Complete waste of money! I can't believe we took the time to reserve and pick up one of these hotpots while in Japan. Once your data becomes throttled it is basically unusable. It ended up being pointless for us to lug the hotspot around and make sure it was charged. Although many places in Japan have wifi, getting to those places can be quite difficult if you don't have the data to navigate or look things up on your way. Save your money! Rent from somewhere else or go with a different means of a data plan.

We paid for 4G service. Received 3G most of the time. In addition, unreliable service in Rome, Italy and Paris, France. Not recommended if traveling to these countries. You are better off utilizing restaurant and cafe wifi. Would have given 1 star; but given 2 stars for responsive customer service. Excellent customer service. Unsatisfactory internet service. Not worth the price. Please check other service providers.

We bought this to use in Japan for 2 weeks. For the first 500 mb of data, the mobile hotspot worked great, but then came the throttling. To me, throttling means slower speeds, but apparently to them it means no more data what so ever. This was dangerous traveling where we couldn't navigate properly and WiFi isn't as prominent in most areas as it is in the US. When I say no more data, I mean we couldn't even load something as simple as going to Google's home page.
Edit: messaging didn't work either. Absolutely nothing did.

Ordering, shipping and handling of my order was quite easy. The WiFi device did not always perform well (in Germany). The connection was sometimes slow and I had to restart the device about twice per day.

Would definitely use them again when traveling to Japan.

The speed was slow sometimes and might be due to the area. The response of the customer service was awesome and Lisa had been so helpful!!!

The portable wifi overall worked great on my 1-week trip to London. I shared the device with one other friend. The battery life is very long, allowing us to enjoy our vacation without worrying about charging it mid-day. However, on some days the connection was very weak and sometimes we completely lost service.

I am very satisfied with the overall service. The delivery was quick and wifi was excellent during the trip in Canada. Also it was easy to send the device back.

It worked really well but the high speed data allowance is too low. Unlimited high speed would have been nice.

The Wi-Fi unit would run out of power too quickly. I don’t know if this was a byproduct of the age of the units we rented. Overall, the units provided a helpful way to stay connected.

excellent device and used it for 8 days non stop, no issues including mountain area, raining time, and battery last very long, underestimated battery power but was surprise to see the long lasting battery...i am from singapore and our devices also cannot support so much longer battery,., we used multiple devices and all had good speed and can watch youtube and listen music and email etc...

i got to know the Vision Global WiFi through Amnet New York, which has been my travel agent. The unit arrived to me on time, and the returning the unit was smooth, except I had to make a trip to the post office on foot, the day I returned from a month trip.
I had 5Gb unit for one month, but along the way, I got a reminder that i had reached the maximum usage. This alarmed me because I had no idea how much left. i send an email to the company. I got a prompt response describing possible options etc, but no way to find what's left.
I'm wondering which plan I should choose for the next similar trip. Otherwise, I was quite satisfied with the service provided.

Overall the portable wifi hotspot was great and had little issues. The battery lasted a full day when fully charged and the speed was good. I exceeded the 500 mb threshold on some days and the speed didn't get slowed. However, there was a day where I was unable to connect which was an issue but I felt it was fair since I exceeded the threshold a couple days back. I received the portable wifi 2 days before my departure date and sending it back was very simple. They sent a postal box with the label attached so all I had to do was place the item in the box and send it back. It was a very seamless process and I would definitely use Vision Global WiFi again on my next trip but would upgrade to the 1gb plan.

I used the Global Vision Wifi router for 15 days in Ghana, Africa and it worked very well while I was in Accra or the more populated areas. But I traveled to the northern Mole region for 8 days and the wifi router did not work at ALL. It's much like how when your cell phone service is stuck on "E" or Edge, and it seems like it's working but it's really not. I hated he fact that I couldn't send texts or update my mother on how I was. It was very extremely frustrating. If they're going to advertise for having service in Ghana, they need to make sure that the device is in range for networks in the entire region. I paid for 15 days of service and was only able to actually use it for about 5 or 6.
But what I will say is that the discount I received was nice, rather than me paying $10 a day for the Verizon travel pass. I would've spent $150 extra on my bill and the Global Vision Wifi box was just over $100 for the full 2 weeks.

I rented this wifi device for a business trip overseas in Indonesia. The connection was fairly stable and the speed was ok, but the data limit is a real killer. The website claims that it can support of to 5 devices, but we only had 3 devices, and even that was too much for any business purposes.
After checking morning emails and sending some replies, we were almost already at the data cap. The website does mention that data is throttled, but after 1/2 GB data usage it started to slow down, and at 1 GB is was completely useless (which usually happened by noon).
After the first few days we (three people) only used the device for personal use, and even then we hardly made it through the day before hitting the data cap.
We also noticed that even when no devices were connected, the data usage tracker on the device would show usage. I assume this is to connect/stay connected to the satellites, but when it has to use 100MB of the 1GB limit (10%), that's a lot taken away from the customer.
We also noticed that the wifi isn't true wifi, in that it doesn't support certain file or data transfer types, such as sharing/uploading pictures.
Bottom line: If you need a wifi device for light personal use for one or two people, this will get the job done. If you need anything else, look elsewhere.
