Potential customers should be aware that this company goes under different names, including "4Wheel Parts", "4Wheel Drive Hardware" and perhaps others, so reviews of all three or more should be consolidated. In this regard, I recently ordered a roof-top tent from "Smittybiltdepot.com". It was shown as "IN STOCK" but when I received no shipping information after 1-2 weeks I called them and was told the item was "back-ordered" and given no estimate of when it would be shipped or delivered. So I called them back and cancelled the order and pointed out that they had already billed me for the total amount despite the fact that their invoice states that this will not occur until shipment of a purchased item. Then they went ahead and shipped me the item anyway! When I complained and asked for a refund they advised me to refuse the shipment and they would refund the full amount when the item was returned. In the meantime, I found the same tent for $200 less on Amazon.com and placed a new order not realizing that the Amazon partner, "4Wheel Drive Hardware", that would be shipping the tent, had the same mailing address as Smittybiltdepot.com and 4Wheel Drive Parts. I attempted to contact the carrier but no luck, so I finally sent their customer service an email to explain the situation. When I was eventually called by the carrier I refused the order as advised by Smittybiltdepot.com, thinking it was the first order. So far, a month and a half after my initial order, nothing has arrived -- no tent and no refund. occurred.

I purchased a brand new Smittybilt X20 12K. The winch was revived in good condition however on inspection of the rope a strand was found to be frayed. I sent pictures to Smittybilt and they were happy to send a new rope. However, I had to pay shipping for the return of the original rope even though it was a manufacture defect. They should have send a prepaid label in my opinion. So I am not happy and will never recommend any smittybilt product, EVER!!

Tailgate installation!!
This was a joke! This project should have been a simple and taken less than7 hours to install. Came a-crossed several hiccups and hurdles with this installation. Following issues we encountered during installation, weld was an incorrect location and had to grind weld off, poor work instructions and missing information in work instructions which caused delays an installation of tailgate, missing bolts (not just a couple but a handful) poor aligned screw holes. When a customer pays $600 on a tailgate they expect to get well defined installation instructions, all the correct parts and components to complete the installation. Very disappointing, especially for this high end brand name.

I have a brand new $200+ compressor that won't start and never has. I've emailed Smittybilt multiple times to get directions on how to return. They send a boilerplate Ticket number (that's different each time) and never answer my question. I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of XRC bumpers and accessories but won't be in the future. These folks couldn't care less about customer service. As I write this, I am on minute 16:01 of being on hold. I'm hanging up now and won't ever buy Smittybilt again. l sent compressor back today but frankly I don't give a crap if they even replace it. Redrock 4Wheeler member and Utahn.

Calling for support is ridiculous, on hold forever and when you do get someone they transfer you to hold again. Contacted thru their site and it gave me a ticket number, been 4 days and heard nothing. All I want to do is buy a part!!

The Worst company experiance ever!!!
Orderd a $1500.00 front bumper on Dec 15th 2018 here it is Dec31 and still no shipping, tracking info.
Chynna Smyser the rep I emailed now between both of us 8 combined times and still nothing.i called the phone shifting around game 7 times till there mgr. Said he would call me back and nothing. I orderd the same time a rear bumper from rough country they sent me in 10 mins shipped to my house 3 days from California and they had fires.. 4 wheel company still nothing. They keep saying its in there hub in Florida. Theres no storms going on and still no shipment to my house or tracking info. Ridicules Customer Service. Good luck if you buy anything from them.

I have the smitybilt scout trailer and was missing the special lug key for the wheels. I called smittybilt and informed them I was leaving on a wheeling trip the following Tuesday and needed wheels out on trailer to take it with. They Shipped it for me on a Friday and had it on Saturday!! Awesome Smittybilt!! Thank you so much!!

Bought 2 winches yes 2 at same time...only one has been installed ...and yep DOESN'T WORK.. WONT take it back , told me I'll have to pay to send it back...what a bunch of crap...now AGAIN waiting on replacement parts on a NEW NEVER USED WINCH....if that don't work the junk is going in the garbage...buyer beware...

Trying to find out what the problem with my order of this winch.........your company representative has ran me around rather than give me an honest answer where the winch that I ordered and pre paid for is...........
After being transferred to various extensions by your company representatives and my call lost repeatedly......my 3rd phone call to your company representative 1 hours later - I spoke with representative named Art - he could not tell me if my winch was ordered - shipped - or what the problem is.............
I told Art to cancel my order. Buyer beware...

Was trying to buy a roof rack from them but just needed the measurement between the mounting holes to made sure it fit my truck before buying it. I called customer service and they hung up on me the first time, put me on hold for 34 minutes and dropped the call the second time and told me to just go into 4wheel parts and that they would have that info. I even asked the smittybilt reps at the truck and keep fest at the smittybilt booth and no one had a clue or was even willing to try and find out and contact me. I guess they don't want my business.

Haven't received Sure Steps I ordered for my Ford F-150 yet but, the website kept glitching on my billing & shipping address info. I'm an IT Tech and can say that their site's account functions are fairly confusing. It ended up using my home address as the shipping, even though I put in a different one as it instructed me to. Had to call customer service. After holding for 10mins, Spoke to one guy (explained the situation), was transferred and on hold for another 30mins til I spoke to a lady at 4 Wheel Parts??? She confirmed my confirmation number, name & address, then placed me on another hold for another 5mins. Lol Finally... Brett got on and took care of changing my shipping address. He also confirmed that the tax is included in their pricing and that my item is in stock & will be coming out of Denver. He said it should be processed/shipped in 1-2 days. I'm also supposed to receive email alerts regarding my shipment. We shall see...

Ordered winch. Recieved order confirmation. Waited and no winch. Called and they couldn't find order. Then I was told that my card was declined. They had my email and phone number but no contact They do not give tracking number you have to call them. Reordered was told winch would be here on Friday. On sat I called and was told that it was shipped and it should be there on Wednesday. It did finally show up. Will not be doing busness with these people again

Called Monday, ordered a winch. Explained to the sales rep that I was going on a trip Friday, and needed the winch in time for the trip. Attempted contact tuesday, but BJ was "at lunch" and never returned my calls. Here we are Wednesday, and i've spoken with BJ twice to get tracking information to no avail. I was promised an email within a few minutes. 3 hours later, no email. Called in, found out winch hasn't even shipped yet. Canceled order. Good luck with your lackluster customer care.

I bought a 10,000lb winch for 399. Can you even come close to that if you bought American? It would cost you more than a 1.000 dollars for Warn. And to be fair Warn has had their share of problems too. Basically you pay about a third the price of American. Smittybilt, thanks for helping us out.

I purchased a set of Neoprene seat covers for my 1989 YJ in 2013. These neoprene seat covers have been in my Jeep for 2 years now, and I already need to replace the front seat covers because they're falling apart. Keep in mind, this is a weekend cruising toy for me, and I'm lucky if I put 500 miles a year on my Jeep since she comes out mainly in summer only. The back bench seat cover is holding up fine since no one ever sits in the back. I'm really disappointed that these clunked out after such little use. I'm a loyal Smittybilt fan. I have their bumpers, sliders, light mount, and a rear tire carrier. Unfortunately, the qualify of these covers did not last like their metal welded goods have. Maybe they were a bad batch? You can't really argue with the prices, but for $170 for a full set, I would have expected to get at least 5 years our of them, maybe even more given my very limited use. There's no warranty for these so now that I'm due for another set so soon, I'll likely take my business elsewhere. For the customer care folks that read these reviews, you can retain a loyal customer here by standing by the product and help replace my front covers. Two stars because the customer service has always been good, but my review mainly reflects this particular product.

Ordered a cargo net and after installing it I noticed a tear in a strap. I called and after almost a half hour on hold I got to speak with the one customer service rep. But they refuse to send out a replacement and return label until they receive the damaged net. I offered to send the damaged one back after I received the replacement so that the inconvenience would be a one time occasion and I wouldn't have to put the Jeep top back on in the meantime but no. Lesson learned...you get what you pay for and I will spend my money at Quadratec from now on.

Looking to buy a winch online I ordered from smittybiltDepot. It says it's in stock and ready to ship. On checkout it says itll get to me in 7 to 10 days. Perfect, just in time for my wheeling trip With my buddies.
3 days later I never got a tracking number. I called to get a status and was in queue for what felt like half an hour to talk to customer service.
once I get a hold of someone they tell me it's on backorder and won't get any in for almost a month. I ask why it says it's in stock and ready to ship on the product page of their site. She says she doesn't know.
Im going to buy somewhere else. Because of the lack of clarity in their site I don't want to add an additional step in my purchasing and have to call to see if a product they have is really in stock or if the site is wrong. I'll never buy from them again. Fix your site.

I have to agree with other reviewers when it comes to a product that says it is "In Stock Ready to Ship". I received an order confirmation email and after 2 weeks sent an email to customer support to ask about the status and never got a response. Called to cancel the order and was then told my item was on back order for several months. If that was the case the web site should reflect this status and a reply to my email explaining the situation would have been appreciated. There are actually several other items I wanted to order, but will do so with another company.
Basic Customer Service and communication go a long way in setting expectations. SmittybiltDepot fails miserably in these areas.

Hey Smittybuilt people I love the side steps and grill guard I bought from you, I had no trouble installing all of them and thought they looked good and they have already been put to use!! The only thing I didn't care for was the fact they were all made in China?? Let's bring some of these jobs back to America?? Then the ignorant POS that we have to call a president can take all the glory for getting more Americans employed!! Thank you for prompt delivery and products were in very good condition!

Easy installation. No clearence issue's with the stock spare tire mount with the 32x10.5. I ordered the hammered finish and like it, but has chipped off in a couple spots.

I installed a set of the Smittybilt steps on my truck when I brought it home back in 2004. But they had to go. Plastic step on one side took a tear and with there being no replacements for them I had to buy another set to install after 8 years. Aww well. I like the black better anyhow. Thanks folks.

I ordered a bikini top for my jeep, I called every week for 6 weeks and still no top. I talked to customer service and they treat you like a idiot because you are calling to see what happened to your order. They reponded every week " it will be in nexy week " I never got it and they honestly don't care if you tell them to cancel your order. Hands down the worst experience I have ever had tryin to buy a product online they suck!!

Seriously, graviously, disappointed. I deserve at least $100 off my purchase after several phone calls, many emails to a bad email address and still waiting 3 1/2 weeks later. If I had not already waited so long my business would have gone elsewhere. Poor customer service.
