I opened an e-mail which I thought was from a friend. Instead my computer blocked with voice saying to call a number in order it could be fixed and if not they would be forced to shut down the computer. I realized it was a fraud and called Microsoft which fixed the problem. The next day a call saying they were calling back to see how my computer was working. I told them fine, but I had had the problem yesterday. They said I had worked with a fraudulent company and they were the legitimist Microsoft company. As I worked with them I had a strong feeling they were a fraud. Finally they said they had to install firewalls to prevent any fraud again. This would be $300.00. They would not take a credit care # as they were legitimate. I was to send a post dated, 06-15-16, check for the $300. to a Foxboro, MA address. I indicated I agreed but then recontacted Microsoft and confirmed they were frauds.
