I have never had worse customer service ever in my life. I tried to cancel my service, just because I didn't have the business to use that website anymore, and they have charged me for years afterward. They just won't stop. I can't even count how many emails I've sent them. I could not possibly have made it any clearer. They just won't stop charging us. It's insane. At that point you're no better than a scamming service. It's completely crazy.

Help Centre is outdated. Cannot Save pages after creation.
Not user friendly one bit! Horrid product!

Spending an entire day custom building a site with complex padding, CSS snippets and in-program content writing only to have it randomly delete itself. Congratulations guys, good job.

Be very wary using Square Space or buying a business that hosts their website with Square Space because Square Space use G Suite (Google app) and G Suite cannot be transferred inside Square Space. In other words, if you have bought or built a website using Square Space you cannot have it transferred to yourself or to someone else. I have tried everything with Square Space and Google and they have no way to deal with this problem and basically ask you to cancel and transfer the domain to another registrar/service. Square Space is therefor a complete and utter waste of time and money if buying or selling a website built using Square Space.

Terrible experience. Before buying a subscription the customer team was very responsible with any tiny questions and I was impressive. After subscription and buying 2 domains from them, I encountered major problems with logging in and transferring domain to the website. The customer care team basically disappeared with a response 2 weeks later saying they are resolving technical issues. So I am stuck with a website and a domain both of which are malfunction. I want a refund. For whoever has not subscripted, do yourself a favor and stay away from them!!!!!!

"Disqus Refugees" is a copyrighted name from a pre-own website. Where are you to shut this down before you are sued?
Perhaps rethink the pussy means of no rules. You have created a Nazi blog where only one opinion counts. Everyone else is banned by the child using your free blog.
Is this the crap you intended?
Who pays to act like a Nazi and why are you profiting off of children running blogs like 4th grade girls. No balls or brains.
Enjoy being sued by Disqus.
Afraid of the freedom of speech Hitler?

Lags a TON, glitches, confusing interface, did I mention it lags? I wish I could enjoy using Squarespace but between the lagginess and high cost I really don’t enjoy it.

Easy to establish a good, clean and fast website but their packages are very expensive in comparison to other simular services.

A really terrible experience when trying to transfer a new site design to an exiting domain. It's been going on five weeks now with no sign of ending. And is affecting our small business in the process. Avoid!

Warning... Squarespace doesn’t have a function to tell you if stripe (their credit card function) isn’t connected. The "test mode" on Squarespace says its functional even though I had a customer finally speak up and tell me it wasn’t taking their credit information. My website credit card function was offline for months even though it shows it in working function on the Squarespace side of the website.
I contacted Squarespace and they admitted that it was a function that they haven’t figured out yet. They were really rude and not willing to compensate me for the months I had been losing online sales.
I told them I would continue service I would just like the months my credit function was unknowingly disabled to be given to me as a credit. They cut off communication and told me this is the frustrating part of running an online business and this is the risk we as Squarespace users take. How awful!

Completely and absolutely terrible. They've been charging me for the past couple of months, after I assumed my trial had expired. There was absolutely no communication, invoice or nada on their part, even though I'm subscribed to all their emails. I'm never using this service again, and I recommend that nobody else use this service unless they feel like wasting their money.

Annoying service keeps all your personal data and is forever spamming me with its promotions
They don't want to speak to you. Even when you dig up the phone number on the web( yes it's there, keep digging) they tell you bad info and tell you they will reply then don't at all. THE ABSOLUTE WORST!

This is a service that boasts you will be able to, "Easily create a website or online store. Award-winning templates. 24/7 support.", but in truth it will take endless hours and still no website; if you hire a full-time designer, then this may be good fit for you.

Recently purchased a site and trying to get it up and running. There are continual glitches which mean you have to constantly go back and get support. This is patchy and time consuming. Endless apologies but frankly a company of this size should be on top of this. Very disappointing. Look elsewhere.

Terrible provider. I purchased domain through Squarespace, then started to build internet site using one of their templates. Template was nice, internet site turn out to be very nice, but... I wasn't able to use it! Squarespace were having some "technical issues" so I wasn't allowed to pair my domain with my site. I reached customer service, they opened the ticket for me and I was told the supervisor will pair my site with domain manually. I waited for 5 days, nothing. I contacted them again and then they say that they will not be able to help me for few more weeks! :D I start thinking to myself - is this some sort of scam? Why are you selling domains which can't be used and let the customers build the internet sites which also can't go live? I am so upset about all this, I waist my time and my money on them. I should rather go somewhere else. And instead of helping me or answering questions in human language, they would just reply with instructions... When you open it, those instructions are long articles, which gives you more and more instructions... OMG
It turn out I had to cancel my subscription and start somewhere else...

The set up process with DNS and SMTP with your domain set up is so ridiculous. There is very little support, no live chat, you have to go out of your way to have personalised assistance. Don't create your domain with Squsarspace, its so restrictive.
Would I recommend squarespace... NO

Wow. Really surprised by all the negative review here. Squarespace has been great for me. With absolutely no coding knowledge I built a lovely portfolio website with online store in a few days. I am tech-savvy though - perhaps if you're not you might struggle, but I found it pretty easy. I've always found the support / customer services very good, you can normally live chat within a few minutes. Much cheaper than having a site professionally built, and I have no intention of learning coding or Wordpress. I've deducted one star because currently you can't allocate shipping costs per product, only by country and weight, which isn't ideal.

I love Squarespace. I have built my entire business on Squarespace, annualy revenues of over 500K. When building my online membership business I didn't know where to start, I had a coding background, but enough to build the kind of website I wanted and also had no money to hire anyone. I was able to build an amazing website with 3rd party plugins to make the e-commerce membership platform I wanted for under $1000. Over the past 3 years I have become even more of a Squarespace believer, have launched several other businesses on the platform.
There are always going to be quirks with any platform you choose, Squarespace is very easy to use and learn.

Squarespace you lost me with your annoying ads specifically on youtube. The content is irrelevant to me, and they are being served to me back to back. Buying some cheap stock footage, throwing some copy on it and then spamming me with it is not effective. If I see one more of these ads I am going to lose it!

Nice templates for sure. Professional artist but not a savvy tech geek so it was close to impossible for me to understand their CRAP customer service (email only). I told them exactly what I was trying to achieve & the kids that work there apparently like to think of their tech abilities as intelligence but they were incapable of answering my questions in non- high tech terms. Intelligent people know how to communicate outside their own little box, not everyone is a millennial or computer savvy. Am I annoyed? Lol. Anyway FOLIOLINK is much easier to use but no analytics and I really miss knowing the stats of visitors to my site. But I have a nice website that I can navigate with ease, it's more expensive than SS but you actually talk to a human on the phone! The girl was patient.

Horrible service. It might seem easy at the beginning, but... The more you deep dive into their product/service, you'll see how it lacks all the most important things that you will need to build your site. Customizability is terrible; customer support is terrible. Everything is terrible! Also, SEO is an essential thing nowadays, but Squarespace's SEO capabilities are just plain bad. Really... do yourself a favour and use WP instead. In the end, you'll save your time, money and most important, nerves! Siteground.com, for example, offers 1-click Wordpress installation service + they have 24/7 available customer service. But there are also other good alternatives out there, just Google a bit and you'll find them. Whatever you do, just stay away from Squarespace.

Easy-ish to use, though would like better control of the templates considering the cost of the plan options. Also felt their upsell to the next tier of plan (business) is worded in a dishonest way, so I’ll be downgrading my plan next time I’m billed. Apps are helpful to manage the site.

One star, only if you don't have oodles of time to build a website. I spent hours yesterday and got nowhere. I think pros might pick it up right away, but they pitch their product as "easy." It wasn't easy for me and I've built a number of websites using Homestead. I've grown in my dislike of Homestead and was looking for a place to build a simple personal new website.
