Spectronics have provided all of our IT support and VoIP phones since we started our company 6 years ago. Everything they have set up for us works very smoothly and on the occasions where any glitches emerge their engineers work swiftly to fix them. Their IP phone system alone has been a revelation to a business like ours with offices dotted over the country. Highly recommended.

I was a client of Spectronics for nearly 5 years. We used them for both IT support and VOIP services. If the problems were basic then the service was fine however there were a few ups and downs and one howling error on Spectronics part. If we wanted to speak to the management about something we were unhappy with (Ben), they were rarely available which was extremely frustrating.
However my biggest gripe was how we were tied in to them contractually. When we signed our contract with them i understood it to be 1 month notice period however on leaving it transpired that we had misunderstood this and it was actually a fixed 12 month contract with a 1 month notice period. I gave notice in August, hoping to terminate in October. However we were tied in with Spectronics until April. We were moving to offices with an inbuilt VOIP and IT offering so ended up having to pay spectronics for 7 months for services that we could not/ did not want to really use.
The final straw was when Spectronics signed us up to 12 month licences once we had already give notice (these could have been bought monthly). I wanted my new supplier to have control not Spectronics. Spectronics then cancelled all my licences meaning that i had paid for them upfront but then could not use the licenses - and i received no warning from Spectronics that if i cancelled i would loose the licences forever. Below was the response i got from them when i complained:
"Further to our earlier conversation, having attempted to re-activate your Office license subscription, your account has in fact been cancelled from our suppliers’ system for Office. This was owing to the request you made to cancel all services with us at the earliest opportunity, so that you could transition to your new suppliers swiftly. Unfortunately, we are unable to re-add this account or licensing without engaging in a new 12-month contract with our suppliers. You will need to re-contract Office licensing either with ourselves or your new provider. Apologies for not having realised this before asking you to re-add our access. You can remove this access via your admin console if you so wish. For clarity, the charges for Office remain unchanged, as the licenses were contracted annually (both to us and yourselves), and so we have had to pay these charges to our suppliers despite the early cancelation of these"
I was warned by a previous client of Spectronics that they make it very difficult for you to leave, i was sadly already a client so the warning was too late. This note is for all potential customers - be very aware of what they are tying you into - it cost us £0000's.

I have been extremely impressed with the level of service received from Spectronics to date. I always feel reassured when Michael is working on a project, as all of my queries are resolved in a timely manner, with meticulous attention to detail.

Appalling. Do not use this company. They overcharged me £540 to do simple work in a home installing WiFi. The product they installed never worked. They refused to return to the house to remedy the situation. Their customer service is utterly dreadful. YOU MUST AVOID THIS COMPANY

My company used Spectronics for VoIP services over a 12 month period. It was a terrible experience from start to finish. The service never worked properly - frequently one side of the conversation couldn't hear the other. We could never reliably call international numbers despite notifying Spectronics on multiple occasions. Spectronics even completely stopped us making calls at one point because they 'forgot' to record on their system that a Direct Debit had been set up. Never a word of apology for any of these things - only an insistence that we see out the full contract despite us not receiving a working service. Overall, a really terrible experience. The only positive thing about Spectronics is that the service is fairly cheap. But if it doesn't work, it doesn't matter how cheap it is. We're so happy to be with our wonderful new VoIP provider, and everything is now working perfectly.
EDIT: thanks for your reply Chris. Unfortunately, however, it isn't true. We worked very hard over many months to allow you to fix the call issues. We kept logs of when the issues occurred and sent them to you. On the international calling, we were told by you on numerous occasions that the issue had been fixed, and yet it wasn't. And regarding the DD, I'm afraid it was not promptly switched back on - we had to call to remind you. Perhaps overall Spectronics is a good company - the other reviews certainly suggest as much. However the customer service manager we were assigned was appalling and incompetent, resulting in the above issues.

The hosted VOIP package from Spectronics is by far, one of the very best that I have come across. By giving both key features while allowing for complex setups, yet offering simplicity at the same time - I would highly recommend Spectronics to anyone looking for a hosted VOIP platform.

Spectronics provides our Boston office with telephone connectivity to the UK which we use to speak to clients over there. The service has been really good and I've been very happy with everything. We're currently in talks with them about expanding the system to cover our South Africa and Middle East offices.

We required hosting for an event's page, as well as a suite of email accounts and advice on a e-commerce system to sell tickets. SpecTronics were excited and enthusiastic as well as informed and prompt with their support. One thing about SpecTronics is that we ended up only paying for exactly the services we needed, which is a refreshing alternative to usual package deals.

I used Spectronics to help me find a suitable pc. They helped guide me towards the best one for me suited to my work and social needs. They helped make the complex things understandable and the end product i received was spectacular. I ordered a mac which was quick to arrive and I got the best value for my money. I would recommend using spectronics for all your computing needs and issues.

Having been let down by one VoIP service I had to get another installed as a matter of urgency for my business. I did some research and found SpecTronicsUK. I chose them because it was a fairly local firm, UK-based and it seemed to have some good reviews.
I had my new VoIP service set up in a matter of hours. The guys were incredibly helpful, discussed the various options with me and weren't interested in selling me the most expensive package. I run a small business and SpecTronicsUK had a great package available which was very cost-effective.
They walked me through the set-up whilst I was on the telephone and followed up with several emails afterwards to make sure I was happy with the service and that it was running well.

I hired Ben to overhaul our website after a poor experience with our previous developer.
The end product was fantastic both in terms of design and functionality - he also helped move the hosting and email services to a better and more cost effective provider.
I was equally impressed with communication throughout the process - Ben gave regular updates and explained technical choices in simple language.

Customer care has been good, ported my existing numbers from Virgin and have been happy with quality. The setup was a bit fiddly because the control panel is quite comprehensive. All in all very happy but even 2 months down the line I'm still tweaking things to get it perfect.

I messaged Spectronics using their live support chat on their website. The employee (not during normal working hours!) walked me through the package builder which was very helpful.
The online control panel is a little on the complex side and the range of services are in excess of what I need, although I guess this means it has the necessary flexibility for larger companies/ more complicated set ups.
At all points during the set-up process my account manager was happy to take calls and clarify various bits of jargon - if this is the normal level of customer support then it's fantastic.
All in all a very good value product, especially considering the support I received. Would recommend.
