I was reticent to make the switch to Simple Practice, unsure if I wanted to add an additional cost to my monthly expenses. It turns out switching was the best decision yet. The site, after a few clicks to get familiar, is incredibly user friendly and streamlined. It is so amazing to have everything in one place and to know that client records are securely stored without me having to worry. On the client side, all my clients have reported that it is very convenient for them being able to access scheduling and schedule sessions out into the future. If you're thinking about it, just take the leap and try the free 30 days. You'll be sold after that!

So much easier than other billing systems I've used in the past! So much help and technical support!!

So far I really like Simple Practice. I've used the program for almost a year as part of a group practice and now I'm using it as a solo practitioner and administrator. The ease of submitting claims has been amazing as well as being able to create and edit my own forms. I would like some additional customization of the clinical notes used to document sessions but that's minor compared to what I like.

Very easy to use. Has been a huge help in keeping on top of notes and treatment plans.

Honestly, I am a tough critic. But, this program is the real deal. Everything is seamless, and the name SimplePractice is very fitting. The entire process has been simple. I really appreciate the program and what it has done for my private practice.

I compared (but did not trial) a slew of other EHR systems out there and this one offered the most features and options for me as I returned to the profession after a hiatus. I had previously worked in an agency setting (overseas!) so there was so much for me to navigate as someone setting up a private practice and the resources (especially pre-existing notes/forms) gave me such relief to have!
The top convenience has been the ability to electronically send documents (especially intake forms. which I can customize) ahead of times to allow me to focus on the client in session - and accommodate treatment pivots. There is also secure messaging which is handy, and the online client scheduling system has also been helpful. I also had a couple hiccups and the support team, while only available via email, were very responsive and personal in their attention. The Wiley treatment planner is also pretty handy and the system as a whole (after 6 weeks of use) has been reliable.
The reason for taking off a star is that it is not especially intuitive to navigate, there are some quirks especially when editing forms (you have to cut and paste text in order to edit, short answers + groups disappears as an option) and my current big bugabear is that there needs to be an option to upload and include a psychosocial summary in the Client overview - currently I'm limited to only adding a new MSE or Treatment plan (outside of chart or session notes) and the ability to add in a summary report, which can happen across a couple of sessions, is not possible. Perhaps I can attach it to a session note (would the attachment title show in the overview?) but it's an important part of how I'm figuring out I want to practice in this country in a private practice.
Overall though, this has been a massive home run for me who has needed some serious hand-holding!

SimplePractice is simple to use for the most part. It takes a little getting used to but it’s makes organizing client information easy. It also integrates “Stripe” for credit card transactions which is convenient because most of my clients do not carry cash. I have used both Therapy Notes & SP and I prefer SP.

Simple Practice has been the answer to many of my challenges in running a private psychotherapy practice. I love how easy it is to keep my notes and create superbills. I've just started using it and there's lots to explore. The only trouble I have with it is that it doesn't read my google calendar, so it's not a true two-way sync. This has made the transition hard for me, as it doesn't pick up standing appointments I've made before I started using Simple Practice, and I have to put all of my personal time blocks into the Simple Practice calendar or it will mark me as available for bookings when I'm actually not.

I switched from using another practice management system and I honestly wish I had just started out with Simple Practice from day one! My favorite things about switching to simple practice are the client portal, automated invoices and billing, and how easy it is to find answers to things I don't know how to do.
The client portal is really amazing. I used to spend 5-10 minutes every time I had a new client dragging and dropping files and composing an email to send. Now that I have all of my intake forms set up and saved all I have to do is click once and the email with all the forms is ready to go. Plus everything is paperless now for my practice!
I also used to spend a lot of time at the end of each day creating invoices and making sure I would bill each client. It always felt like such an important but annoying task in order to collect payment. Now most of my clients are enrolled in automatic billing and I get paid without having to think much about it. And instead of having to remember to sent superbills to my clients now they always have easy access to superbills, invoices and statements in the portal too.
I just recently started working with insurance and I was worried that figuring out the billing and management of that would be hard but I just looked at a few articles in the help center and I know I can always send in a question and usually get a step by step answer on how to accomplish what I'm trying to figure out.
Over all what I'm trying to say is if you are looking at other practice management sites, don't. Simple practice has saved me so much time because of its ease of use and automatic functionality.

I am a new therapist and with that there are many undertakings but finding an excellent software for charting, bill keeping, insurance tracking, etc. was not an issue because SimplePractice has been wonderful!

My favorite part about Simple Practice has to be the customer service. The chat feature is very helpful and I know that I can easily get answers to my questions. The program is very intuitive and user friendly. The only suggestion I have is that it would be helpful to have special features available for clientele who are minors, such as having the ability to customize automatic emails with their parents names.

My experience with SimplePractice has been great. The site is easy to use and helps me stay organized. I love the progress note templates, which make it easy to write effective notes quickly. It's a relief to have all of my notes and client information stored in one place, knowing that the information is safe and secure.

I use simple practice for my therapy work; but I also use this for my organizational consulting clients- which I invoice and bill at an hourly rate. It's great that I can schedule, track, and bill both clinical and consulting work using this platform. I get to create my own services (e.g., 1 hour consulting, Training, etc...) and invoices are created automatically for me. With that, the downside for me is related to billing and invoicing. The invoicing process isn't the most user-friendly if you want to go back and edit or delete them (but I'm still relatively new to using the software, so I might figure something out). Overall, however, SP saves me hours of time every week--so it is well worth the investment, even for a small solo practice.

I haven’t used other systems that integrate everything, because I just graduated in December. However, I love how I can schedule my clients, write their notes, upload documents pertaining to them, and even charge them all in one place!
I do think the integrated charging system is a little pricy, especially since you already pay a monthly fee, but I justify it to myself because it stores clients cards in the system safely.
When I was just doing a 30 day trial I was even able to add my supervisor as a clinician so that she could access my notes and check my work. That requires her to have her own account and for one of us to pay for it. I couldn’t justify $30 a month for that service if she wasn’t already using it. With that said, if it is a system that many people in your office are using I can see how that would be really helpful!

I have a small practice and this does the trick. I have the basic account, and while I'm sure the higher level accounts would improve my experience I can't justify upgrading given the size of my practice.

I’m new to SimplePractice, and so far, I’ve really enjoyed it. It took some exploring and practice before I felt like I had a good handle on using this tool, but now that I’ve been using it for the past month it gets easier and easier to use. I love the client portal function, I loved how easy it was to sync to my business bank account, and I love the paperwork templates offered.

After using SimplePractice for a few months I'm really appreciating having my notes, calendar, etc. in one digital safe place. There are a few User Interface upgrades that I would suggest that would make it even better. I think the UI designers would benefit from sitting down, as a therapist, and testing it out in real life. There's a bit of unnecessary toggling back and forth to gain access to certain pages that seems easy to fix. Even so, I still will continue to use it.

So far so good! I'm new to it but so far really loving the ease of simple practice. My only compalint would be that the client portal isnt set up that well if you see siblings or multiple family members.

I have been using Simple practice for approximately one month. I love the fact that it is easy to use to create clients, schedule appointments and make and create notes, treatment goals and chart progress. I would recommend it to other therapist and professionals to use.
