If you're a 1st time author who has limited funds they are the best of a bad situation. No one there read my book they repeatedly got the title of my book wrong, screwed up the cover last minute and just so so much headaches.
On the plus side they did fix their mistakes after repeatedly pointing it out. SO if you have limited funds they're a good small step but to me at least it seemed like alot of their employees need to step it up a notch professionally. They largely seemed new to almost every step of development.

AuthorHouse makes it SO easy to self-publish, guiding you every step of the way in a logical, thoughtful, helpful manner. And their design team is A-One. They really get it with regard to an author's vision and how to make the cover art reflect the vibe and content of the book. I've just published my second book with AH and am planning two more behind that which I would like them to handle.

Pushy marketing team left me feeling like I choose the wrong publisher. Called and left a message for urgent return Call. Once returned they were selling me expensive advertising. Keep trying to push for it with every no the price got lower. Very deceitful! Marketing team sounded like high pressure sales team!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with AuthorHouse. From start to finish, every step of the publishing process was handled promptly and competently by staff members. It was a delight to work with this organization, and I would recommend it highly to anyone who might be considering writing a book.

My experience of AuthorHouse to date was excellent. The staff were very helpful, particularly Buddy professionalism and generosity in helping to resolve any issues relating to the publication of my book was equal to none. I also like to thank Leigh and Michael for their support to mention a few. Generally, the publication of the book was well executed from the beginning to the end.

Communication was consistent, but not always the most effective. Sometimes being handed off between different representatives required repetition of my objectives, requirements, and plans.
Perhaps a clearer process map would help, so I would know where the different people and roles that contacted me fit in. There was a bit of confusion at the end with the final handoff from development to printing. I imagine that the process I went through was a bit convoluted due to some early decisions and the impact of COVID-19.

I had initially paid a down payment for services from this company, to edit and publish my book, with an understanding that I could cancel my agreement with this company up until June, which I was told by an Account Specialist. They send me payment agreements and documentation that I never signed. Because after a few days and doing some research I decided to go another route with my book.
Since then, I have made numerous calls with my agent, who told me to take some time to think about it and said I could cancel as far out as June. I made a decision after a month that I really was no longer interested in the services and since then have not been able to cancel my order. I still have not signed any paperwork, or my manuscript, nor was I refunded my down payment.
They do not have an adequate refund service or office I can connect to and they keep referring me to the original officer who signed me up that never seems to return my calls. I have attempted to cancel several times, they have not provided me with any services, and have still not received a notice of cancellation or refund of my down payment and they are continuing to take the remaining balance out of my account.

I have a good cover because I fought for editing work, the inside of the book was trashed by the editing work they did. Worth half the money I paid easy. The staff was difficult to work with unless you are giving them money.

Buddy Dow was the best person there was to work with. He was patient, understanding, kind, and he went above and beyond the call of duty. I always didn't have the best experience with author house but Buddy made my experience great he was the only one who could help me, after I was transferred many times over. He was not only an awesome employee. He showed great character.

The beginning of the experience with AuthorHouse was good but as time went on efforts with communication on their part became completely unacceptable overall. I could only get responses from one very rarely two representatives. It doesn't hate what's going on, keep in touch with the customers, they have paid their money to receive a service! Another thing is that when I received my books, there were various mistakes, grammatical too. Very poor job with website design, very basic and unacceptable , I couldn't even use it

I wouldn't do that if I were you. They are money hungry and won't advertise your book. There is also no "acknowledgment" page or "about the author" format. You have to make your own too. They fail to give me my royalties because I didn't want to pay $700 out of pocket. And they will ignore your messages. Unprofessional! I want to make money, not take my money. But go ahead if you have money to burn and bad reviews on your book.
