From listening and watching this webinar, the speaker certainly knows his subject: Hive.
The introduction was well done and he listed the topics that would be covered. However the body of presentation was not very polished:
- Not enough slides to cover the topics (two slides for metastore and one other slide for all the other Hive topics)
- Typing into powerpoint slides as he spoke which is off putting and seemed to show lack of preparation
- 'What is Hive' slide contained typos, so again corrected on the fly.
- Could see from the outline that he had plenty of other slides but these were not used or shown (these maybe the ones used on the paid courses)
- switching between different terminals was difficult to follow, speaker should indicate what he was doing so that we could follow
- good detailed command line but explanation was gone over quickly.
On this basis, I certainly would not enrol on a Simplilearn course if it was taken by this speaker.
