I worked with Ryan's team three years ago and was really happy with the experience. They helped me with my applications to four schools, and I'm happy to report that I was accepted to two of them! I knew I was a bit of a tough case: I had a 670 on the GMAT (after 4 attempts) and my GPA was "average at best" for the most competitive programs (3.37) but I was able to secure admission to NYU Stern (who also gave me scholarship money - yay!), and UCLA Anderson. I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get into HBS or Booth (Booth did interview me, though), hence the 4 stars rather than 5 on this review, but I also don't think I would've been nearly as successful as I was without the help of Ryan and his team. I graduated from NYU this past year, and still look back on my experience working with Ryan and his team as a fantastic decision.
My career has certainly reached new heights, thanks to them (and of course, thanks to NYU Stern and their fabulous faculty and alumni network!). As I talk to people in my network who are applying to business school now, I remember how stressful that process can be but also remember how at ease I felt going through the process, knowing I had Ryan and his team by my side and there to support me. They really make you feel like "Priority #1" and don't hesitate to do whatever they need to to make you feel comfortable, supported, and on track. At one point, as I neared the deadlines for my target schools, I was talking to my consultant almost twice a day for about a full week - but I was never made to feel guilty that I was asking for too much. Questions were always welcomed, and it really felt 100% collaborative.
My advice to any prospective MBA candidate applying to top schools: Go for it! You never know what can happen, and don't under-estimate your potential! And of course, I recommend Ryan and his team! They're smaller than other consulting shops out there, but they're every bit as credible and supportive. You won't be sorry hiring them to help you!

Ryan far exceeded my expectations. I had spoken to several former clients of his prior to working with him (I wanted to make super sure he was as good as advertised) - He really is super knowledgeable about MBA admissions and what it takes to succeed. He was always completely accessible to me throughout the process, helped me develop a better "brand" than I ever would've been able to create on my own, and his support as we developed my application materials was invaluable. I was so impressed with our final product, and can't complain - I got into MIT Sloan, my dream school! He's truly an expert on how to get into competitive business schools, and you can absolutely trust him.

I worked with Ryan three years ago and still look back and say, "Wow, what a great decision!" Not only did Ryan help me get into MIT Sloan with a substantial scholarship (which is where I ended up going), but also earned acceptance to Kellogg, Columbia Business School, and NYU Stern. I was extremely satisfied with Ryan's services and how attentive he was, and am ETERNALLY GRATEFUL for what he's done for me and my career.
Ryan and I keep in touch, and he's remained a mentor to me throughout, and now after, business school. He's just simply a good guy, and has your best interest at heart.

I had the exciting privilege of working with Ryan directly (not his team) on my MBA applications this past year, and I can truly say he made a world of difference. He pushes hard, but his questions are SO thought provoking: He forced me to think of stories and examples to use in my essays that I otherwise never would've thought of, and he was equipped with a wealth of knowledge around how to structure an essay to be attractive to an MBA Admissions Committee, how to appeal to individual programs based on what they look for in applicants (he knows all the top programs inside and out), and what it really means and looks like to "brand yourself" to stand apart from other applicants. I could just feel my confidence and optimism rising as soon as I started working with him, and he delivered: I got into HBS, Kellogg, and Tuck (3 of the 4 schools we worked on together - I was dinged at Wharton after an interview).
Ryan was just awesome to work with - he's serious about what he does, and really blunt in his delivery, but he's not too formal: He tries to make the process as fun as possible (as he always said, "If you're enjoying the process and communicating with optimism and excitement your application will be that much better!") and when needed, he knew how to coach me to manage my stress and worries. I consider myself so lucky to have found him!

Ryan Barba was extremely helpful in helping me apply for an MBA program and prepare for the interviews. I was recently admitted into Goizueta Business School and am extremely grateful for Ryan's help.

I'll be honest. I was initially hesitant about signing up with Ryan Barba Consulting. I didn't have a great GMAT score and my GPA was average, at best (by the standards of top MBA programs). I initially signed a 1-school package to give them a "test drive", but once I experienced how diligent, thoughtful, and attentive they are, I had complete trust in their services. I ended up working with them on 4 schools, and earned acceptance to my dream MBA program - MIT Sloan - along with Berkeley Haas and Cornell with a $25K/year scholarship. I'm starting school at MIT Sloan this fall!
The MBA admissions process is a TON of work, but having Ryan and his team as my partner throughout the process made it 10x easier. I have zero doubt that they helped me earn acceptance letters that I otherwise would not have gotten, and I'm so thankful to them for all they did for me and my career. You won't regret working with them!

I'm so glad I found this page! I've been looking for an avenue to brag about Ryan for years!
I worked with Ryan 5 years ago on my MBA applications, and he changed my life! I'm now a alum of Stanford GSB - where I had a great experience - and I'll always look back at my experience working with Ryan as life-changing, exciting, and enjoyable. He was extremely knowledgeable, provided intelligent pushback in just the right ways, and made the application process very efficient. I was very successful working with him - 4 acceptances to top programs! - and I have no doubt that that success was largely thanks to his help.
Ryan will push you to do better and be better. He'll challenge you. And he'll make your application shine. If I could give him 6 stars, I would!

I had an excellent experience with Ryan and his team. I got accepted to HBS and Wharton, my two top choice MBA programs. Their team is great. The consultant I worked with on their team was outstanding and guided by step by step through the process. I couldn’t be any happier with the outcome of working with them. I’m thrilled to say the least.
They’re way better than the other admissions consulting firms out there, and I know that after talking to friends of mine who had tried other firms in the past. Ryan Barba is the way to go.

Thanks to Ryan and his team I was accepted to 2 top programs - HBS and Chicago Booth!! I can't possibly recommend them more highly - professional, attentive, and highly-knowledgeable about the top programs and how to appeal to them. They're also expert consultants - they know how to plan ahead, keep you on track, and monitor your progress so that you're staying on top of things. Thanks so much!

I'm so thankful that I hired Ryan Barba's team to help me with my MBA applications! They were so helpful in getting me clear on where to apply, how to position myself to my target schools, and to address my "weaknesses" (low GPA, 6-month work gap) in my applications. They made me feel so much more confident and comfortable throughout every aspect of the process and made the process of applying to business school so much smoother. I worked with them on 4 applications, and despite my 3.1 GPA I got accepted to MIT Sloan, Kellogg, and NYU Stern. I fully recommend them - the best decision I made in my application process was hiring this amazing team! :)

I had a great experience with Ryan Barba Consulting. I knew that as a male, Indian candidate that I was facing an uphill challenge, especially given that my GMAT was a 700 and I was aiming high, but I felt fully supported going through the admissions process. I used RBC for 4 schools, and got into 2 of them: Kellogg and NYU Stern (dinged at MIT and Booth, although I did get interviewed at Booth).
I was a little disappointed I didn't get into Booth, especially since I was so close, but Ryan's team did all they could to prepare me well. And hey - I got into 2 of the 3 schools I got interviewed for! The only other thing I would say is an improvement opportunity is that it took a few days for them to get going. I signed up for their services on a Sunday and we didn't kick off until that Thursday, after they'd had time to review my materials in detail and find a mutually-beneficial time to hold our first call. Since I was under a time crunch, this caused me a bit of stress. But once we got rolling, my consultant was fully responsive: Same-day responses to emails, highly available for calls whenever I needed them (including on weekends) and super-fast edits to my materials.
All-in-all, I had a great experience and highly recommend Ryan and his highly-skilled team of experts on MBA admissions.

Ryan and his Team are truly amazing!
The level of knowledge, caring and expertise to help get you into a top rated MBA program is unmatched to others in his field. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and formulates a plan to tackle getting into an MBA school of your dreams.
If you want to take the next step in your career, Ryan is hands down the best I've ever found! Thank you Ryan for what you've done for me in my career!

I talked to a lot of other MBA consultants before coming across Ryan, and I'm really glad I made the decision to work with this great company. They were extremely professional and did a great job of preparing me for the entire application process and guiding me every step of the way. I was nervous going into the process, especially because my college GPA wasn't the best and I had limited community service work experience, but my consultant really helped me feel comfortable and kept me optimistic all the way through. He was also always quick to respond and really knew a lot about what each school looks for / how to demonstrate your "fit" for each program. His edits were always spot on and thoughtful, and he really encouraged me to dig deeper as we were developing my "brand" and crafting essay content. He was also really strategic as we came up with our plan to address the weaknesses in my candidacy. I was proud of the applications we completed together, and actually enjoyed the application process (I never thought I'd say that!).
I used Ryan Barba Consulting to apply to 5 programs. I was admitted to 4 of them: Wharton, Chicago Booth, Tuck (with some scholarship money), and London Business School. I was interviewed at Stanford GSB but was ultimately waitlisted and didn't get in. So that's the reason for the 4 stars - I got into 4 of the 5 programs I applied to with their help, so they get 4 out of 5 stars. :)
But really, zero to complain about here. Although I was disappointed that I didn't get into Stanford, I did come close with a pretty low GPA (by top MBA programs' standards), and I doubt I would've had nearly as much success as I did without their help. They really give you that A+ support and make you feel valued and supported every step of the way. And .. I'm really enjoying life at Wharton! Thank you so much, Ryan and team!

As a male, Indian candidate I heard a lot of things that made me nervous about getting into a top MBA school and really didn't think I had much chance of success with an engineering background and a 700 GMAT score. But my consultant with Ryan Barba Consulting helped relieve my doubts and had some great insights into how I could succeed. They gained my confidence, I signed up (still somewhat nervous) and took the chance.
I'm glad I did! They were a great help throughout the entire application process, and they were right - I could get into some top programs! I was accepted to MIT Sloan, INSEAD, and Columbia Business School with their help and am so happy I decided to work with them.
Hiring a professional consulting firm from outside India can feel expensive, but they really do help every step of the way! Given how many countless hours they put in, and the results they produce, I can tell you that this was WELL WORTH THE COST!!! I'd use them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them!

Ryan not only assisted in helping me get accepted, with scholarship money, to two Top Schools (Johnson and Marshall), but he also helped me define my goals and set a vision for my career.
I arrived on campus much more prepared than my classmates to pursue my goals, and I was able to hit the ground running in recruiting. If you care about not only getting accepted but also being in a position to succeed when you start business school, choose Ryan as your consultant.

Working with Ryan was easily the best decision I made when going through the business school application process! He is extremely knowledgable about all things b-school and knows how to highlight your individual strengths / story in an original way that truly makes you stand out to each school's admissions committees.
We had a couple of initial calls to talk in-depth about my aspirations, past experiences, and overall application strategy. Developing a comprehensive story is the most important part of the application, and Ryan was critical in helping me formulate that narrative. After that, Ryan was extremely responsive to any questions or resume / essay drafts that I sent over, and we scheduled additional calls as necessary. Throughout the process, Ryan was super engaged, upbeat, and positive, but he wasn't afraid to be direct and honest with his feedback, which I really appreciated because it improved my applications way more efficiently! I always felt very prioritized - you won't find that same experience with a bigger consulting firm.
With Ryan's help and guidance, I received acceptance to HBS (and also received full scholarships at Columbia and Fuqua)!

I worked with Ryan and his team on 4 MBA applications, and what can I say? They were excellent to work with and they produced amazing results for me! I certainly can't complain - I got into HBS, Yale SOM, and UCLA Anderson and am now attending Harvard Business School!! (I was also waitlisted at Stanford GSB). I didn't have the "perfect GMAT score" by any means (690) but my consultant did a great job of helping me craft a really compelling, exciting story for myself, kept my confidence up along the way, and was with me every step of the way as I navigated the admissions process. Really detailed, thoughtful edits to all my application materials, outstanding interview prep... really just excellent in every way. The entire process felt well-organized, but flexible enough that we could adapt to my schedule and needs. I really loved the small feel of the company - I always felt like a priority, and my consultant was always extremely attentive and available to help me however she could.
I really loved my consultant - she and I became really close and remain in contact to this day!
Hire Ryan and his team with confidence! I can't imagine having had a better experience and am forever grateful for their help!

Fantastic company. I went into the MBA Admissions process with a lot of hesitation because of my 670 GMAT score and what I thought was a pretty unexciting personal background, doubting I'd ever get accepted to a top-tier school. I really didn't think there was much I could say to make myself stand apart enough to overcome my GMAT. Ryan and his team gave me back my confidence and helped me set realistic goals in terms of school selection, then helped me create fantastic quality applications that I know I couldn't have created on my own. They helped me with 5 applications and I got admitted to 3 schools - Wharton, Stern, and Duke! They gave me so much clarity and confidence throughout the process.
This company isn't as large as the other "big" consulting firms, but I think that's a good thing. They really take care of you and make sure you get all the attention you need. They also work really collaboratvely - While I did have a day-to-day personal advisor, I was also able to have other members of the team chime in when I asked for it. So, you have one person who's helping you throughout the process, but the support of the entire team! It really works well. I highly, highly recommend them!!!

I had the BEST experience with Ryan Barba Consulting! I really felt like a had partner throughout the application process who was championing my cause. My consultant was always willing to go above and beyond to give me the answers I needed, invest the time necessary to do a GREAT, thorough job editing my application materials, and make me feel 100% supported.
I was really nervous that I'd be able to get into any top schools given my sub-700 GMAT score and the fact that I didn't work for a big-name company, but RBC helped me craft compelling essays that not only showed portrayed me in the best possible light but that also (in the optional essays) perfectly explained away my weaknesses thoroughly and convincingly.
I got into Chicago Booth, Kellogg and McCombs with their help! Getting that phone call from Kellogg, my dream school, is a moment I'll always remember. I called my consultant immediately (after calling my parents) and it just felt like we had accomplished this amazing goal together, and that she was as excited as I was. I'll always remember that moment! Thanks so much RBC!!!!

I had a great experience working with Ryan. He thoroughly guided me through the entire MBA process and helped keep me sane and confident every step of the way.
He first had me fill out a detailed "intake form" which was pretty holistic - it made me think through elements of my candidacy and background that I really hadn't thought through before. We reviewed this in really strong depth, and worked together over several phone calls and emails to develop my "brand strategy" - basically, my clear messaging for how I'd distinguish myself from other applicants. This process was super in depth and really strategic. He had a specific structure he followed, which he shared with me, and it was really clever and insightful. I really loved how we decided to "brand" me and it really helped as I was working to craft my essays later.
From there, we worked really in-depth on all of my applications. Ryan was extremely thorough and detailed in helping to edit my resume, essays, and even short essay prompts within each application. We worked on 4 applications together and was SO HAPPY with how they turned out - far better than I believe I could've done myself. They were works of art!
Then, Ryan coached me really hard on my interview skills - skills I'm sure I'll carry with me for the rest of my life. As he was on my essays, he was very direct and forthcoming in his feedback, but he made it so clear how to bring my interview skills to that next level. And when I stepped into my HBS interview (the first interview I had) I felt so confident and prepared. He really gave me all the confidence in the world to really nail it.
And I did! Not only did I get into HBS, but I earned acceptances to 3 of the 4 programs I applied to with Ryan's help (HBS, MIT Sloan, and Haas). Looking back, I couldn't be happier with the level and quality of support I got from Ryan. He's a true rockstar as a coach and mentor, and really understands the MBA Admissions process. He also clearly has a passion for this work. It was truly enjoyable working with him and I can't thank him enough!

I love their strategy of making sure that every consultant only takes on a few clients at once to ensure that clients are treated like gold. Phenomenal experience, phenomenal results. I was accepted to both schools they helped me with. Looking forward to attending Booth next year!

Ryan is incredibly knowledgeable of the admissions process. I enjoyed working with him on my applications and found his guidance to be paramount to my success. Ryan cares deeply about his clients and works extremely hard to help them accomplish their educational goals (as he did with me). His passion and belief in me gave me the extra push to work harder under his guidance. I now hold an MBA from a Top-25 B-school and gained an offer from a prestigious consulting firm. Without Ryan, I would still be working a 9-5 job instead of passionately pursuing my long-term career goals and aspirations. Thanks again, Ryan!
