok, I don't believe any investigation was done. Two weeks later I took my wife again and this time I ordered a meat pizza, I paid a extra £2 for the stretched version. Please note that you don't get any more for your money the cost is to pay for the chef to stretch the dough. The pizza had 3 slices of sausage, 5 tiny slices of pepperoni, and the pancetta was not existant.. the manager at the Red Lion (Norwich) was totally disinterested and inattentive although he was fully aware of our previous issues.
I contacted Bella Italia after my second visit but they can even bother to reply.
Are you thinking about going to an Italian restaurant, I will think twice about using Bella Itallia ,

Been eating at Bella Italia in Castleford Escape for many years now. It was our favourite place to go after going to the cinema there. And one of our favourite dishes was the tempura King Prawn starter, to be honest that starter was the main reason why we went there. After visiting today, we found out they no longer do that starter anymore. But now have replaced it, and mix it in with battered cod pieces.
I can honestly say its disgusting, don't know why they would change sure a popular starter and replace it with a horrid idea. The cod doesn't go with the prawns and the side dip is truly horrible. Now that my favourite starter has been removed and spoiled I doubt we will return to Bella Italia and will find a new Italian restaurant to eat at.

Fantastic food, with very attentive staff. I've only visited Bella Italia a few times, but would love to make it a regular stop.
Would definitely recommend.

We visited Gloucester Quays restaurant at 7PM on 21/2. Disappointing and underwhelming! My garlic prawns were served with the shell on...difficult to get out of the hot garlic butter to eat them with a knife and fork. I then used my fingers and when I asked for a " finger bowl" I was given an empty bowl and had to ask the young girl server to put some water in it! My risotto was only luke warm so I had to send it back to be heated up ( my husbands meal was fine) .
The waiter was pleasant and I am not criticising the quality of the meals but overall it was a disappointing meal.

Went in to the Intu Lakeside branch for a meal with my husband on 8th March 2019. Was seated very quickly, it went downhill from there. We waited so long for our server to come over we were considering leaving and going somewhere else.
The server seemed to be irritated that she had to take our order. The drinks arrived fairly quickly after that but my husbands drink was cloudy, we called the waitress, there was no apology just a "oh, you'll have to have a bottled one instead then"
The meal arrived not long after that, mine was ok, not the best steak I've had, should have stuck to the Marco Polo which has never been anything but lovely.
My husbands meal (ribs) looked and tasted frozen, he gave up and left most of it.
The waitress came over after finally attracting her attention, said are you done and as my husband said yes and started to tell her we weren't very happy, she grabbed the plates and walked off.
After waiting quite some time I gave up and asked for the bill, got ignored a bit more and took myself off to the till, our waitress had to be called over to sort it out.
Again absolutely no interest in dealing with us. At no point during the whole time we were there did she ask if everything was ok, if we wanted more drinks, nothing.
This is the first time I have ever eaten out and not left a tip. The service was absolutely appalling.
We've eaten here quite a lot over the years food has been hit and miss, more hit than miss, but the servers were always absolutely lovely until last night.
There are 2 other Italian restaurants on the boardwalk which will be getting our custom in the future.

Went to Bella Italia in covent garden London with two friends in January. The food portions were small. But the worst part is the restaurant was cold. It's cold as it was, being January. But the heating wasn't on. Bad environment for eating. Even the toilets were cold and I could see steam from my breath. But also the hot water tap was cold as well as the air hand dryer. We ended up sitting with our jackets back on. And the food was overpriced for what it is. A Bolognese, lasagna and pasta dish with a bottle of wine come to £90.

My partner and myself looked forward to a nice meal at Bella Italia in the intu Eldon Square Newcastle situated close to Greys monument. It was her birthday treat and we splashed out on something good. Oh dear, what we got was a large bill for food that was not worth more than a fiver. I ordered an American burger with fries for myself. When it arrived the meat when I found it was cremated, the burnt taste remained with me all day. The bun was of poor cheap quality, salad and cheese was sparse. The accompanying French fries were hard as if they had been cooked more than once. Probably worth about ONE pound given that I recently bought a burger from a roadside van for £2.70p and it was well cooked, hot and very tasty far superior by miles. Bella Italia charged me over £12.00 for a piece of something I would probably not have given it to my dog. My partner ordered a pasta dish. Nothing special when it arrived, very little sauce, looked a bit sad as if it had been hanging around for a while. That was another £12 or so. The small bottle of beer I had was extortionately overpriced. When we settled up and left we agreed that we will never eat at Bella Italia again, it was a complete rip-off and a total disappointment !!

The Strand branch. No air con on really hot day, had to ask 4 times for water,.white wine warm bottle, had to ask 4 times for wine cooler which consisted of a metal vase with 4 ice cubes in. Starter was absolutely tasteless, 4/6 mains were cool and plates cold, very slow service all round and the place wasn't even half full!
Complained 2 head office who didnt even offer a voucher as goodwill gesture yet we spent £165 there!

Seems to be run by accountants rather than anyone interested in food. Too many promotions around London and not enough effort in keeping up stocks so dishes are often not on. Staff are fighting a losing battle...
