NYIAD is an accredited school online. You can add a certification course to your resume. The best part is that you can go at your own pace. They offer many programs that you can adjust study time as you work. I highly suggest a design program whether you are single, divorced or a married person seeking a credential to add to your resume. ~ Selia ~~

The course in Interior Design exceeded my expectations. It is an affordable course that provides you with the basic concepts in the field. The assignments are a good way to practise and develop the contents. The tutors provided good feedback and helpful advice and any time I had a question they responded Immediately. I would recommend though to update the information and illustrations with current trends and introduce a Unit about new/smart technologies.

I found this course easy to follow and well done. I was a little disappointed with how long it took to get marks back but other than that it was great.

I am a practicing unlicensed interior designer (technically decorator) and wanted to up my credentials and knowledge. I'm at a point in my career where going back to school would be a waste of time and money. I did learn some good practices with the interior design program, but found the methods to be a little archaic, waiting for the mailed materials and the audio feedback. In the end, I would say I got what I paid for, and am satisfied.

I my opinion NYIAD is great. I took an AutoCAD course. The program is very well designed and laid out. Advisers and counselors were professional and helpful. I haven't taken the certification exam yet but on test run I scored 933 out of 1000. Great job NYIAD! Did I forget to mention their reasonable pricing?

I'm glad that I took this course. I've been working in the field for several years and needed to know some details, like how to measure a room, etc...However, I will say that the videos that "teach" you are quite outdated. I live in the South and I have to say that NO ONE here decorates with heavy ornate antiques and old school oversized furniture anymore. With that being said, I took it with a grain of salt and did my best to perform using those guidelines. I do wish that it would have been a little more modern and helpful for today's decorators.
Also, my "professor" was 75 years old and she reviewed activity that I did from her old school mentality. She would frequently send my assignments back to me to "re-do" when honestly, there was no point.
She retired midway through my journey and the new "professor" that was assigned to me was superb. She understood the process and was very forgiving on the "little errors" instead of making you re-do the entire project.
It took me 18 months to complete because the turn around time on projects being graded was 3-4 weeks. It was frustrating when trying to finish on a personal goal of 12 months.
You get what you pay for. All in all, I'm glad that I did it!

I love the course content however I still have issues with how project/assignments are submitted. Very complicated for someone who knows just the basics in computers.

I learned alot and hoping to continue my Ed.Instructors were avaible for questions and gave great advice and constructive criticism when needed. The online system was easy to navigate. Be careful with the instructions in your unit kits vs the online instructions. They can be very confusing. If you have questions just email instructors. They're good about getting back to you quickly.

The only thing which is downside of the course are the units. As you have students from all over the world, I think that units should be a choise. For me it is hard to get used to inches and feet since all my life I am using metric units as mm, cm, m etc. If that can be changed, it will add value to the whole course.

Phone calls were not answered. Demands for drawings were not explained in the corresponding chapter of study.
The graph paper is a mess, the distance between the lines varies on a single page.
