DO NOT step foot in this place! What a joke! Went in for exam to try and improve my far away eye sight. After being told by the Doctor that he could tweet my vision, I believed him. Over three months later, $425, two exams and glasses made three times, I now have glasses and sunglasses I cannot see out of clearly!! I now have the same prescription I originally walked in with! They denied a refund and never did anything they said they would do. I heard every excuse in the book. Never returned calls when they said they would. I have worn glasses for thirty years and have NEVER had this experience ! They do not even fit the glasses to you. They hand them to you in a bag! They are only out for your money! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

If I could give ZERO STARS I would. They were totally unwilling to give us a trial pair of contacts for my daughter when she ran out to get her by until we could bring her in for an exam. I even called the corporate complaint line and the representative said that oh we have made exceptions like this before. Let me call the store and see what I can get done. When he came back to the line he informed me of the same thing that the store did. When I expressed my frustration turle representative hung up on me. Needless to say they have lost my family's business.

I went to Stanton Optical to get an eye examination and glasses. I received a eye examination over the internet. Waited about 2 hrs for that and another 20 for my glasses. They were the wrong prescription and even the person who was helping me stated so. I was told to come back the next day with an appointment to get a examination by a doctor in person to get the right prescription. I show up and check in and 1hr15min later I get asked to go to the main area away from the doctors. I stated that I needed a new exam and it was replied to with did you wear them? I tried explaining that I wear glasses and my 2yr old script was more powerful than the one they gave me and it was to weak. That the girl the day before confirmed this fact. That was met with hostility and then ignored. Was told that I was provided long vision script and I needed one for short vision. I tried to explain that with the current one I couldn't see long vision ither but again that was ignored. I received in the end two pair of reading glasses good for about 3ft, good for my phone. Something I could have got at many stores for $10. My 2yr old glasses let's me see better. Still need another exam, wasted $60...

After 2 1/2 months and 5 visits to Stanton Optical in Nampa, Idaho I finally gave up trying to get a satisfactory pair of glasses. I walked away with no glasses, no refund, just a a pocket book a few hundred dollars lighter. Their staff is incompetent and ignorant trying to tell me my eyes will get used to their inferior optics. I've been wearing corrective lenses for over 50 years and know what will work and what won't. Don't waste your time, money or dignity by walking through their doors.

I went to Stanton Optical on July 20,2019. Had my eye exam, and ordered my glasses. I ordered 1 pair for driving and the two for 59.95 we paid for out of pocket. I told the eye examiner I wanted 2 pair for reading glasses. We was not told that to get reading glasses you can walk with and read, you had to get intermediate reading glasses. When I picked up my glasses about a week later, my reading glasses were so blurry, I couldn't see out of them. That's when I was told I ordered reading glasses and "that's what I got." when I asked to get a refund, she told me no, because that's what her eye doctor ordered me with my prescription, and there was no mess up. I told the lady Manager those glasses was useless to me, because I work in a warehouse where we have pallets and boxes everywhere. I told her also if I fell over a pallet or a box, my company would not be reliable for it. It didn't seem to matter to her. People should be straight upfront with their customers!

Terrible experience here. Google, website, and even other Stanton Optical locations say that this is a Stanton location. It is not, it is a franchise.
They will promise you they will abide by the same rules and things as Stanton, then lie that they never said that and charge you 5x the price. They told me 3x it was a free follow up when i scheduled the appointment, i told 2 people in person at the appt that I was there for the free follow up, then they charged me and lied saying they dont know who told me that. I paid because I don't want to cause a scene of course, but they pretend to try to find out who so they can refund it...I gave them the day and time so that they could pull call records and recordings in order to see that someone did in fact tell me that, and they say without a name they can't do anything. I dealt with corporate for about 4 weeks trying to work out a refund, because as a single mother paying that fee literally took food out of my son's lunchbox, but after missing 1 callback during work (from the restricted number they use) I call the main number back and am told they have nothing in the system to say they were doing anything at all. They can begin the whole process again, but it can take up to 6 weeks.
I will make sure everyone knows the Terrible experience i had here. Me, my son, sister, mother, his father, stepmom and 2 kids and extended family all planned to have this be our regular eye doctor - you literally ruined the chance at having over 15 long term customers.

This place is a TOTAL waste of time. I went three times, got three different prescriptions, and each was being wrong. I ended up going to a different eye doctor, since Stanton's optometrists are apparently incompetent. On my initial exam, the doctor was on a computer screen, which was never disclosed to me until I was in the room. That was the first surprise. After the exam, I went to look at frames and came to find out that they are horrendously overpriced. After choosing to take my prescription elsewhere, the glasses I got back were the wrong prescription. I went back to Stanton, explained, and got another eye exam done, with the same end result. After the third time, I ended up having to pay full price for the glasses since they had to be redone so many times. When I went to Stanton to explain and see if I could get a refund, I was told, and I quote, "You know, you are really the one that makes your exam while you are in with the doctor." I, for one, know that I am not a doctor, so then how is it my fault? Stanton takes zero responsibility for their screw-ups. Their customer service is terrible. When you call the 979 number, which theoretically is a College Station number, it goes to a call center. When you go in to speak with someone, they are all very rude and judgmental. If anyone is ever thinking about going there, DON'T. It is a complete waste of your time and hard-earned money. Please, please go somewhere else!

This is my first ever online review... that's how pleased I am with their customer service! The technology is not just current, it's beyond futuristic. It includes FaceTiming professionals at their distant locations... to top of the line equipment! Hailey, PC helped both my husband and I get through the process in which we were then handed over to Assistant Sales Manager, Amber, for frame selections. Last but not least, Kim, Brand Manager - thank you for providing us with a supreme variety of glasses! Overall, employees very personable, professional, and provided 10 of 10 excellence in customer service! Thank you so much and we look forward to future appointments!

Alarm me to make this simple so that you do not make the same mistake. 9 months later... $400 plus out. I have two pairs of broken glasses. The worst, cheapest frames I've ever seen in my life. Be long to their frame club. Of which I will probably never pick up the frames and I'm sure that I won't get my money back on that deal.
The good pair I have have been repaired multiple times (I have been there 10 times so far) and have been replaced once and that's all they're going to do. Have both lenses with very little edging done on them so that the frames will not hold the lenses in I now have super glue them several times just so I have something to wear. The other pair is not only off axis but they're beautiful frames broke on me, taking the left temple off when I brought it back to them they put a new temple on. So now I have one female temple and one male temple and I'm sorry but the female is obviously a girl's temple not a mans'(what?). I'll be out in a minute oh yeah one more thing when they replace the temple, they also broke the joint that screws the temple onto the frame. So they're hell together by two screws one on top and one on bottom. Well I'm off to America's Best where I know I have never had any problems before. Recommend you do the same oar at least someone that has knowledge of what they're doing.

My husband and I went in got our eye exam done doctor and receptionist were great!
Then we went to pick out our glasses we were told to pick out what we wanted great we were excited to pick two glasses for 59.99. When we settled on the ones we wanted the lady told us that these were not on the special and they had very little to choose from so we said well just get the ones we wanted. The eye doctor told me that I would need bifocals the lady who was helping me said that I really only needed single vision I was happy because the bifocal cost so much more. After choosing everything she said to come back in two hour. Two hours later I came and picked them up got home and my husband glasses were broken. He went back down the next day had them replaced and later that night they broke again!now mine were only far distance and I had a hard time at work could not see anything! We went back down there today and the manager took care of us she has new glasses made with bifocals for both of us. Amber was an amazing manager she listened to us and got what we needed. If you need glasses go see amber or Hyrrison he explains everything to you so you know what your buying.

Fort Wayne Stanton Optical
Great Service and ready to offer help.
The staff were A++. The selection of frames was either, similar to the same 4 styles, or Elton John esk. Their safety frames are just crazy fun, like something from The Batman and Robin movie from the 90s.
But if you are looking for simple frames at a great price with awesome customer service. Fort Wayne Stanton is a great choice.

Just want to give a huge thank you to Amber at the university, Littlerock Arkansas location. She has went way above and beyond to make sure my wife and I was very satisfied in our glasses and experience at her store . Originally went 3 days before to get eye exams and that part went great . Then we was pointed to the Optical side to choose frames and hand over the prescription to sales . So the lady that helped was by far the worst sales associate I've had to deal with, but that's a different story . Any how I choose the bogo deal and picked the frames . Well there is a defect for that frame design as we discovered after speaking with Amber . Here is the part where she shines above the rest in what she does for her customers. Tqo times the frame i chose broke when a lense was installed. But Amber wanted me to be happy and replaced and worked on them till I was . And then the other pair I had clear lenses in had never been taken out of the case till yesterday and as I went to open them up the frame arm broke . I was upset to say the least, since the frames were 179.00 . Amber calmed me and asked for me to come back in so she c ok old address the issue . When we got there she had already pulled several pairs from her back stock and had them waiting to see if I liked any of them . I found two pair that fit my needs and she ti red them for me with my script and put the same script in the other pair for night time use . Well all this has been done and I mentioned the transition lenses and she said they word be great for my needs and ordered a third pair for me . This woman deserves not just a raise but should be running multiple stores for your company. Customer service at its finest. Thank you Amber your the best

Stanton Optical has perfected the art of ensuring you know without a shadow of doubt that you are only a source of money and not a human being.
Once I was checked in by the counter person who was eager to get back to chatting with coworkers they usher me into the exam room, sit me down, move the standard eye testing machine into place & ask, can you see through this?
Cool, she leaves the room and a television on the wall pops on with a dude in a cubical wearing a white lab coat and a telemarketers headset saying he's my eye doctor... um, excuse me, what?
Yep, he operates the machine remotely asking questions as though reading down a list. If I have a question, it totally throws him off his routine and, well, it was awkward, impersonal and a little demeaning.
When the eye machine needed to be adjusted he had to hit a buzzer to notify the same apathetic staff member to help me. She couldn't get out of the room fast enough.
After the exam, the staffer takes me to the show room, I pic some frames (FYI, the $59 frames consist of about 6 options for men and they all suck), she pulls out this document, circles a couple things, moves the pen around, talks super fast and says your total is $795.
Yep, I went in for $59 for 2 and was hit with $795.
The frames I actually chose were $95 for 2 so that was great, the prescription was $700!!!!
She was flying through the presentation and was asking for my credit card and all I could do was laugh and say... nope.
I felt like I was being scammed from the moment I walked in and this was the confirmation.
I asked to pay for the eye exam so I could take my Rx to Costco and she called her manager over and within 15 seconds I was being offered the exact same thing for $300, that was easy and a decent price so I ordered them. But why all the runaround & bs with the huge price tag if the reality is they can provide glasses at a reasonable & affordable price?
It took 14 days (Costco is 7) to come in and the product itself is decent but the experience was frustrating, belittling, 100% impersonal... just ridiculous.
Not only will I never shop there again, I encourage anyone seeking their services to either go somewhere that will treat you like they respect and appreciate your business OR run their weird gamut and ask for a fat discount.

The absolute worst experience of my life. My husband and I went on a Friday night at almost closing; my husband's first eye exam ever. We had our eye exam and were looking at frames. We both decided on a pair and their so called buy one get one free. My glass were covered under my insurance so they were pretty reasonable. My husband's were over $800 dollars and we supposedly saved over $900 under their, again, so called buy one get one free. Since it was at closing time they told us it would be almost 3 weeks before our glasses came in. My husband and I talked about it how high his glasses were so we decided to check out the prices at Sam's Club. The same glasses were only $223. We called the very next day to cancel our order right after they opened and talked with Travis (office manager)to let him know we were able to get the very same glasses at a much better price, but he was not helpful but said he would call me back. I called 3 different times that day and all I kept hearing is that they were busy and another office manager, Krystal, would call me back on Monday...she never called me back. I then called again on Tuesday to talk to another office manager, John, I told him the same story and he said all I need to do was to come down to the store and bring my credit card so they could refund our money. I went down to the store and he stated he could refund mine but not my husband's. I asked him why in the world did he not tell my that before I made the trip down there on my lunch hour, he then stated he didn't realize how much our glasses were and he could only authorize the refund on mine but that he would contact corporate to get my husband's authorized for a refund and that it would take approximately 5 days. I never received a call. During all of this time I called a number at the time at the top of our order which gives you the status of your glasses and how much longer it takes before they are finished. Every time I called that number they stated they could not find an order associated with our phone numbers. I assumed they had went ahead and canceled our order. My husband gets a call on a Saturday stating his glasses were ready. I again called John to let him know that this order should have been canceled over a week ago. He states all I need to do is to bring my receipt from Sam's (which I should never have had to do since I canceled even before the order was turned in) and he'll refund my money. I again go down there on my lunch break all for him to say..."okay I'll submit this to corporate to see what they say". I at this point am ready to scream and am totally disgusted by the incompetence of the whole staff and the rudeness. John then comes out and states he needs to see my husband's glasses before they can refund our money....I lost it and said if you people had canceled our order like you were supposed to do we wouldn't be in this mess right now. He eventually refunded my money except for the money for the eye exam which was fine. I will NEVER go to another Stanton Optical or recommend Stanton to ANYONE. Go to Sam's or Walmart, it's much cheaper!!!!

I have noticed for the last month or so there are "spots" on my lenses that will not come off using a micro fiber cloth. I even tried "dawn" dishwashing soap. Today I stopped into the Peoria IL store to see what was wrong with my lenses. The tech told me that the "scratch coating" is coming off my lenses BUT unfortunately my warranty expired a little over a month ago. He offered for $100 that they would send my glasses away for 1.5 weeks to have new lenses made. I cannot go 1.5 weeks without my glasses - I'm blind as a bat plus the glasses are about 26 months old and this is a defect! Warranty or NOT!!!!! I'm so disgusted with Stanton Optical in Peoria - I will NEVER use them again. Glasses should last longer than 2 years!!!!!

Scheduled an appointment in the Waco store for the $129 special. That has a free eye exam, 2 boxes of contacts, a bottle of Saline, a contact class and a $50 certificate toward glasses, which is on their website. i told the girl at the front which she knew nothing about. She asked another associate which she knew nothing. I told her to check the website. Finally, the last assoc. said that they would not honor that special. I drove 30 miles to get to Waco for NOTHING!!!
Then, I called the 1-800 number to let them know about my disappointment.I told the representative, who didn't understand why they did that take the $129 offer. He then, left me on hold for over 10 mins!!!
DO NOT BOTHER!!! If I would had read reviews on this company, I would not have wasted my time!!!

If negative stars were available, I would definitely use those! First time I've been here, have already waited 3 weeks, and my prescription isn't even right! Was told To give it a few days to "let my eyes adjust" what???? That's insane, first time I've ever been told to let my eyes adjust. That's not the proper answer, I've been wearing glasses for 35 years and have never been told to let my eyes adjust. Now I have to wait an additional 10-14 days... I've already made 4 trips at 22 miles one way to the business and more to come since I still don't have my glasses! Pathetic! I'll never use this place again!

We had a very poor experience here. We had appointments, waited patiently for 2 hours because one of their patient rooms wasn't working and when we finally got in the room, we learned that there was no local doctor present and someone (refractionist or something) would be facilitating the exam remotely, with no employee in the room during the exam. At one point, the sound went out and we could only see the guys mouth moving, but couldn't hear anything. My son was given different rows to read. The exam was taking far longer than any other exam, and I assuming that was due to technological delays. Half way into the exam for my son, their system went down, and we were told that they were working on it, but I was so upset that we'd waited all that time and had now wasted nearly three hours, that we didn't wait for the system to come back up. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had for an eye appointment. I will never return and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

The one good thing is that you can be seen same day and if you don’t really need a good eye exam that’s good. The bad thing is everything about this place. The staff is friendly but they don’t actually do your eye exam. The location I went to was like a telemedicine clinic where you go in to a room and there is a lady on the screen performing the eye exam. She’s reading off a script so if you don’t answer the questions exactly as she needs you to answer, she keeps asking the same thing over and over until she gets the answer she needs to move on (for ex: do you see more letters on the top screen or bottom? My answer “I can see all 5 on top but can’t see any on the bottom”, her response “so do you see more letters on the top screen or the bottom?”..... this went on until I simply answered “top”) . She then apparently shares your exam with the optometrist that is NOT at the facility and you NEVER talk with. The biller comes out and you’re told what contacts you need without any discussion. I was told to buy monthly contacts even though I have worn dailies for several years so when I told them I wanted this specific brand I had to wait for them to be able to get a hold of the doctor to change the recommendation. I have worn glasses/contacts for 22 years and have never seen anything like this. I do not trust that this was an appropriate eye exam and will be redoing it at my usual optometrist office next month.

Experience was terrible. Customer service is the worst ever. My glasses were sent to the lab a total of 5 times and still were not completed correctly. At one point they lost my frames that I provided. They claimed that they found them but when I received them back after I cancelled my order they gave me a pair of frames with their incorrect lenses and they were not my frames. How do I know this? 1) I wore them for a year and didn't recognize these as mine 2) they did not include my original lenses. The manger, Heather, claims they were mine. I think I know better than her. Two weeks after I cancelled I received a voice mail that my glasses were ready to be picked up. Gee maybe those are my original glasses that they lost and finally completed. Wasn't worth fighting with them anymore so I didn't call back. They all lied to me several times. It was an awful experience.
