Ordered items online for in store pickup. Items were listed in stock at my store. Ordered canceled with no explanation. Guess it's back to AMAZON.

I like Academy. They have pretty good sales and shop promptly. Their name brand clothes are not the best quality, so the fit is not always consistent, hence the 4 stars instead of 5, but overall an excellent merchant.

A new Academy Sports store opened up not far from me. We went in and bought sones shoes for my son. He wore them about a week before there was a big hole in the toe. I took the shoes in the box, and the receipt to the customer service desk. They said I could either get a full refund, or exchange the shoes. Wow! The lady was very friendly through the whole exchange. I had read other reviews that claimed bad service from different Academy stores, so I was pleasantly surprised when I was treated so well. I will continue shopping there! Great store and service !

I changed this from 2star to a 4star because the last few times ordered I did receive a tracking number... And, service for issues related..Yay! Keep it up!

Academy Sports has been reliably affordable when I've comparison shopped. After placing several online orders, they've never failed to ship promptly, and provide accurate shipping updates. They also offer a price-match policy, and happily honor it with updated evidence of competitor prices.

Online orders and so called offering of Customer Service LOL 😝Their is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I had my large numerous orders last year so messed up from them it took almost 4 months after Christmas to get it straight. Spoiling my sons Christmas and gifts among our faith in them. However, stupid me and Mother’s love for kids attempting again in forgiveness and going for kids Xmas shopping early. MESSED UP AGAIN! Never shipped, processed payments, then they cancelled items on me etc. Called NUMEROUS times. Either never answered after on hold 40 plus minutes then, hour etc or when got someone they hung up or told me to go online. NO RESPONSE from LIVE CHAT and no Emails Back. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE/ NO MORE CUSTOMER.😠😱🤔

I bought my granddaughters school uniform polo style shirts. I have bought uniform shirts from different online vendors and in stores. Academy was buy far the best constructed, best material shirt I ever bought from anywhere. I can wash them and put them in the dryer they come out looking soft , wrinkle free and still looking brand new. I both every color they had. The price for the shirts were the best price I ever found anywhere. They were shipped quickly and neatly. I will MOST CERTAINLY BUY THEM AGAIN WHEN ACADEMY GETS THEM IN STOCK AGAIN. i advise anyone who has school age children who are required to wear a uniform to look no further. Buy your school uniforms here. You can't go wrong

Terrible store now in my opinion. They no longer carry name brand golf merchandise. Recently at a Smyrna tn store I asked for a price on the last name brand set of irons they had that had been there for Over a year and out of the box, they quoted 299. When I asked if they could do better the manager said they were clearanced at that price and they couldn’t change clearance prices. 1st they were 299 brand new 2nd I called corporate and after an hour wait they explained that the price was at the discretion of the store since the item had long been out of their system. In my opinion 2nd rate store with second rate merchandise and pitiful customer service. Can you give less than 1star?

The stores are clean, bright, and the staff is helpful. They could have more help around the store to help the customers. The prices are still too high on goods, although they do have a price match on the same item from another store. However, the customer has to find the item on-line to get the price match. We couldn't find it and did not get the price match on our item. The other store had the item at the lower price by 33% just not on the website. In the end the store did not honor the lower price. In this case the other store should get the business.

O'Rageous it's brand of company Academy.
I bought a O'Rageous sun hat from natural straw for $9.99. The hat has a bad quality, a straw began to broke so fast. I wrote to the company, and they give me about $5 off.
But be carefully to buy items here, most has not so good quality, need to detail check.
I didn't receive a sandals from my order, and the customer service refused to help or send the sandals again.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. It was supposed to be a really special gift. While ordering it, I talked to someone via the online chat to ask about sizes since there were none available. I was told it was it was a one size fits all. I decided that it would be ok since he's a pretty average size. I made it clear it was for my husband. So I ordered it. It came in quicker than expected which is fantastic. However, and see picture below, it was for a small child. It might have fit a three year old. I wasn't mad at all, I called customer service figuring there was just a mix up. It took her 10 minutes before I asked her if she wanted my order number. She just kept repeating that it just says one size fits all, that she doesn't know what she wants from me. I finally ask for a manager. She told me she would have to call them on the manager line, and that it would be a wait. I said that it was fine. I was on hold for one hour. She would pick up every 20 minutes to make sure I still wanted to wait but phrasing it in a way that seemed like she was just seeing when I would tap and give up. I finally asked her after an hour if there was a manager in the office I could speak to. She told me that there wasn't one I could talk to and that I would have to continue waiting. I agreed. After the hour I found another number that I thought would connect me to someone else so I hung up. Not a minute after she calls me back saying that she spoke to the manager and asked if I ordered the one with the yellow or white draw strings because one of them is a child's size and the other is an adults. I explained, again, that I had gotten the black and red one with red draw strings and she responded with 'so it is the one with the yellow or white draw strings '. This went back and forth for a minute and I asked to speak to that manager she had just spoken to and she stated that she was trying to connect me but I hung up so I'll have a very long wait again. I told her that I'm losing my patience and that I will call back tomorrow. I was kind and polite the entire time and didn't want to start yelling so I called back two days later and decided I wanted a refund instead. Which they eventually gave me after not being willing to discuss the option of exchanging or explaining to me why it was a child's size when it said nothing about being a juniors or even pictured as such. I'm not normally one to complain about anything. I just wanted the right gi that can be used for my husband as this would've been perfect for him. I'm really disappointed that we won't be getting it and I won't be doing business with this company again.
I went to post this review as well on their site and they wouldn't post it. No apology or anything, just am email saying it didn't meet guidelines. That product has zero reviews on it, and now I know why. Below is a link to the product.
The absolute WORST online merchant I have EVER dealt with! I make over 90% of my non-food purchases online and have NEVER seen such DECEITFUL practices.
BEWARE! Here's the trick Academy.com employs regarding item stock status:
*** In Stock Online: Usually leaves warehouse in 1-2 business days.
These items Academy.com actually DOES have in stock and will ship quickly.
*** In Stock Online: This item may ship from a different location and therefore is only eligible for ground shipping.
These items Academy.com DOES NOT have in stock. These items are probably drop shipped from the manufacturer.
To my chagrin, I ordered an item with the later stock status. The manufacturer is out of stock with no estimated delivery date. Yet, Academy.com STILL lists this item as IN STOCK.
HERE'S THE ABSURD PART: Academy.com REFUSES to cancel the order!
Reputable online merchants would never falsely represent their inventory. And if there were for some reason a shortage, they would immediately provide an option to cancel.
My order confirmation promised delivery within 3-5 business days. Now I am in limbo. No delivery in sight. And Academy.com renews the pending authorization on my credit card every time it expires, reducing available credit.
My advice: NEVER, EVER ORDER FROM ACADEMY.COM! You have been warned...

I LOVE this store! It's like the Wal-Mart for outdoors and clothing. If you are an outdoors, fisher, or sportsman/woman, you need nowhere else to look but Academy for equipment, clothing and gear. Academy has everything you could want then some.
With Wal-Mart, Academy and Amazon.com, I don't have to go anywhere else to buy anything I want or need!
