I felt so supported my ENTIRE time at WGU. I recommend the school to anyone and everyone looking at going to college.

WGU allowed me to achieve my goal of obtaining a 4 year degree (BSIT) in a very reasonable amount of time; the flexibility and self-paced structure allowed me to accelerate. I was also able to accumulate industry recognized certifications. I am very proud to be an Alumni of this institution!

My experience at WGU was very positive. I received a great deal of support from my program mentor and the course instructors were knowledgeable and experienced. The program is self-paced but there is substantial pressure to progress quickly, so students should be aware they'll need self-discipline to complete the program. There are times when access to instructors is limited, as their calendars fill up & the first available appointment may be 1-2 weeks out. So there were a few instances when it felt like "self learning". Tutoring is offered for free though, so outside help is available if you reach out. Some courses like Intermediate Accounting II and Taxation II, are difficult to complete in 6 weeks. I would have liked to see more time allotted to the second half of Intermediate Accounting in particular, as I didn't think 6 weeks was enough time to digest the amount & complexity of material. Overall, though I'm glad I attended WGU and I'm grateful for the experience because overall, I believe it gave me a very solid foundation in accounting.

User friendly program that allows you to work at your own pace once minimum credits per semester are completed.

WGU allows you to work at your pace, as fast or as slow as you'd like. The flexibility is second to none. I highly recommend WGU.

Terrible. Job skills are not nearly developed enough to meet minimum entry level jobs. I am looking at 6-12 months of additional training/prep. Career department has no insights into specific career search beyond resume formatting.

I absolutely loved my experience at WGU! The ease of access across all forms of technology made accessing my coursework a breeze. I was challenged, and supported by my course and program mentors. The online community of students strengthened my involvement and even helped during study times!

I enjoyed my time with WGU as much as anyone can enjoy working full time while obtaining a degree full time. A recent requirement of students having to login to the website every two weeks or red flags get raised was ridiculous, but otherwise the format of the school fit my schedule.

It worked great with my budget and my schedule. I was able to advance my classes quickly!

My experience with WGU was an overall great one. The only issue I had was with evaluators needing you to break things down to its simplest form, which I thought was mediocre for a graduate program. I would definitely recommend this school.

As an experienced Healthcare Administrator with more than 12 years of experience, I was searching for an academic environment that would both provide me a challenge, and the flexibility to truly complete when it was convenient for my life. I chose WGU for both, as well as the financial ROI, regardless of the time it would have taken me to complete the program (it can be done in 6-24 months) it was significantly more cost effective than other accredited programs I had researched. I had several peers that had already completed their MBA thru WGU, so I was confident in their positive experiences.
The MBA-Healthcare Management was both challenging and comprehensive. I was immediately able to utilize my professional experience towards my courses, as well as the other way around and using my courses immediately to enhance my professional skill set.
I was very structured in my studies, and it was important to me to learn and retain the content, and I dedicated about 20 hours / week minimum to my studies. I was able to complete my degree in 1 term, but I don't credit that to WGU, they laid the parameters for me to be successful, but I absolutely put in the sacrifice and hard work to do so. I'm proud of of my degree, and my experience with WGU.
I would not suggest WGU (or any online program) for everyone - I caution readers/potential students thinking "I can earn my degree in just 6 months" - as there are so many factors in each individual students journey that make them successful. You need to be committed and driven, as the traditional setting of accountability isn't there - in the online format - accountability is 100% on the student (which I loved & thrived in).
Set your expectations to align with your goals & experience (not anyone else), and you'll do great!

Overall, the program was a positive experience. My mentor was great when on the phone, but didn’t respond to emails. Not a huge deal but frustrating at times. Also, I found there to be a lack of cohesiveness among mentors as a whole, what one does the others should do similar. I would definitely recommend the program and will likely look at my Masters at WGU as well.

My journey with Western Governors University to receive my Master in Health Leadership degree was amazing. I had great support from my mentor, she was enthusiastic, encouraging and cared about my success. The professors are the most professional, engaged and compassionate I've ever worked with at any institution. They are truly professionals who are passionate about their field of study, are engaged in teaching and want to help you succeed. I would highly recommend this University for any working student as an educational experience that enhances your real life experience in the field and contributes to a well rounded professional.

WGU is a fantastic educational institution for full-time working students or parents. It's an excellent and affordable way to earn a degree for anyone really. The program allowed me a stress-free means of learning great material at my own pace. It was challenging enough to induce excitement at all levels. I wasn't bored in any of my classes. My mentor was very helpful and kept me motivated throughout the program and support was always readily available when needed. Wait times were typically more than a day to speak with class instructors, sometimes several days. That was the only negative. The instructors, however, were excellent. I always received the best instructions/knowledge and was left motivated after every conversation with an instructor. The training materials/resources, the library, and access to external learning resources were all exceptional. I had an amazing experience earning my degree and was fully supported from start to finish. I'm a permanent fan of WGU.

I learned a lot, at my own pace and with great support. Instructors and mentors were very responsive and helpful. I appreciated a writing excellence award that honored my effort. Finally, I was able to finish in one term and get an immediate raise as a result! I’ve already referred two colleagues who are starting a degree and loving it too!

My MBA studies at WGU Tennessee have given me a professional competence which I did not have before. The quality of the subject matter and modes of presentation allowed me greater confidence in dealing with financial matters. My Program Mentor, Carolyn Warsco, was key for my success.

I had a pretty good experience at WGU, I'm certainly glad I was able to complete my degree! There were annoying things that happened, like miscommunications and having to endure and complete coursework that I already knew (that was particularly frustrating since WGU likes to taut that you can test out of courses or use your experience to speed along). But most courses were interesting, enlightening, beneficial, and worthwhile. And, according to many of my friends that are completing, or have completed, their degrees at other online universities it turns out there are pretty annoying things everywhere. Other positives here would be that I felt supported, it was affordable, the technology worked well and was easy to use, lots of resources, and clear instructions and guidance. I would definitely recommend this school and I am so glad I was able to complete a long held goal.

I love WGU. I am so glad I found this school and now encourages my friends & peers to further their education at WGU. I decided to get my BSN here because of cost, time, and the fact that I can accelerate on my own pace. I love that I have a mentor who helped me be accountable to finish on time and just be someone I can share my thoughts, shortcomings, and success!!!
