Sherpa Prep is simply the best! When I started my GMAT journey, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. There was no way I could have done well on the GMAT, much less get into a top B-school. The instructors are truly invested in helping you succeed and beat the GMAT beast (and it really is a BEAST!). My test scores have improved immensely, but more importantly, my confidence with the test has seen the most improvement. This team of instructors is experienced and connected, and they want to help you every step of the way. I'm so happy I made the decision to sign up with Sherpa Prep. I can't sing their praises enough.

I really needed accountability when studying for the GRE and Sherpa Prep provided it. Tae was a great teacher and made the material approachable and the 3-hour class pass by quickly. The study plan, question bank, and test day advice really helped me to stay on track and gave me the tools that I needed to prepare.
In terms of pricing, it's well worth the cost and by far the cheapest option in the DMV. I was able to raise my quant GRE score by 10 points, which I previously thought was impossible. I would highly recommend this class if you need a competitive GRE score for grad school admissions!

I have been consistently working with Sherpa, specifically Erin, for about 7 months now and the support I've been offered along the way has been invaluable. The instructors really care about your progress and I had multiple 1:1 check ins with Erin to individualize my study plan outside of the courses. This paired along with entertaining and informative class content supported me in raising my score 100+ points. Definitely recommend Sherpa. The whole staff is amazing and using the resources offered and advertised (and more not advertised) was easier than I could've imagined.

I can confidently say that I would not have gotten into my first-choice MBA program without Sherpa. As someone who spent a lot of time shopping around for GMAT tutors / studied solo (and got horrible GMAT scores) for way too long, I realize that Sherpa was the turning point in my whole application process. My score went up over 100 points after taking their GMAT prep class -- I also took advantage of group tutoring and the free class retake options, which really helped. I also went to Sherpa when I was stuck writing my admissions essays, and later (once admitted) to ask for advice on how to approach the financial aid / scholarship application process. They provided the moral support and community I needed to take on such a massive, overwhelming process. I really can't recommend them enough!

I had a great experience with Sherpa Prep! I just did 5 hours of tutoring for focused work on bringing up my quantitative GRE score with Erin. He knew his stuff inside and out, and gave me strategies for studying and test-taking that helped me improve my score significantly. The books were also much better than others I had used before-- they covered the material more comprehensively and provided much more thorough explanations with the videos. I highly recommend Sherpa Prep!

Tae was a great instructor! He was accessible to his students, and he gave me specific feedback on what to study based on my progress. The course was easy to follow and made studying manageable. I definitely would not have gotten a high score without Sherpa!

I’d highly recommend Sherpa Prep to anyone who is studying for the GMAT. I tried a lot of different services and companies for GMAT prep before Sherpa (Veritas Prep, Manhattan prep books, and Magoosh). Given that I tried so many other test prep resources, I can confidently say that Sherpa’s material and teaching style were ultimately what allowed me to accomplish my goals in terms of my GMAT score. I took the course with Nasheed and not only is she extremely knowledgeable, but she is also very committed to her student’s success. I did phase two preparation with Nafeez as well – he was very helpful and empathetic throughout the entire prep process. These two instructors are amazing; you won’t be disappointed after enrolling in this prep course.

I've taken two other GMAT prep courses with larger, household name companies. Sherpa Prep is by far the best and it's not even close. It starts with their mission. Their focus is not solely for an individual to improve their score by X amount of points. Rather, their mission and competitive advantage is to do everything in their power to make grad school applicants as competitive as possible. Additionally, the education they provide regarding the GMAT attacks the intimidating test on multiple fronts through concise content delivery, manageable study plans, insightful time management techniques and proper testing psychology.

TL;DR: I went from 151 to 163 on Quant after 4 months of work with this team.
Longer version: If you want quality, personalized service: go with Sherpa. Manhattan and Kaplan have lots of good content and tools, but they are churning people out. If you’re already crushing the tests and just need a little more content knowledge, you’re probably fine with other companies but if you want a team to help you obtain great growth over time, the choice is easy. Small class sizes, plenty of chances for one on one or very small group work and a phenomenal tutoring rate of $40/hour for current students. I taught professionally for 3 years, so I know strong teaching when I see it. These are top quality instructors.

I was accepted by one of the top Global Executive MBA programs in the world a few weeks ago. I had the Sherpa team advise me as part of their MBA Admissions Consulting program, in addition to prepping with their GMAT class. From then on, I have a team of Sherpa Prep advisors helping me to SEE THE BIG PICTURE from GMAT prep to MBA admissions. I have followed their advice religiously. I did what the Sherpa team advised me to do, and I am now two years ahead of my 15 year career plan, and 6-8 months ahead of my planned MBA admissions schedule.

When you work with Sherpa, you don't just learn how to solve GRE problems - you learn how to think like the GRE test makers. I would challenge anyone to find a quant question that Erin doesn't have a strategy for. He makes even the hardest quant problems seem like middle school math - because they usually are once you've cut through the tricky wording!
Thanks to Erin, I was able to secure a 165 quant and 166 verbal on my first attempt! That was well above the mean for every single school that I'm applying to, and I can't recommend Sherpa enough!

Sherpa Prep was honestly the best way to prepare for the GRE. The pace of the course was excellent, the prices were unbeatable, the materials were fantastic and easy to use, and the class sizes were typically 5 students. I had 2 months to prepare for the GRE and Sherpa helped me get the scores I needed for the program I’m applying to. I’d definitely recommend this course to anyone studying for the GRE.

When I began looking at taking the GRE, I already had several GRE prep books but needed a thorough, in-person refresher of math concepts for the quantitative section of the exam. Sherpa Prep's course taught the math concepts in an easy to understand format that allowed me to re-learn all the math concepts that would be tested. I was initially hoping to score slightly above the 50th percentile in quant and after taking the Sherpa Prep class and working through all the assignments and extra access materials, I ended up scoring in the 76th percentile. Even though I already felt confident in my verbal section and writing skills, the tips and tricks provided in the class helped me tack on an extra 4 points in verbal and obtain a 5.0 (92nd percentile) on analytical writing. The one down side of being a small company is that they are not quite as technologically advanced as major companies like Kaplan and I had several technical issues with their online practice problems, but this is easily made up for by all the extra free access you're given to other programs' practice problems and practice exams. The teachers also made themselves constantly available to you. I would definitely recommend this class if you need a solid math refresher before taking the GRE! The price also can't be beat by other in-class GRE courses in the DC area.

I have taken other courses before, but Sherpa was the best by far. Information is broken into tangible, understandable points, and learning is fun! I was easily able to take this course twice, and the second time was an even better experience. They have the best quality for the best value in the DMV for sure.

If you live in the D.C. area and are serious about improving your GMAT score Sherpa Prep is the best solution available. The on-going services available to students who have completed the course are a clear differentiator from other test prep companies in the market. On a comparative basis Sherpa Prep offers a much higher value proposition to the larger firms in the industry.

Sherpa offers an ambitious GMAT prep course schedule that's spread out over the perfect amount of time - 12 classes in about 8 weeks. I found the class to be a good mix of both exam content review (Quant, Verbal) and exam strategies/next steps. Nafeez is a pleasure to work with - he's motivating yet compassionate, fair, and above all he really knows his stuff. The practice materials Sherpa leaves you with are great because they allow you to review the concepts you go over in class at your own pace.

Sherpa prep is truly an outstanding model for helping students prepare for the GMAT and beyond. I’ve found the experience very enriching in many different ways.
The instructors are all top notch and very pleasant to spend three+ hours with. Their program also accommodates people with travel schedules (like mine) to make up classes.
Their goal is to help anyone, literally anyone, that wants to be helped, to navigate the complex test and the process to get into B school.
Highly recommend taking this over the big names!

Nafeez and his Sherpa Prep team are some of the best when it comes to preparing for the MBA admissions process. They walk you through not only the GMAT/GRE preparation, but also the very "why" behind your decision to go back to school. Nafeez and his team go the extra mile beyond the classroom by offering personalized attention through tutoring and check-ins to address any of your concerns as you go through your GMAT and MBA admissions journey.
Instead of fitting candidates into a one-sized-fits-all model, Sherpa makes sure that your plan and roadmap make sense for your end goal and your "why."
Huge thanks to Nafeez and the Sherpa team!

Sherpa Prep gives a comprehensive preparation for the GRE. Between classes, books, and practice problems, the course gives you all the information you need to prepare for the test.
The book comes with online video explanations to each of the hundreds of practice problems, a very useful tool.

Thinking about taking the GMAT and don't know where to start? Sign up for the course with Sherpa Prep first before doing anything on your own, if you're like me then there's no use running around in circles clueless knowing you want to go to business school. The value can't be beat, and you'll learn a ton within a reasonable amount of time as long as you're willing to put in the work. I took this course in Clarendon over the summer with Nafeez, a phenomenal instructor who will go the distance to make sure you're well prepared. Highly recommended, sign up early (weeks in advance) and secure your spot as seats fill up quickly and then you'll have to wait for the next course to enroll.

When I signed up for the Sherpa Prep in-person course I assumed the course sessions would be mostly 3 hours of straight GMAT material being thrown at you with an exclusive focus on GMAT concepts. What I found instead was a much more comprehensive and personalized experience where the focus of the course was not only to learn GMAT concepts, but to set yourself up for success at getting into a great MBA program.
The Sherpa Prep instructors provide an unparalleled level of personal attention and availability, they truly want you to succeed at the GMAT and in getting your MBA. Their approach to teaching GMAT concepts makes even the most complicated problems/concepts seem manageable. Expect to have many "ah ha!" moments when you find out that the types of problems you used to think were daunting, really are not. If you're looking for a plan to not only succeed with the GMAT, but getting into a great MBA program then you've found the right place!

I just finished a 12 class Sherpa Prep GMAT course. Sherpa Prep has helped me increase my score on official GMAT practice tests by 90 points in that short time. I know if I continue to apply their methods, I'll improve even more.
I signed up for the GMAT class because as a working mother, I do not have time to figure out how to crush the GMAT on my own. After taking the class, I'd recommend that NO ONE do try to do this alone. There are many simple but obscure methods that Sherpa has discovered and curated that would have taken me a lifetime to discover (if at all). The Sherpa course has exceeded my expectations for both the verbal and quant GMAT portions. Beyond the GMAT, I have learned that not only is math accessible to me, but that I could actually use and apply concepts that I never imagined were within my intellectual grasp. I am so lucky I found this course!
