Never again will I take out a contract with Vodafone. I was a loyal customer for 2 years before taking out another 2 year contract. I organised my contract over live chat which was easy and I confirmed several times that I was on the correct tariff. Following day I was supposed to receive a text to register my Spotify (which is included in the contact) I didnt and on contacting vodafone they alerted me I was put on the wrong tarrif. Getting this swap was no hassel but moments after my phone signal stopped working I had to get a new handset to resolve this issue. When i contacted vodafone to be compensated I was promised 2GB free data. A charge of £10 appeared on my account. For the last 3/4 weeks I have been trying to have this charge removed. I sent a formal complaint and when speaking to complaints department they said they had no record of this until i asked them to check the conversations. They said they cannot add on extra free data and this should never have been agreed. They are beyond sneaky!! I asked to have my upfront cost refunded with 10% discount on my monthly bill. As I am already on a 15% workforce discount they could not perform this. After challenging this profusely the highest value of compensation they can offer is £40!! Please avoid this company as loyal customer does not matter to them. I will be leaving immediately if I have further issues and after my term is up ill be moving provider. Utterly disgraceful!

Vodafone customer for several years. My home broadband and phone is with them. I'm in hospital for an emergency operation and so I cannot benefit from using my home WiFi. Hence my data is going pretty quick (15gb in 2 days since being here). Hospital WiFi is just too slow and ridiculously expensive. So I'm stuck using my phone data really. I contacted Vodafone to add more data for this month only, and it's £20 for 15gb. I might be in hospital another week, meaning I could use 3 of these in my time here. Somethings not right! My sim only deal with them costs £17 a month and for that I get unlimited text, calls and 20gb data. Why charge so much for another 15gb? Particularly knowing my circumstance and why I need the additional data.

First time I took out a contract they sent a broken phone. Took 8 hours on the phone over two days before they sent a new one. THIS TIME I have a good new phone but all my calls are RESTRICTED and I have spent 4 days speaking to people who don't really speak English, lost out on business as I can't reply to potential customers AND THEY STILL HAVENT FIXED IT. NO team or manager can, none of them. Lost out on £1000s as I should of been working but instead was worrying about missing customers do spent a total of 6 days of two years. DO NOT USE VODAFONE

Your website does not work! The secure checkout fails every time!
I tried again to purchase a pay as you go Samsung Galaxy a20e, with a top up bundle, and everything goes brilliantly until the payment stage, where after putting in all my bank details, the secure checkout fails. So now I don't know if I've bought the phone or not. My credit card has a payment pending, but I've no confirmation email from Vodafone. Get it sorted please!

My upgrade time came and I purchased a phone from Vodafone. I paid for the next day delivery and no one showed up.
I contacted Vodafone customer services, I have been told that my handset just delayed and will receive it in 24 hrs. No one showed up!
I contacted Customer services again, this time I have been informed I can go and collect it from a certain shop. I drive to a shopping center, paid for parking, waited half an hour in the queue and guess what. The store don't know anything about the order, there are no notes on my account. They offered me to cancel my online order and buy another line form that store. I said I already paid for it and I can't do that. They said, I have 30 days cancellation , simply cancel it, buy it from the shop... Guys! Don't push the shops for sales targets. They do stupid stuff to reach there!
Again on the customer services on the phone. The gentleman said I should wait until tomorrow by 1 pm and my phone will be delivered. I waited until 1pm like a fool. And no one showed up.
Again on the phone with customer services, this time they told me that I have to wait three days until they receive the item back so they can send another one... When I track the order I noticed that they recall the phone before even they try to deliver it to me. They knew it and they didn't tell me.Just kept me waiting and wasted hours from my life. They still don't know when it's gonna be delivered.
You can have problem with DPD and I don't even have to know about that. You must solve it internally. I am a customer not a shareholder of Vodafone! No one telling my why they recalled the phone back before I any delivery attempt? No one knows whats happening. Only thing I get from them, they must receive the phone back to send me another... That is not MY PROBLEM!
I paid for a phone and they intentionally didn't send it to me (yes its written on DPD's website that you recalled the package). I wasted more than 8 hours on the phone in total. I wasted money, got angry, get upset...
Almost five years with Vodafone RED, with three lines in the same household, paid thousand of pounds and they treated me like I am a beggar... You just lost a loyal customer...

I’ve been with Vodafone for 5+ years, and have been fairly happy with the network service and coverage. However, I have almost always been let down whenever I have had to interact with their customer service team.
I have frequently been given inaccurate information, not had promises followed through, had messages left unanswered, and have been refused an email address so that I could email a complaint (I later found a complaints link myself on their website).
For ease, I’ve stayed with Vodafone for another upgrade, but plan to leave after my new 2 year contract comes to an end.
If quality service is important, Vodafone is not for you.

What have you done with app!!! It’s useless looks more like a web page it’s not easier to navigate as you say it is and it’s glitchy and slow, the old app was 10 times better easier to navigate and to understand, I’ve deleted it until you bring back old version again, it’s things like this that people are moving away from Vodafone I’m one of them when my contract is up I will be leaving and going to a much more and better mobile provider and as for customer service it’s crap you always get someone who is not English and you can hardly understand.

1.5 hours to get my "loyalty" deal
My 12 month contract was about to end so contacted vodafone through online chat to see what deal they would offer to renew sim only 500mb data, 500 minutes, unlimited texts. Advisors were ok but abysmal deals offered. After asking how to get a PAC code I was suddenly offered by the first advisor if I'd like to speak to the "Save" team. Save team offered a deal that would actually cost more if I added a £10 friend's employer discount!?!? Not sure who does the sums in that department!! When I said that other providers could offer better deals for less money and more data the advisor said he couldn't understand how "a piggyback network like (insert other networks here! ;o) are offering such cheaper deals, there must be a reason behind it" and "Even if you miss a single and important call, it may affect you." (using the piggyback network) I don't think these tactics should be used on customers, any reader of this review agree?! After saying I might be moving to another network I was asked if I'd like to be passed to the "Retentions Team" and after much faffing about and me being a "loyal" customer the retentions advisor would speak to the manager to see if I could get a loyalty discount which I accepted but still not sure if I'll stay with them as I have a 14 day cooling off period and can leave with no charges during this time, so if I see a better deal I'm off!!
I think vodafone use extreme delaying tactics as a way of making things more difficult, hoping customers will lose patience and accept the non fantastic deal being offered. Took 1.5 hours to get my loyalty deal, after being passed from the first advisor to save team advisor and then to customer retention's advisor. Poor service from vodafone.

Absolute joke. They will take every penny they can of you. I've had a sim only contract for years, been on the last price plan for nearly 2. All of a sudden, it doubled in price. £40 for 18 gig data and unlimited minutes and texts. You can get a really nice phone paying this price monthly. Vodafone claimed in the small print of my contract it says there is discount applied. Cancelled my contract with them to find out I have to pay for another 30 days. Absolutely disgusted. £120 for 2 months of 18G, unlimited texts and minutes and to cancel. Customer service is horrendous!

Oh dear Vodafone. Reading through your mainly awful reviews I can’t see one you’ve responded to... so I guess this will fall on deaf ears.
Something went wrong/glitch where I was charged £20 for data I didn’t use. My phone was on stand by and no other devices tethering. Within minutes of each other while my back was turned I received 4 texts saying I had gone over my data by increments of 250mb... £20 pounds billed.
This happened at home with Wi-Fi connected and data assist turned off. Phone on stand by while I was watching TV.
Second time it’s happened.
First time made promises about resolution... Voda lost recorded conversation.
Second time met with spoilt brat on ‘help’ line who was beyond obnoxious.

So I just tried to go on the vodafone app to try and set an expenditure limit to try and prevent having credit stolen from those SMS criminals who can charge you £4.50 for RECEIVING an SMS WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT... The app asks me to turn on mobile data for the first time I use it, but they fail to warn you that turning on mobile data costs TWO POUNDS. So even after losing £2 for NOTHING, their useless app doesn't even work still because it says I'm using a VPN even though their guide proves I'm not using a VPN.

If you have a choice of anyone else then please use them, Vodafone customer service is one of the worst I have had the misfortune of dealing with, to get a tariff changed they missold me a deal, failed to correct it and kept telling me things would be sorted, it took me 25 tries at contacting them and complaining over 3 weeks to get what I needed. All I wanted was to change my plan, to do this they made choice after choice that was wrong, promised me all the time they would sort out and didn't, ended up having to have account and phone turned completely off connection and all just to be able to place an order. Seems only one person in call centre has a clue whats going on or how to fix things and you probably wont get them, they have standard scripts all the time that mean nothing. And end of the day after 25 times contacting them over 40 plus hours what do I get, a sorry and a fiver... a complete joke.

Terrible process to get anything done with Vodafone. Takes far too long and you get bounced between 4+ support members. Transferring a number from Vodafone to VOXI takes 2 days, with no phone service during. Exhausting. Don't recommend

I was sold additional number and the sell was based on false information, vodafone agreed to cancel straight after but failed to do so for months despite literally hours on chats and the phone with them. Still charging me for second number which i didn't even activate.
Notified Ofcom already and you all should too.

An argumentative lady from the Vodafone switching team once said (about me): “the trouble with people is that they want everything yesterday and they want it for free” - but actually I just want working broadband.
Here’s a short(er) guide of what might happen when you order Vodafone broadband with anytime calls and call divert, with a free Amazon Echo - based on personal experience.
- They will send you a Vodafone router days before your switch date, because everything is normal… right?
- On the day you’re expecting new broadband, you still have your old broadband but a new Vodafone landline (minus call divert or anytime calls).
- They tell you this was because your broadband order was cancelled the day after placing it, and will take 12 days to re-order.
- Don't panic. Call back later they’ll then tell you there’s been a mistake; you’re not showing on the system but everything is fine - your internet will start at midnight.
- At midnight your internet won’t be working but if you give the tech team a call you can be repeatedly told it definitely is working
- By 6pm you will have working internet (as well as a charge of £15.99 from your old provider for switching from them a day into a new month).
- In order to receive business calls to your mobile you’ll need call divert. For this, you will be told to buy a landline telephone and follow their instructions in order to turn call divert on, as it isn’t possible for the Vodafone team to do it for you.
- The next day you may buy a landline telephone but after following the divert instructions discover that ‘the service isn’t available’.
- You will then be told by the tech team that call divert must be switched on by them but it can take up to 48 hours.
- 48 hours later you will be told by the same team that it may take another 24 hours.
- Another 24 hours later you will be told by the complaints team it will be done right-away.
- 1 minute later it will be working.
- You will then enjoy three days of internet and business calls before your internet and telephone line is mistakenly terminated, and you're now without internet or a telephone line.
- Don’t worry, there is a solution! Breathe. All you have to do is re-order Vodafone broadband and telephone, and wait 14 days for your services to be restored.
- To do this you will need to speak to the switch team who will then offer you a deal worse than the one they mistakenly cancelled.
- You will be told that you will no longer be receiving a free Amazon Echo as it was a Vodafone limited time offer - the time for which has now passed.
- When discussing your options with other broadband providers you will be kindly warned against using alternative services that offer sign-up rewards as other services can’t be trusted and you may never receive your reward.
- By day 15, you’re without internet and draining every last byte of data from your mobile contract to update every trace of your business on the internet with a new temporary contact number, and looking for a new internet provider.
- The optimist in you recognises that such levels of incompetence from so many people means there's probably still a chance of your free Amazon Echo arriving any day now.
(TLDR; never ever order Vodafone broadband).

Contacted Vodafone again on 01.08.2019 by lodging a complaint onto their website. Received an email on the same day with a reference number.
On the 02.08.2019, I got a missed call from Vodafone to discuss my complaint. It was 09.55AM.
At 10.02AM I got a text message to state that they tried to call me back at 10.00AM. But when I checked my phone, strangely enough there was no missed call. It is impossible that they had called me without me seeing the call - It should be recorded somewhere.../In their text message they were asking that I call them back on 08080 045 200. When I did, the voice system requested a 6-digit reference number which had been sent to me either via text or via email. When I checked my email, I had a...7-digit reference number!!! which their voice system obviously could not recognize. So I had to wait another 45 mins on the telephone while they looked for some "super agent" to take my call.
Vodafone is the worst company I have had to deal with in my entire life. Their understanding of Customer Experience is NIL!!!

Vodafone is crippled with useless management. The people at top have no expertise in deciding where to invest and how much to invest. The company suffered billions of pound losses in its India operation and hence had to sell India operation at a cheap price. No wonder it’s share price had slipped to all time low. I worked at Vodafone and Thomas Foxwell said it’s a Micky mouse project. It took me 2 years to build as it was the most complex software to be built. On the contrary Vodafone already had a fantastic legacy Excel VBA system in place built by a genious Trevor Hebron. I kept explaining Thomas Foxwell that we don’t need a new system but he had money to spent so he spent unnecessarily.

My BB contract was coming to an end , and so i rang Vodafone to see what the deals were....i found they were cheapish, and so went with the salesmans speel... he said they had been trialling a new router of theirs in Milton Keynes, and they were having superb results!, and if i renwewed with them, i would get this new router.
I duly recieved new router and updated mobile phone app. and
ever since i have been getting half my promised speeds of 65 mbps now 30 ish mbps. the app has been saying i qualify for a claim,
and has been saying "WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING INTO YOUR CLAIM" for weeks..... yet no contact or anything, in frustration i rang them, i evetually got someone, who sounded like was in a distant call foreign center who i could not understand, i asked for someone for a lesser strong accent to call me back, and was told they would ring back in an hour, ITS NOW THE NEXT DAY, i am still waiting.
MY ADVICE IS AVOID!

Signed up as a new customer for broadband and landline phone. Since activation day (2 days ago) I have had no broadband or phone line.
Eventually got through to customer services today who now tell me its an exchange issue and OpenREACH will fix it tomorrow. (Good job I asked). Though they sounded less than convincing.
They were not sure how they would actually know when fixed and will not arrange for OpenREACH to visit my property to ensure it works (its expensive apparently!).
My phone and broadband were working perfectly before I joined.
Very poor start from a provider recommended by Which!

I order again, they cancelled it.
20 days later. Still no deal. Want to spend money. They said NO!
