While my husbent was on Internet a voice came on telling him to call 1800-485-6316. He did. With very heavy Indan accent this person told him that our computer has a virus and we needed to instol firewall . That our computer needs anti virus protection . My husbent let him go on our computer. He charged $399.99 on our credit card. This took place on 09-12-2015.
Second time took plase on 07-28- 2016. James Carter convinced my husbent to let him on the computer because our network was being hacked by people from Nigeria. He Instoled Sonic wall. He then asked him to mail him a check for $1699.00. This check was to be made out to Expert Technologies LLC. The mailing address to them is
17701 188th Ave Se, Suite #338, Renton Wa 98055. We did not mail him the check. We could hear them scamming other people in the background. We want to stop this scamming.

This company places popup ads on websites informing their victims that they have a virus, the victim calls Zavions and they talk their victim through the steps needed to enable this fake company to remote control the victims computer. After establishing remote connection the fake and self titled 'Microsoft Certified Technicians' run what the victims see as a scan (by bringing up Command and running the tree ( dir /s ) command) as well as other ways such as showing the victim 'Event Viewer' (which contains computer logs and errors (which are all normal to have) they state the customer has infections such as 'KoobFace' all these tactics scare their victims into buying fake Tech support packages that start from $199.99 and go up to around a $1k. If this is not paid or even if it is paid the technician normally places a "Syskey" on the victims computer then closes their pc down, this in turn locks the victim out of their computer (which they will have to reinstall windows or restore to an earlier restoration point). They expect the victims to enter their credit card details and personal details on Notepad too, which is very insecure.
