HUNTING FOR EXTRA MONEY AFTER END LEASE
I want you to be very carefull with Sixt. We rented a car from Sixt this summer for around 44 days in Denmark. When we should pick it up at 12am from their site in Hellerup it was completely empty. After I while walking around and looking in of the windows we spottet a little not that we should call a certain phone number to be able to get in touch with somebody. We called and after a bit one of the cleaning staff showed up with a key to our car. No instructions or anything else was given. Only the key. When we started to drive we could see that the tank was not full and the panel keep on blinking with the message "system faillure". I found a contact mail online and wrote to them and they said we should not worry and just keep on driving which we did for 44 days.
We handed the car in nice and clean as usual after our vacations in Denmark through the last 15 years. Never had any issues before before now.
After around two weeks we received a extra bill on 1000 USD claiming that we had stolen the hat shelf and left the cabin with cat/dog hair in. We don't even have a cat or a dog and we for sure did not stole the hat shelf from the car. What to use it for.
After reading all the other reviews on Trustpilot then I believe that Sixt started to use dirty tools to earn extra money and are claiming people for damages, horrandous extra cleaning hours and random missing parts from the cars they lease out to you.
WATCH OUT FOR DIRTY TRICKS!
We have submitted our case to "Klagenævnet" in Denmark for them to judge the situation. The latest news from Sixt is that they wrote to us that they don't hold back their extra billing for "Klagenævnet" to judge the situation but want us to pay it now or they will add on extra 15 USD plus 2% for every month it will take for "Klagenævnet" to figure it all out. Whattt... It's important to mention that we off course paid our rent of the car as soon as we gave the car back.

I leased a Renault Zoe electric car and although it said 5 day delivery, after signing up for it, they ran in to delivery problems. I ended up waiting for 2,5 weeks for the car. When picking it up, it was very dirty inside and outside! I wasn’t shown how to operate the car and was just left at the parking lot. The car was also not charged and only had 75%. So a trip from Copenhagen to Jylland just got even longer. In the specifications, it should be able to drive 150km on a full charge. This was not correct at all! At most in said 98km. I downloaded the car app, and it told me that the 12v battery needed to be changed and also service in September. The car didn’t have the service book so I couldn’t see if it had been done. On the way home it warned me about there pressure. Even after checking it, it gave the same warning again and again. After a lot of fuss back and forth, I finally got an appointment at the mechanic. They changed 4 bulbs, changed the battery and fixed the front breakes. And still after that, the most it would be able to go was 130km on a charge. This was not okay, and I called to take the car back! I did so, and even though I had it taken to do service on my own findings, and not being able to drive the car for 4 out of 7 days, they still withdrew 2800kr! How can you deliver a dirty car to a new customer and not had it go through service and make sure all light and everything is working!!

Extremely poor customer service. I ordered an Alfa Giulietta for collection at Florence airport. At the time of booking I paid an additional £90 for a sat nav.
On our arrival in Florence we were given an larger car ( Audi A30) and was informed that this car comes with sat nav as standard. When I requested a refund of the £90 I was told they couldn't authorise the payment.
The staff were unfriendly and indeed lost all interest when we declined further insurances. We were left to find the car, no one demonstrated the controls, and despite us requesting a sat nav set to English the one we were given was in German.
We did not enjoy driving the car, it was too large and given that we are now getting on in years we did not enjoy the driving experience, hence the reason we requested a smaller vehicle.
On our return home we contacted sixt by email. We received no response for a couple of weeks then we got an apology for the lateness of the reply and a request for the booking number. We forwarded the required number straight away, since then , and despite several further emails from us, we have been totally ignored without even a simple acknowledgement.
We will continue to bash away at this and in the meantime we wish to offer this warning to anyone considering using this company, they have absolutely no customer focus and their customer support department seems to be non existent.

We used sixt out of Alicante. When we were at the Airport we were advised to use Sixt own car insurance and informed that sixt would cancel the insurance we had taken out with Auto holidays and that we would get the money back. The insurgence was cancelled straight away but as for getting the money back , not a chance in hell ! My first gripe with sixt is that they misinformed us , and the second is that they would do business with such a cowboy outfit as Auto holidays .

I downloaded Sixt app on my Swedish work phone to rent a car for private use. Then I found the car that I wanted to rent for 3 days to make it possible to see my family in Jylland and get back to Copenhagen to a scheduled hospital appointment. Normally we would just take the train, but because of the times we had to rent a car. Everything in the ordering process went fine and smooth, we got free kilometers, which was why I rented the car with Sixt. I booked it with my danish address in the app and got a price of around 1200 dkk for the 3 days.
When we went to pick up the car the salesman said that the car was booked as a foreign car rental and asked me if I didn’t live in Denmark. I told him I live on the address I typed in the booking - a danish address in Copenhagen, and he told me that the agreement would change, because when you live in Denmark the rules are different - then he gave us the new price of 3300 dkk - we couldn’t say no because of our appointments and ended up paying the new price. I can say that we for sure will never rent a car through Sixt again - and that I will never recommend a company that lets you book a car with a danish address and then more than double your price when you get there to pick up the car. I read the terms and booked as advised in the app - even the salesman agreed that it shouldn’t be possible to make the booking if it’s not valid.
Other than that the car was fine and the salesman was very sweet, service minded and apologetic of the “mistake”.

Paphos scamming crew, Female manager thought she'd got one up on me total liars. We arranged to collect the car from the airport on arrival my card was declined for security reasons so we arrange to collect the next day.
We called the next day to be told our car had been leased. We would have to upgrade at an extra cost and it wouldn't be available until the next day. I called them as a prospective new customer and recorded the conversation. Not only was a car available they would drop it off within a few hours. Don't use them I had to get a full refund from my credit card company. PLEASE READ OTHER REVIEWS SCORE 1.3

Beware of this company. You'll pay yourself stupid in the end. I had the choice to pay 250€, or to return the car 600km away in Munich. A damage of 40€ was withdrawn with with 300€ because of "the insurance rules". I had problems with the insurance of my new car because Sixt couldn't get the documents ready.
I will never get a car from them again and I can only recommend to everyone to stay away from them. The cars are way too expensive anyway.

booked an SUV (Jeep Renegade or similar) over two months before our family trip - Treviso Airport Italy.
upon arriving to the desk after a long flight with two young children, Sixt give me a small hatchback (BMW Series 1) - which is not big enough for our luggage, and is not in any sense 'similar' to a Jeep or any SUV I'm aware of.
I returned to the desk immediately - but was told I would have to pay extra if I wanted a bigger car. Polite service, but useless and clearly not caring for the customer in any way.
Returned again in the morning to again ask what could be done. After a few phone calls, the response was the same: pay more if you want a car that matches the one you actually booked.
Now we are on our two week family trip in a small hatchback that barely fits our luggage.
will not use sixt again, and will tell everyone to beware, especially if you are travelling with a family. they are not a family friendly company and show very little care for the customer.
I would try one of the other providers next time - don't be fooled like I was!

This company is fraud customers with their insurance policy. I needed to repair the car, since it has small damage and some scratches. They said they will reimburse the cost of repair in total and they confirm this. I repair the car on my cost and the cost was approx 2500 Eur and i sent them invoices. They reimburse the total cost of the repair. After 1 month they sent invoice for 1000 Eur that i need to pay, since they have in their policy that customer needs to pay 20% of cost of repair but minimum 1000 Eur. They also enforce this via court, since i didn't want to pay. First time i heard that Kasko Insurance doesn't cover total cost of repair. They should lost their leasing license. Seems that Germany doesn't take care for this kind of BAD companies!

One of the worst companies to deal with. Their customer service is bad. The cars that go to mechanics they make you bear all the bills. Not recommended at all.

I prebooked a Mercedes for my staying in Germany. When you prebook a car it's easy to believe that the papers, keys and everything is prepared when you arrive. it's not!
First I had to stand in line for 2 hours (the line for prebooked cars!)
When it's my turn I got a Skoda instead of a Mercedes. And the "salesman" says its pretty much the same car! No it's not!
But no luck in trying to convince him. Then he tells me that my full insurance I have payed for will not cover damages. Heard him say this ti everyone! I had no time to argue, already late. But no extra insurance please and just give me the car. I'm late!
I will never rent from Sixt again. Deeply disappointed. And after this in emails they say I even got an upgrade! What a joke! Frods!
Don't rent from Sixt they will scam you if they got the opportunity!

PLEASE READ BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY!
I never leave reviews however this company deserve this. I beg who reads this to just forget using this company, just look at everyone else’s experience. I forgot to read the reviews and I am so so disappointed with myself. Without the use of bad language, this company are the worst, inefficient, corrupt, rude, terrible company I have ever come across.
Reserved a car, was unavailable. Had to drive a new BMW. They took a huge deposit, they checked the car after and said everything was fine. Then a few days later they send me a picture of a black mark on the front bumper. They said it was me who was driving the car at the time it happened. Funny that the bmw was a brand new white, the car was checked over then suddenly they find a black mark that has not been picked up on the check. I am now battling with them in an investigation. Just come of this webpage and don’t go there, you will remember reading this if you use them and kick yourself for it.

Wish i’d Read these reviews before I booked online. Phoned and told it is not possible to amend an online booking, I have to cancel, incur full charge and rebook.
Stay clear, use someone else, I’m heading back to Avis, never had a problem with them so I shouldn’t have left chasing the cheapest deal.

Pree booked online and paid on collection in the friendly Liverpool branch. Was told by staff when i collected that everything was finished with payments and i was good to go. I even paid a little extra with the online deal for more millage as i know i was going to do 500 miles in 2 days. Great car, great customer service in the branch and gave the car back on time with no problems. Less than five days later my bank details are used by sixt for another £50 odd, i rang my bank to report the transaction. Thay blocked my card on the Friday so i had no bank card all weekend and tbe bank holiday Monday! My bank paid me back the balance that sixt got. Then some time later sixt email me a credit note but then email me a £21 outstanding bill? I will not be using the credit note nore will i pay the 21 bill. Crazy company

Dont ever rent from Sixt!!!
My husband made the reservation online and it was all confirmed. We went to pick up the car in the Hanover City Centre and was assisted by two very rude ladies. They were saying that the car that we booked is not available instead they would give us a worse car for a higher price. When we complained their service and attitude they called the police on us ! If you expect a good and professional service , do not even cosider Sixt! They should be ashamed that their slogan is good customer service. They do not want to hear any complaint and was forcing you to take the bad deal.
Sixt, if you dont change your sales attitude you dont belong in the service business.

Sixt car rental deals with customers complaints, after renting, in a very slow and unprofessional way. They take ages to answer to an e-mail, when they do, they don´t answer to what we asked for and when we call to require an answer, they say that you should write an e-mail for a better understanding of what we, as customers, want...!! How meaningless is that??
Furthermore, we rented a diesel car, and they told nothing about Ad-Blue feature-liquid. After spending almost 4 days of our vacation trying to find the liquid and calling to Sixt office, we got an Opel expert to look at it, which gave us the right advice. We found out after being in Opel stand, that the information Sixt gave us on the phone (both the customer service office and the technical support) was misleading: the car doesn´t just block suddendly and 1 L was definately not enough.

Paid to hire a vehicle from this company.
Upon arriving to collect it, I was told they dont have one.
I was told I would be refunded.
Seven days later I had still not been refunded.
I had to send a website contact form to be able to get hold of someone about the matter. Still no refund.
Then, another three days later, money is taken from my account and they send another invoice. This has caused me to go overdrawn so I'll now ģet bank charge for that.
Give me my money back, stop sending email invoices, stop taking my money, and remove my bank details from your systems!!!
