I ordered a book from them, 15 days went by and it had not arrived, so I decided to contact them via online chat. I explained to the rep that my package was never delivered, they confirmed that according to their records it was shipped and may have been lost in transit. The representative promptly offered to replace my item at no charge. I appreciated their flexibility and I'm very happy with the experience. I will continue to order from them for years to come

Am so disappointed,I ordered a book 23rd September and was to be delivered on 27th September, later on the message was sent stating 10th October and when I called the customer service was very rude and also said on 15th October and I can't even find my order on line ,these people are scam stay away

I had a problem changing a credit card on an order and the four people I spoke to didn’t fix it. This is the first time this happens, do not buy from this site, try eBay or Amazon. They are way better than this useless site.

I placed an order and realized that the shipping was way too high. I then went to immediately cancel it (not even 5 minutes) and for no given reason said that "the order can not be cancelled". This corporation brings in 3.5 billion a year and can not provide order cancellation for their overpriced books or shipping--guess it makes sense as to why they have so much money. Greedy just like the rest of them, will never buy anything here again.

Ordered a textbook for my daughter, 8 days before college started, thinking she would receive it in time. The website said it ships "usually" in 1-2 days. It's now been a week, the book isn't here, B&N doesn't have any info, other than it "shipped" so they can't return my money, and that it will be here in another 18 days. I tried to get tracking info, but they don't have it, all they could do was give me an e-mail address that sent a reply "we no recieved order" (sic). After numerous calls I finally got a supervisor, she told me the book was in NC (supposed to ship from TX), and she didn't know the name of the company that shipped it. Stay away from this website, they are clueless.

Utterly horrifying customer service. An account was opened fraudulently in my name on August 12th, it’s now August 28th. The account is still open after numerous interactions with their “chat” which is like speaking to a robot half the time (even when you get past the automatic service).
I have actually been “promised” the account will be deleted three times and it’s still live! I emailed their customer service and over 72 hours later, no response. I’m disgusted.

Very unprofessional! I ordered two novels for a student with whom I was scheduled to work. I paid with PayPal and received notification the payment went through. The delivery date was the day before my appointment with the student, so it was supposed to work out perfectly. When the books never arrived, I checked my email and there was one from Barnes and Noble saying only, "We're sorry, but your order did not pass our order verification process and we are unable to fulfill your order." What? I received an email from PayPal and have NEVER had trouble verifying my account in over 15 years.

Few days ago I have placed an order online for 2 books with express delivery to Indonesia. I have pay with my credit card. But right after my order, I received an automatic email from B&N stated that my order is cancel because they are not able to proceed the payment with my credit card. But now I discover on my bank statement that this operation has been validated since the beginning and the amount for this operation is clearly stated on by Bank Statement as Debit ! So B&N refused to send the 2 books but proceed the payment ! What's going on ? It is totally illegal... I had contact them by email and they do not respond. I am really despair regarding this kind of bad attitude. By the way B&N even cancel my registration as customer that's mean I have no more access to my account.

Book arrived completely tattered and damaged. Barnes & Noble failed to bubble wrap or cellophane wrap my item. Completely unacceptable. It looked like it had come out the washing machine.
To make matters worse, theres no way to email customer service!!

Just had a fraudulent account created in my name, the customer service was not helpful and “assumed” I had fraud on my account even when I hadn’t told them, made the whole experience very worrying. I have changed password and got rid of all personal info but still don’t trust them. How would they know the account was fraudulent before I told them....??

I preordered a product in Feb as a guest but my card expired before the product came out. When I was unable to update the info or cancel the order, I reasonably assumed they would simply cancel it themselves without sending it to me. They sent it and then started emailing me about payment. After I went through the phone tree to no avail and then their text service ignored my problem to direct me back to the phone tree and I had to specifically ask for a way to contact an actual person, I just had to pay for a product before I could return it even though by any good business practice I shouldn't have received it in the first place!
I would not recommend ordering online from them ever and they will certainly never get my business again.

I will never order another book from Barnes and Noble. Ordered my book on 6/29 and it was supposed to be delivered today due to tracking information. Called Barnes and Noble management was very rude to me like I was bothering them by calling them. You have lost a customer. Will not order from this company ever again.

First time and Last Time customer due to Terrible online customer service. Placed order #4076676680 online yesterday 03-17-2019 trying to take advantage of their 17% off St. Patrick's promotion and their sale on POPs 3x$20 since my kids collect them. I added several only 1 of each (no repeats), used PayPal to check out and shortly after received email confirmation that transaction went through... all good, at least that's what I thought. Several hours later received a secondary very vague and generic email essentially cancelling my order stating "We're sorry, but your order did not pass our order verification process and we are unable to fulfill your order. We assure you that you were not charged for any portion of this order"
Did not pass verification? I have been a verified PayPal customer for over 15 years, not once has my PayPal payments been declined with any online retailers and I have made purchases well over 20 times the total amount of this cancelled order. The only explanation I can assume would be Barnes and Noble not wanting to honor their own promotional discount over the sale, however if there were restrictions of any sort the cart shouldn't have allowed me to place the order in the first place.
Wish I could rate zero stars for having such poor online service and for not honoring sales/discount prices. I wonder if this could actually be a law suit somewhere in there for false advertisement since I was not provided with a valid reason for cancelling my order.
For those who are reading reviews to become Barnes and Noble's customers online for the first time, simple evidence that should deter you from considering buying anything from this retailer... not one single reply on their negative reviews to provide a shred of good faith customer service. That speaks volumes indicating Barnes and Nobles does not care at all about potential or current costumers. No worries Barnes and Nobles I will be celebrating the day I read on the news that your company has gone belly up... and it's a matter of time with this type of service you provide.

Trustworthy website if you want to buy any book. The store itself boasts a very comfortable atmosphere, with vintage bookstore/café vibes. The café there is also a great, quite place to get work done, in fact, sometimes my friends and I go there to study. 10/10 would recommend.

I ordered a book off of Barnes and nobles site it was listed and shipping was supposed to be ten days almost a month later still no book called Barnes and noble they said they could not do any thing about it because it was from one of their providers I was buying this book for a birthday gift for my nephew if I had known it was going to take this long I could have ordered it from the bookstore downtown and got it in half the time

I usually enjoy the selection at Barnes and Noble. I recently stopped in and looked for my latest addiction cure, a Book called A Contest With the Night By Lee Wright. Sadly, they do not carry it because the publisher is too small. They did allow me to order it but at double the cost that Amazon is offering it. I have been anticipating this book coming out and was disappointed that I could not get it in the store. Instant gratification is why I still shop at brick and mortar stores.
